Historical place. Should visit with family especially with children. But very little things only available. Only for the historical value itself we have to visit . Well maintained by the government. But little more things can be added to explain the history. And also some of his belongings can also be showcased.

It's a place where the King Veerapandiyan was hung by.the British. This place is right off the highway, entry is free. There isn't much to see, only a few paintings. I was expecting a little more history, maybe a short video show or artefacts from that period.

A great historical places to be visited by every patriotic Indian. Definitely have me goosebumps, when I realised the significance that this place has on our freedom struggle. Respects to Chevalier Shivaji Ganesan sir. Heard it was he who bought the land around the hanging sir and set up the memorial. My sincere thanks and respects to Late Chief Minister for taking over and building a beautiful memorial. The only thing that upset me was the Tamarind tree on which our great hero was hanged had decayed long back.

Veera Sakka Devi Temple Committee, Panchalankurichi, has thanked Chief Minister Jayalalithaa for inaugurating the newly built memorial at Kayathar, for freedom fighter Veerapandiya Kattabomman, in honour of his gallant deeds. He fought the British courageously during the freedom struggle. S. Malluchami, Joint Secretary of the Committee, here on Friday said it was a fitting tribute to the fallen hero. The monumental building was established at a cost of Rs.1.10 crore. A life-size statue of the legendary freedom fighter erected at the memorial was the highlight. The statue of Mr. Kattabomman holding a sword revealed his heroic character, he said. Speaking about the late freedom fighter, he said Kattabomman was hanged at Kayathar on October 16 in 1799.

It is a memorial built for freedom fighter Veerapandiya Kattabomman(1760-1799) from pre-Sepoy Mutiny era. This memorial has a statue for Veerapandiya Kattabomman(installed in 1970) and a fort(built in 2015) resembling then Panchalankurichi Fort ruled by him Fort houses bronze statue of Veerapandiya Kattabomman and few paintings describing his heroic acts. Work is underway to house a library. Play area is available for children. History: He revolted and fought several battles against company rule. Eventually, company forces captured him through a conspiracy/betrayal and brought him to this place and hanged publicly to intimidate rebellions.

Veerapandiya Kattabomman who opposed to pay tax to British govt is hanged in this place. Earlier their was one tamarind tree where actually he was hanged but now in the place of tree govt has constructed a pillar type. Area has one small park. two floor of fort like structure but nothing in first and second floor. Only on ground floor one statue and some info about veeranpandi kattabomman is available. Govt can improve a lot in this place.

This place has a fort kind of effect from outside. It is a huge 2 storey building. It has a statue of great Veerapandiyan Kattaboman. There are a couple of wall sculpted panitings! It also has information stuck on the wall which could have been much better. It is a simple printout on paper. This place deserves much attention. Instead of few paper printout the presentation could have been much better. The first m second floor has nothing. There is a beautiful garden outside the fort like structure.
