This
hospital
is
one
of
my
personal
choice
from
the
past
but
it
changed
this
time
around.
My
mom
has
cough
with
pleghm
so
we
opted
to
seek
medical
assistance
for
safety
purposes
and
peace
of
mind.
Doc.
J.
Romero
(IM/Pulmo)
is
the
one
who
attended
to
my
mom.
He
suggested
various
laboratory
test
and
prescribed
some
medicines.
I
understand
that
due
to
current
pandemic,
PPE
is
required
for
hospital
personnel
and
patients
safety.
What
amazed
me
is
it
is
per
department
so
on
this
case,
we
are
required
for
three
sets
of
PPE.
1
for
Laboratory,
1
for
Radiology
(X-ray)
and
the
last
one
is
for
ECG.
On
the
initial
visit,
I
opted
for
X-ray
only
and
to
continue
the
prescribed
medicines
by
the
doctor.
During
this
time,
the
hospital
HMO
personnel
said
that
the
provider
do
not
cover
PPE
so
I
have
to
pay
it
by
cash.
After
the
X-ray
is
done,
I
just
realized
that
the
PPE
is
more
expensive
than
the
actual
procedure/test.
PPE
costs
875
pesos
while
the
X-ray
is
only
754
pesos.
Isn't
it
amazing?
I
look
for
clinics/laboratories
outside
who
can
cater
the
remaining
test
as
I
am
just
amazed
how
expensive
PPE
can
be.
With
no
luck,
we
opted
to
go
back
to
BHMC.
This
time,
the
hospital
personnel
at
the
HMO
desk
asked
me
to
speak
directly
with
the
provider
(HMO).
They
explained
process
for
RTPCR
as
it
is
included
in
the
remaining
required
test.
Unfortunately,
it
will
not
be
covered
if
the
result
is
negative
and
must
be
conducted
on
DOH
accredited
hospital
however
she
said
that
BHMC
isn't
included
on
the
list.
Out
of
curiosity,
I
asked
the
provider
if
they
cover
PPEs
and
without
any
hesitation
she
said
yes.
She
even
informed
me
that
the
hospital
HMO
personnel
isn't
requesting
for
it
hence
she
asked
me
if
she
should
include
it.
It
makes
me
wonder
if
it
has
been
requested
during
the
initial
request
or
NOT
at
all.
To
cut
it
short,
HMO
provider
DOES
COVER
PPE!
I
just
lost
875
pesos
for
the
first
PPE
not
that
sure
if
it
is
due
to
incompetence
or
negligence.
Fast
forward
for
actual
blood
extraction.
The
LAB
personnel
is
indeed
wearing
a
PPE
but
to
my
surprise,
he
extracted
blood
sample
from
my
mom
literally
outside
the
ER.
On
a
bench
visible
to
passing
vehicles
and
exposed
to
dust
and
everything
you
can
imagine
on
a
side
road
I
just
don't
know
if
it
is
normal
procedure
for"triage"
or
what
not.
What
amazed
me
the
most
is
he
goes
to
another
patient
right
after
the
blood
extraction.
If
I
heard
it
correctly
it
is
for
COVID
testing
(RTPCR).
YES,
you
read
it
right!
He
goes
there
directly
without
changing
the
PPE
he's
wearing.
It
makes
me
think
that
PPE
scheme
is
a
fund
sourcing
for
the
hospital
as
every
patient
is
required
to
pay
for
it
and
to
emphasize
kt
is
for
every
department
that
will
handle
the
test.
I
will
leave
it
for
you
to
judge.
Again,
I
was
asked
to
pay
for
the
1st
PPE
as
they
claim
that
my
HMO
provider
doesn't
cover
such.
Secondly,
the
personnel
didn't
changed
the
PPE
and
goes
directly
to
another
patient
on
triage.
