Nice science museum in Solapur, quite large size and number of exhibits if you consider the city. There is a special segment on textiles with a quiz section which could be played by 4 players simultaneously. (Pimpri Chichwad- Pune centre has focus on Automobile) Indoor and outdoor exhibits can keep the children busy for around 2 hours while exitedly running from one display to another. There was an open airplane engine on display outside the building with open parts in a decent condition so that I could explain my son the difference between in-line engine of automobile and radial engine of a plane. We went on a weekday just after Diwali and we were almost the only soul there. My experience with other science centres is that they get crowded on weekends when groups of school children arrive and start pressing random buttons in order to impress their peers and then there is a completion. So recommend to avoid weekends and special occasions like children's day and teachers day etc! Timings 10:00-18:00 Monday closed Ample parking for many vehicles, free of charge

It is far away from city. Need to have your own vehicle to go and enjoy. Staff is very cooperative. The way staff explains the taramandal is amazing. Needs more infrastructure and amenities

Beautiful place specially for children The Maharashtra government should spread awareness of these kind of places. Very informative & lots of work seems to have gone behind the same. Sad had never heard of it till I visited Solapur If maintained, this could be a study tour destination for young children

A very good place for children. There are many galleries showcasing science experiments and fun applications. There is fun science gallary having many fun science applications. There is taramandal show where we observe stars in a doom using a star projector. There is also a textile gallery. There is also a garden where many physics experiments and applications are there. There is also a dinosaur park. There is also a 3D theatre for 3D shows. Ample space for parking and is free. Individual Entry tickets for park, taramandal show and for galleries. Minimum 10 peoples are required for taramandal and 3D show.

The science center is very good. A student can learn at ease many scientific principles. The outer ground should be cleaned.

I wish I could have given 5 star, but the unkept and dry lawns refrain me from doing so. I found a lot of outdoor equipment worn out, damaged, dysfunctioning or needed repair/maintenance. First and second floor scientific equipment and display are appreciable with minor flaws in some. The guide and instructors were well informed and shared average information. Stayed back after sunset to watch few planets through naked eyes and telescope too. Thankful for that I never knew how to spot and identify planets and distinguish from stars. It wasn't possible to get entire information in one talk, though it was inspiring. The science center visit did add value and boosted curiosity to explore more. The night sky watch simulation in a dome is an enthralling experience. Altogether, it is a place worth visiting and not to miss at all. I failed to find if the science center maintains any interaction through digital and social media with visitors, students, teachers and enthusiasts and channelise discussion and organise events to develop and keep stirring scientific attitude in every common mind.

We visited Solapur Science Centre (Behind Solapur University, Kegaon) on 26th December 2018. The charges are very nominal such as entry fees (Rs,20), 3-D Science show(Rs.10), Taramandal (Rs.20), Parking (Rs.5 for 2 wheeler/Rs.10 for 4 wheeler/Rs.20 for buses). Our children enjoyed various scientific experiments. They were not ready to leave the place. We spent 2 hours there. Please carry sufficient food with you as the canteen facility is not available. However, as compared with Nehru Science Centre, Mumbai it is very small, new and unknown to local persons also.

Great exhibits but everything seems to be temporarily closed post covid. Only one of the exhibits was open and functional. The science garden is really interesting and could do with a little maintenance

Not maintained, no one is there to explain also, various machines are not working. If maintain well it will be very good for school going students. Concept is very good.
