here’s
a
lovely
aquarium
at
Diyatha
Uyana,
the
site
of
the
Good
Market,
near
Water’s
Edge.
Each
tank
is
run
by
a
different
fish
store.
It’s
not
Sea
World,
but
it’s
still
a
worthwhile
stroll
in
a
circle.
While
the
Water’s
Edge
building
remains
for
private
functions,
the
land
and
water
around
has
been
rededicated
to
nature
and
public
recreation,
to
great
effect.
From
public
walking
areas
to
the
weekly
Good
Market,
Diyatha
Uyana
has
become
a
beautiful
addition
to
the
city.
The
latest
improvement
is
the
installation
of
a
circular
aquarium,
visible
from
the
Parliament
Road.
This
newly
opened
space
has
around
a
dozen
big
tanks,
each
managed
by
a
different
private
fish
store.
They
stock
a
variety
of
fish,
from
goldfish
to,
uh,
bigger
fish
and,
well,
fish
that
look
like
Gill
from
Finding
Nemo.
This
is
not
the
Singapore
Aquarium,
with
a
variety
of
exotic
creatures,
but
it
is
novel,
well-kept
and
entertaining.
We
went
as
the
place
was
just
getting
setup
and
there
were
already
families
and
couples
strolling
around.
The
Diyatha
Uyana
food
court
was
busy
even
around
10
PM
and
people
driving
along
the
Parliament
Road
stopped
to
have
a
walk
around.
We
presume
that
the
aquarium
is
kinda
24/7,
being
an
outdoor
public
space,
but
we’d
recommend
going
at
regular
waking
hours.
It
is
especially
beautiful
at
night.
