My experience was not good with the food here. We went on a team lunch and ordered set meal for £15 and it was definitely not worth it. First of all they took lot of time to give us the starters even when it was not too crowded. Some of us ordered butter chicken and it was very bad . I think it was bad chicken. We just left it untouched. Lamb was good and starters was comparatively good. The location of the restaurant is nice.

First off, the food was really good. We'd come from a day-rave and we were pretty knackered and steaming, nothing really hits that spot like a pile of Indian food - and they rose to the occasion. Other reviews suggest we're not the only people to find that turning up quite late (around 10pm) isn't a guarantee of the warmest welcome, but it's only been open since 1962 so it's perhaps a little unfair to expect them to know that the best way 'not to have customers in your restaurant' is 'not to invite them in' - if you can forgive a couple of teething issues, you can have a nice meal here.

Food tastes amazing. Not too spicy and generous portions. Lovely customer service. Staff were super friendly and answered any questions we had about the food.

Good food. Was not impressed by the serving staff eating behind the bar and from what I saw not washing their hands after and continued serving. Lost 2 stars for that I'm afraid.

We visited early on a weekday evening - a bunch of 7 mildly beered and slightly loud blokes. We were politely and efficiently served and the food was delicious. Not cheap but worth the money.

The food was great, we ordered the most popular mains and vegan mains which didn’t lose any of the traditional Indian flavours. We had no problems with food other than the service which took very long. The time we waited between getting our starters and main was long but was worth the wait. We even got a free ice cream cake for my mums birthday The exquisite designs made the whole vibe. The candle lit lights with the royal green colour palette designs, it was the perfect choice for my mother’s birthday. Another problem we faced which isn’t entirely the restaurants fault was that the restaurant has a bar which attracts a big crowd of people at the front. The path into the restaurant is very narrow so getting in and out was hard. Overall, we had a great time and would go back again.

I had mixed thali and it was excellent. Friend has veggie thali and said the same. Been here a few times now and will definitely come again.

We were forced to over order which resulted in food wastage. They repeatedly emphasised that their cooks were too busy to prepare the small portions listed in the menu. Food was ok but overall spoiled the whole experience.

The staff is lovely and takes good care of you, the cleanliness and decor is spot on and the food is probably the best indian food I’ve ever had. Butter Chicken and Garlic Naan is a solid gold combo. Big plus for the classical music in the background (perfect to set a mood without ever disturbing). 11/10 will return whenever I’ll have a chance!

Went for cocktails and snacks in the bar with a group of friends. It was the perfect venue. Staff were great, bar snacks were delicious, it was easy to get served even in happy hour and the music wasn't so loud you couldn't talk. We will definitely go back.

Didn't like the deconstructed prawn puri. Bread was dry! Service rushed and not as friendly as previous times. Olive naan also dry! No complimentary on the house at the end.

I've been going there for 30 years and it does do a great curry. They know the difference between flavour and heat. Its got more upmarket over the years.

Absolutely delicious. This restaurant has come back with a vengeance. Food excellent quality and generous portions served in authentic dishes, so flavoursome. Reasonably priced too. We use Indians all the time and this one is up there with the best. Already booked to go again with the Orient boys.

Food was decent. The starters and the main course were good. However, the Tandoori roti was like leather after 5 minutes. We were struggling to take even 1 bite with the roti. Best to avoid Tandoori Roti here. The desserts were dreadful. We ordered kulfi, gulab jamun and strawberry cheesecake. None of them were even half decent. We could not even cut the strawberry cheesecake as it was cold and hard. Image attached. The service here was incredibly slow. The waiters do not respond to your requests. But were really responsive when we had to pay the bill.

Tasty curry and not too oily - felt very healthy and light! Would recommend. A little slice of homeliness amongst the bustle of Liverpool Street. Lots of options marked vegan on the menu!

Visiting london and stumbled across this place. Service is absolutely brilliant attentive and friendly staff. The food was equally as good serving food that makes the mouth water and probably one of the nicest dhansaks I've had in a long time. Would defiantly recommend.

Very welcoming and friendly staff, the food is good and one doesn't have to wait long for it to be served after ordering. Prices reasonable and the location is in a lively small street with a lot of places to have a drink afterwards.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Dilchad, an amazing curry restaurant, and I am thrilled to share my experience with you. Upon arriving at Dilchad, I was immediately struck by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The decor was cozy and inviting, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I was impressed by the diverse selection of curries on the menu, which offered something for every taste and preference. The dish I chose was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. It was served with a side of fluffy rice and paired perfectly with my choice of drink. In addition to the delicious food, Dilchad also had an impressive selection of beverages. I opted for a refreshing drink that complemented my meal perfectly. Overall, I had an incredible dining experience at Dilchad. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the service was top-notch. I would highly recommend Dilchad to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic curry experience

Great variety of non-spicy and spicy food, meat and vegetarian options. Very clean. Very professional service and friendly staff. Great value for money for a family of 5.

The issue immediately obvious in this restaurant is the rude staff. Surly to the point of unpleasant. Menu pulled out of your hands when being collected in. Wine plonked on table unopened. Food was okay at best. Chicken shaslik is supposed to be served sizzling on a hot plate - not here though. Just warm. The naan bread was nice as it happens. When waiter clears table and knocks dish across customer’s white shirt, no apology even when pointed out. The 10% tip is automatically added to bill. Waiter very rude and unhappy when we paid by card the amount less the 10% tip and insisted we had to pay it. We didn’t. I enjoy paying well above 10% tip when appreciating decent service. Once in a blue moon I don’t pay tip. This place is best avoided.

Had a business dinner here this eve and can’t wait to come back for a personal feast. Cakess was our waiter and made the eve 10/10. Food - authentic and delicious. Thank you Dilchad.

Very good authentic food and a limited but very nice choice of vegan dishes. If you are like me and cannot decide just go for the Thali and try all the dishes at once! Perfect for a leisurely dinner or a quick lunch between meetings or train journeys from Liverpool Street Station. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. Big bonus: warm towel to wipe your hands and face afterwards! No curry stains left on you!

I ordered the vegetarian railway thali. Good quantity of food served. Onion pakodas, chickpeas curry, daal , veg curry and a sweet was given. The same used to cost 10£ earlier but now costs 14£

Went here with a group on a Saturday night. The food was tasty but the staff were so unfriendly and it really ruined our experience. One member of our group is celiac and despite the menu having a food chart for allergies, the staff were not able to confirm if food was actually GF. The staff were dismissive and rude, and it felt, from the very beginning, that they just wanted us out of the restaurant.

Tasty Indian food. Service efficient. Place looks a bit tired and could do with internal redecorating. Don't bother ordering wine ;)

Really enjoyed the food. Better quality than Indian restaurants I’ve been to in Brick Lane. Very tasteful interior of restaurant and unobtrusive service.
