The BlueStar Bungalows are a quiet and beautiful family owned accommodation right next to the beach in Amed. The staff is very friendly and trying to help you in any way. The air conditioning is very effective and the rooms are getting cleaned very good every day. Lend yourself some snorkel equipment and explore the awesome corals reef directly next to the beach! I'll come back!

I spent 10 days at Blue Star. My overall experience is very positive and i definitely recommend this place where i hope to come back. +: - right on the beach of Jemeluk and the great thing is that it is a bit away from the road so less noise and also on the end of the beach so more secluded - snorkeling spot right in front of the guesthouse - staff is very friendly, i felt like home (family owned and runned) - rooms are fully equipped and spacious (fridge, AC, fan). - close to various places to eat, have a drink, watch the sunset - they can organize anything for you. Did 3 boat trips with Nengah, the husband of the owner. Fantastic guy - some of the staff, speak good english -: - rooms and furnitures are old - don’t hesitate to ask for thorough cleaning - breakfast a bit light and not many choice in what is included with the room

Great rooms - cosy and tidy. Great staff - very friendly. Great location - the snorkeling spot is right in front of the restaurant. The fish meals are yummy, make sure to try them. Looks like they fish their own fish to make them. Only the pizza was average - too much tomatoes and tomato paste. Nice touch: they bring free tea and coffee powder to your room, and a full thermos bottle, so you can have your hot drink anytime. I wish all hotels did the same. Things to improve: Change to brighter light bulbs, the rooms are dimly lit; change to longer bathroom taps - guests are washing their hands under the shower instead. This uses more water. I would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful Locally owned & run accommodation & restaurant. Great snorkling at the beach out the front. Easy takeoff point for trips to the Gilli Islands. All the staff are amazing & have always gone out of their way to look after us when we stay. We feel in some small way part of their family.

We love this place. Stayed there 6 or 7 nights on 2 trips. This is the best snorkeling in Amed. People cut thru their property to get to it. Just stay here. Great rooms and Darmi is super friendly

This was our favorite place on Bali, although admittedly we had the two best rooms, right on the garden facing the sea. Style is a bit quirky/antique like, which we loved. Super friendly staff, great food, right on the pretty black-sand beach with excellent snorkeling and watching the fishing boats sail in in the morning. Would totally return here.

There are many types of rooms from which to choose, and all are great. What really makes Bali Amed Blue Star stand out is the Balinese family who owns it. They are friendly and hardworking, and pour their souls into making it as wonderful of a stay as they possibly can. From a fresh breakfast to an evening smoothie or pot of tea. I highly recommend this family run business if you want a true Balinese experience right on the beach.

Reasonable price, clean and good bungalow that face directly to the Jemeluk Bay. The access for car might a bit challenging if you bring low riding sedan car, but no issue for an SUV as long as you enter with right angle. I was happy spending 2 nights here, especially with their Family room which can cater for 6 pax with extra bed. Large balcony to dry your wet suit and snorkeling gear.

The best thing about Blue Star Bungalows is its location. It is right by the best snorkeling spot in Amed. You can literally walk out from their stretch of the beach, swim a few strokes, and see beautiful tropical fish appearing from behind rocks. The location makes it very convenient to snorkel in the early morning before it gets crowded, and then a 2-minute walk back to the room to rinse off and start your day. That is the reason we booked this place, and we were very satisfied with that. Also, the wifi and a/c were great :) However, the rest of our stay was rather hit-or-miss. The hotel room was very dimly lit, with very little natural light. There was a private balcony, which we enjoyed, but it didn't have much in the way of views (just an overgrown garden, and definitely no ocean). The breakfast was TINY--you can order extra if you pay more, and the staff will ask what extra items you want as though it is expected. If you are going to advertise free breakfast, you shouldn't calibrate the amount of food so that you know hungry guests will end up shelling more just for an adequate meal. Moreover, the food was not good and very overpriced. We highly recommend just going with the toast (yes, 2 slices of toast=breakfast), and then skipping over to a warung down the street for much cheaper and yummier fare.

The best spot on the beach! Accommodation was cheap, clean, and comfortable. Food was excellent! Staff were helpful and friendly with good English. The snorkelling directly in front of the restaurant is some of the best in Bali!
