😠 Avoid this emergency room. They are very unprofessional and the nurse does not want to work here and is overwhelmed. They made me stay in pain for more then 5 hr. It a shame how the medical staff work in this hospital. I will never recommend this hospital. People often mention staff, care, hospital, nurse, Jackson, nurses, room, pain, time, experience,

We were here visiting a patient a few times, and had pretty good experiences. The hospital itself is very clean (which is good!), and updated. The parking lot is pretty big, but depending on the time of day, could be a bit challenging to find a spot. The front desk for us was hit or miss. At some times, it was easy to check in and be able to go see our loved one; however, at other times, they were adamant that only two visitors could be on site. It depended on who was running the front desk. The physicians, nurses, technicians, and food service staff we encountered were amazing. Everyone was warm and personable, and you could tell that patient care was their utmost concern. The waiting areas were nice and roomy, and had outlets if you need to charge your phone. Overall, this is a pretty good hospital for inpatients. I hope I don't have to visit again, but if needed, I would!

This hospital needs professional and compassionate nurses who actually care for the well-being of their patients. As well as physicians who take their time explaining and informing the family members. I felt I had to be on top of the hospital calling to get information about my father’s condition. Let’s remember these are sick people who’s families are trusting and believing they’re receiving the best care.

There is not enough staff and the owners should be ashamed at the wait times due to lack of nurses and doctors. They are running ragged in order to try and get everything done. Waited for over 7 hours to be seen and do my tests, and after that it still took an hour and a half to get just the painkillers and antibiotic I needed. Go somewhere else, the management doesn't care about their Frontline staff.

I visited Jackson South for a scheduled procedure on 08/25. From the moment I arrived everyone was so extremely caring and helpful. Although I was extremely nervous and scared, my nurse Sebastian, was so thoughtful, caring and gentle. He made me feel comfortable and at ease. I don’t remember much names of other people involved in my care but I was very pleased with all of the medical staff. My doctor, Dr. Suarez and my anesthesiologist were amazing and extremely knowledgeable. My doctor came recommended as the best, and he truly is the best. I never do reviews but I was so pleased with the care I received at Jackson South, I needed to share my experience.

Jackson South Medical Center was an awesome place to get vaccinated! They were VERY organized, couldn't have been a better experience there. They were timely, both with the service they gave, and also with the correspondence. I received both texts and emails telling me when to be at my appointment, where it was located, what information to have with me, etc. I cannot say enough about the GREAT experience I had. I really appreciated the professionalism throughout. Thanks you so so much!

I never go to doctors but I was in an excruciating pain that I had to go to the ER. First when I arrived I landed at the wrong place so some girl just pointed and said “Emergency is the next building” never specified nor made eye contact, or showed any interest in working. Had to walk with a pulsating back pain, then entered to the ER where everyone has to find out what is wrong with you because there’s almost no privacy or low voices among the staff. I got to the ER at 1pm and ended up leaving at 8pm. Getting an X-Ray took about 3 hours, though the staff was wonderful and understanding, It was out of their control to get an X-ray machine. The overall experience was poorly, I felt uncomfortable having to hear what others pains and issues were and why they got to the ER. Also, I’m not sure why I got my vitals taken TWICE upon arriving. One with the nurse next to the front desk and 2 minutes after while sitting in the waiting room area.

Our experience was like visiting a prison. A rude security guard is there to greet you. I went with my two daughters to visit my oldest daughter who had just given birth to our first grandchild. Now I know and respect the security guidelines in hospitals having worked in one for so many years myself. However, there is no need for such draconian restrictions on visitations. We were told only one of us can go up at a time while the father is in the room so my daughter asked, can my father sit down here while we are visiting my sister because he’s disabled, she said no. I had to go wait outside the building. Mind you the only chairs out there are occupied by people smoking under the awning. So my choice was go stand in the rain or inhale smoke. I have respiratory complications and problems walking. They have all these comfortable couches in the downstairs lobby, but no one’s allowed to sit on them apparently. When we did the expectant mother tour I was there and asked, where can the spill over family sit while they waited taking turns visiting the baby and mother? The tour guide told me there’s a waiting area by the elevator. The security guards downstairs were not interested in this explanation I know some hospital liaison is going to respond with usual line about how they serve the community the best they can and in the most respectful way. This statement was designed weeks or months ago in some committee meeting. We had choices as to which hospital to choose for the birth of our grandchild. We chose Jackson South because it was close to home. In retrospect we should’ve chose Baptist. They are more accommodating since they are a private hospital. That security guard should look for employment at the DMV, she’ll fit right in.

This is the absolute worse place to get treated when you are sick. I came in with excruciating pain that I could barely walk or stand. They brought me in to an area filled with sick patients, vomiting, getting blood drawn all IN THE SAME PLACE. Once they drew my blood, I sat there in the small lab chair. I was not moved to a room the entire time I was in there. My level of pain was 100/10. The absolute worse. No accommodations for patients like me that couldn't sit in a chair comfortably with the pain in my abdomen. I was then moved to the waiting room, STILL IN PAIN and no pain meds given to me. I usually don't care for them but this time I REALLY needed it. The doctor would stop by to see me in the waiting room and ask me how I was feeling. I arrived at 3:30 and left about 8 hours later. This place is a disaster. I can go on on how horrendous this experience was but I'm sure you get the point.

My son was brought to this hospital by ambulance after his car accident. Never had I been to a hospital as dirty and nasty as this one. Ever! He was in pain and never given a bed. Only a very uncomfortable chair. This with head and neck pain, no neck brace. This with knee pain and having to sit on an uncomfortable chair without being able to elevate his leg. And to make it worse, a very sickly patient is put next to us with all COVID symptoms. No isolation room for patients with these kind of symptoms? So now we all have been exposed to COVID. Why???? Last place I hope to ever go for medical care.

Horrible experience!! Baptist is a way better option. They had my father sitting in a hallway for 8 freaking hours as if we where in third wold freaking country.. very disorganized ER… And I guarantee the bill will be as if we where in a 5 star freaking hotel…. The Ct scan people where rude and didnt make my father feel confortable even after we told them he was claustrophobic and his main symptom was dizziness and nausea… surprise, we couldn’t do the freaking test because my father felt sick!!! Had to wait over 8 hours in a HALLWAY!!! Took almost 2 hours to give him something to feel better…. Patient care is a joke, they tried to make him pee in a hallway where people constantly walked by with ZERO PRIVACY!!!! Avoid at all costs!!!

I am extremely disappointed about the service that I am receiving at the Emergency Care located in the Jackson South medical Center, and before the company answers my review I already sent an email to the email they eleTo make it simple there’s one guy named Alex (he is probably in his mid 20s and was wearing khaki scrubs) who definitely needs to be trained on how to treat people, he works at the registration counter. To my understanding, he never got a real training on customer service or simply on how to respect other people. I understand that we as people don’t feel good everyday, or that he was definitely having a bad day. But he for sure needs to understand that he can’t take it out on the people that visit the ER cause we are there for a reason and definitely not a good one. I am here to have my aunt checked out because she’s been having a terrible abdominal pain. We got here at 5:45pm, at 6:15pm she got called in, they took her blood pressure, took some blood samples and came back outside. Then they called her again at 7:00pm, because she was still in pain and nauseous they gave her some pain medication and some medication for her nausea, then came back outside. Between 6:30 pm and 10:00pm they took her to do a CT scan. It was 10:00pm and the pain was still there, the pain killer they gave her at 7 was definitely not effective. At this point we have tried telling the nurses the pain was not going away, and we started to get nervous and desperate because everything she’ll do it will causes pain. This is where the must upsetting part of the story begins, we asked this guy Alex on the front desk if they could give her something or if there’s something that could be done to accelerate the process of her being taken care of, note that we’ve been there for hours without any change, to what he answered that they could not provide anything else that she will have to wait for the doctor and that he will put “a note” something that I doubt he did because of his rude behavior. Another hour passes by and she still in pain and nothing else was done neither the doctor coming to see her or them providing another pain medication. So we decided to ask this guy Alex again, how long was it going to take for the doctor to see her, we again told this guy the pain she has been going trough since the day before, and to my surprise he completely ignored me he was very rude, he didn’t even look at my face while talking to me, he was just looking at the computer, he was basically ignoring me so I asked again maybe he didn’t heard me the first time, is the doctor going to take too long to see her and his answer was “No se” which means I don’t know in Spanish. To be honest I am not the kind of person that does this but ER is not a place where you go to have fun it’s a place you go because of necessity, he specially should learn how to properly treat people with respect. Not to mention that he was rude to everyone that will go to ask him a question, that he was most of the time on his phone or walking around, and you can definitely check the cameras today and these behaviors will definitely show. I write this email as I am still sitting here in the waiting area all this took place February 13 from 5:45 pm to only god knows when because it’s 2:36 Am in the morning and I am still sitting here. To be honest I am extremely disappointed on the behavior of this employee of yours and hopefully some actions will be taken accordingly. Beside this I also have to say that that ER is a complete mess, zero privacy, long waiting hours and to top it off the attitude of this guy Alex just HORRIBLE.

It's a real shame. The nurses and doctors are wonderful. However, every department is short staffed. So nurses, pharmacy, the kitchen, and other employees are struggling to meet patients needs. I went in for a severe sepsis infection from kidney stones. It was already in my blood. I was waiting in the ER for a day an a half on a hard bed waiting for a room. And every time I had to go to the bathroom, I had to walk all the way across the hallway in severe pain and past inmates hallucinating. When a nurse was available, they would kindly wheel me to the bathroom (but they were busy tending to the other patients in the room. Totally not their fault. They were only doing what they could with such a short staff). Same issue when I got to the room. The nurses and doctors were so helpful and supportive when available. But it was hard for them to tend to each patient properly. Again, totally not the nurses fault. They're human and can only physically do so much tending to such a large number of people. One nurse tech was required to take care of 13 people by themselves. I don't know how they do it. These nurses are Superheroes. But again, with the limited amount of staff, my medications ran a couple hours late (which is important to receive on time because my autoimmune disease acts up when not taken every 4 hours. Not to mention sitting in pain for two hours). Again, not the nurses fault. They are short staffed EVERYWHERE. It's humanly impossible to serve the needs of patients without the staff. I truly appreciate the nurses that helped me heal during this time. A few names that stand out are: Maria, Angela, Christian, and Claudia. There were a lot more but it was hard to keep up with the names. Another big issue was the kitchen. I had so many problems with food not showing up to the room or missing pieces of my order, or the quality of the food was just not edible. Again, NOT the kitchens fault. The same situation is going on there where they are short staffed. Imagine getting food out in time to hundreds of people. Food is bound to be not up to par, lost, and late. When there was an issue, the kitchen staff helped me as best as they could and even came up to my room to apologize personally. I truly hope this hospital brings on more staff to these departments. There's so many people who are amazing at their jobs and they're unable to work to their full potential because of the lack of help. Help them help us.

I was having a procedure done today. It's bad enough 70% of the patients don't make it out alive. After changing into the gown I asked the nurse do you have the contact number on file for my mom? And applied and said. Yes! I asked what is it she replied and said is your mom name Shawn and I replied no. Come to find out they had someone else paperwork in my folder so I said everything stops at this point. Also the nurse said the assistant told her that I had Tylenol this morning I responded and said that's not true and then she said my mistake I was speaking about another patient and I explained to her and her colleagues that I don't believe none of you. That were the two red flags .But to God be the glory for using and blessing Stephanie Delgado hands , experience and knowledge I made it out successfully 🙏😘😘

Wasn't even a patient or trying to ask for medical assistance, I am an Uber delivery driver just trying to do my job and follow the instructions provided by the client who requested my services and upon entering the trauma/emergency I wasn't greeted properly or even inquired on whether I needed medical assistance despite it being a trauma/emergency room. An employee started giving me orders on how to do my job while giving me an attitude which was unbelievable. I thought hospitals and their team members were suppose to be hospitable not hostile. If this is how they treat people upon entering their doors Lord help whoever needs them for urgent care. There were two additional staff members sitting behind the desk who were too busy gossiping to even look up. I only noticed there was a security guard there on my way out and could see him talking to another staff member as well. Considering the other one star reviews it seems like this establishment and it's management doesn't care. awful

This is truly such an amazing hospital to give birth within. I felt cared for by my team of nurses and our doctor (Dr. Delgado). Everyone was truly so kind, so knowledgeable and really amazing at their job. If you are looking for a hospital to give birth within - this is your place! You will be cared for (it’s a smaller hospital too, so the staff is attentive and close) and the birthing suites are really lovely. Big shoutout to Nurse Nadine and Nurse Teresa! Although every nurse was great - these two especially outdid themselves. Thank you, for taking such good care of my son, and myself and my husband was accompanied for as well.

Having my first child at Jackson South Maternity Ward was the best decision I ever made. They are so welcoming and caring, extremely knowledgeable and ready to answer all of your questions. They made it easy for my family and I to welcome our child. I have to thank my doctor Dr. Stephanie Delgado, supportive and kind, always checking in on you. Ms. Lisa my nurse, the best nurse, so supportive felt like family and the one I recommend asking for, Ms. Nadine in the nursing room who was on top of my child care and very encouraging and lastly, Ms.Celina the lactation consult, amazing. Her teaching and knowledge makes you feel like you know what you are doing as a first time mom. Thank you Jackson South Maternity Ward.

The floor staff is excellent but the Social Workers and Case Manager are not equipped to do their jobs. How is it possible that a patient cannot obtain a commode and a walker when going home? Waiting four days for equipment to be delivered to take mom home and we are taking her home without. We purchased privately even though she has medicaid and medicare.

I want to thank three nurses that cared for my husband while he was admitted. The first nurse is Oscar from night shift in the emergency room. He was so caring and not once did he look annoyed at everything I asked. He was truly amazing. The second nurse, I cannot remember her name, but it starts with an A. She is a black nurse in the emergency room during the day shift. She was also very caring and sweet. She was not only there for my husbands needs, but there for me too as I was so upset. The third nurse is Gisela from the second floor. This lady was absolutely amazing. Thank you so much, Gisela for everything you did for my husband!

My Mother is currently patient here and since day 1 all I have been getting is complaints from the service she is getting. They don't have an IV on her, no food given and GET THIS, this hospital doesn't give diapers to elderly patients. HOW the hell????? I spoke to her nurse which barely speaks English, i spoke to her in Spanish and she kept answering me in her English not understanding a word she is saying. we have been waiting for an approval since yesterday early morning for an MRI to be done with her pacemaker.... And 28 hrs later and still no answer. Dr never called me to give any update on my mother's other test done on her. Jesus for this being a fairly new hospital service sucks!!! The patient next to my mother left yesterday for horrible service as well. she had been there a week, no IV and stated service was horrible. She left against Dr's orders and left willingly. I may have to do the same with my mother.

Omg I absolutely loved my experience here in the labor and delivery area. This was my third c section. But my first experience here. This was by far the best I've ever had. The staff for the surgery were amazing. What a team they are. They all seemed close like family. They were all communicating well an were just a powerful team. When surgery started , I had two guys ( Drs or maybe they're nurses) by my side who were part o the anesthesia team. They were amazing. Each time I felt something weird happening or felt sick they cured it immediately in the IV..my lining for the baby was like tissue paper to put back an was very thin an they did amazing piecing me together. They were great . After the surgery I got to skip the recovery room. The staff for those days were beyond mine and my husband's expectations. When I needed something they were there super fast. They were all caring and positive people. Loved them all. They explained things well. They're all great. I told my friend to have her delivery here she's 32 weeks now. She's excited to deliver there after she heard my experience. The food was pretty good for hospital food .

During the recent omicron surge, I was a Jackson South Medical Center inpatient for four days, after having been promptly diagnosed at the ER with non-COVID pneumonia. I am pleased to recommend JSMC without reservation, for its excellent care, treatment, staff, facility and attention. Even the food is good. This was my second stay at JSMC in less than two years. The high level of care was extraordinary both times.

I'm completely disappointed by this so called great hospital... When my dad left my home to this place he had no skin tag but got it here. I sent an email to his Dr...and he gave me all sort of explanations why he could've gotten it and he even mentioned that he'll follow up after discharge....and no ONE EVER followed up. This hospital is taking advantage of the pandemic and how their loved ones can't visit their loved ones to make sure stuff like this don't happen etc... It's a shame... I'm completely disappointed 😞 😔 😕 by this hospital and will not recommend it...

I don’t know about any other departments in this hospital but I must commend the l&d department I had my baby their in march and my experience was awesome. From the time I entered for my scheduled c-section everyone was amazing the anesthesiologists stayed by my side the whole time and the nurse that held my hand made the process so easy. All the nurses did a phenomenal job I had a wonderful stay thank you! Dr Ahmed was my doctor and I can’t tell her how much I appreciate her.

My wife had an outpatient operation this morning for a Lipoma on her upper back The nurse that took care of her pre and post the surgery was terrible. Her name is Rosario, no carisma at all very dry with an angry face. Didn’t even offer to send for a wheel chair for discharging my wife The lady from the reception noticed and even asked her and she said it wasn’t needed so she offered to walk her out to the main entrance.

I can't begin so say how Impressed I am with the service we received at Jackson South. My husband had knee surgery with Dr. Rich last week and the care was top of the line. From the front desk staff, guest relations, the surgical services staff and the administrive team. Both my husband and I are familiar with hospitals and we have been blessed with amazing care over the years but non compares to the care he received at Jackson South. I wish all hospitals would take a page from their book!!!

Had surgery on July, I have to say that every single staff member there is very polite, attentive and you can tell they all want to make sure you have the best and adequate care, including the medical receptionist. The professionalism of the nurses and the genuine care for the patients well-being shines from beginning to end. The surgical team receives you with positive tones and smiles that you can see even behind the masks. It makes all the difference to the nervous patients. The hospital is clean, organized and spacious. Dr. Delgado is truly amazing, not only at her profession, but also her bedside manner is impecable. Because of her, I can finally live a pain free life. Please remember to be kind and compassionate to the staff. I can assure you their intentions are to make sure that you are back to health in the safest way. Thank you Jackson South and University of Miami medical team.

I hardly ever write reviews, much less for hospitals because generally when you come to these places you do not want to be here. Jackson has a lot to improve on- my five star review is primarily dedicated to the staff more than it is to the hospital and buildings as such. I have no complaints about anything with this specific visit (other than the security policy on visitors which is absurd!) but am going to throw that out there simply because it needs to be said. My grandmother was admitted to JMH South after being transported via ambulance here because she was having a heart attack which ultimately almost ended her life. Immediately upon arrival doctors got to work and were able to keep her alive. The medical staff was very helpful, resourceful, and answered a plethora of questions for us. The ICU Nurses were all incredible people who were very comforting to my family and grandmother and I while we were here. My grandmother, mother and I spent 12 days and 13 nights at JMH and though it was a very horrible time for us personally, the hospital did their best to accommodate us and most importantly the work they did saved my grandmother. I would like to personally recognize some of the staff members, I primarily wrote this review so that it could be known that they were the difference makers, the heroes, and because I want them to know that my family will forever acknowledge them and thank them for their services. I would first like to start off by thanking APRN Brian Knuckles who met with us once my grandmother was taken from surgery to the ICU bed. Dr. Knuckles was a fountain of knowledge, patience, and sympathy and he helped my mother and I comprehend what my grandmothers cardiorespiratory conditions were as if we were doctors too. I would also like to thank ICU Nurse David (who's last name I do not recall at the moment) for being on top of the situation, constantly communicating to APRN's & Cardiologists when needed, & so much more. Another APRN who was alternating with Dr. Knuckles by the name of Danny (I don't remember his last name but I believe it may be Rodriguez) who was also phenomenal and very supportive and did a great job explaining things. There were many staff members who were in and out and they all did a great job of not leaving the family in the dark about what was going on, what was going to be done, and so on. To all the nurses and APRN's, Cardiologists, CNA's, RNA's, etc who were in charge of ICU Bed 6 on the second floor from 09/05/23 to 09/14/23, we thank you and are very grateful for what you did. I would lastly like to thank, praise, commend, and salute an excellent ICU nurse by the name of Mariola Flores, who was by far a phenomenal person to my entire family during the worst imaginable moments. Mariola was constantly available to not only explain things to us but also to take immediate action and assist my grandmother with everything needed. Mariola did more than she had to because not only did she help my grandmother (her job), but she also reassured and comforted my family and I during that time. Mariola, you may see this, you may not, but if you do- keep being the best MF in all of Jackson South. For anyone other than Mariola, me calling her "MF" is an inside joke, not an insult, and the fact that she was able to make an inside joke with me during a moment as traumatic as this hospital visit should speak volumes as to the kind of person that she is and the work that she did. If anyone from Jackson south would like to contact me, I am always available and will gladly respond

This was the most unsanitary and unprofessional experience of my life. Jackson South was a nightmare for my mother after taking her in to do an MRI. The MRI tech was very unprofessional, he grabbed a random nurse from the hallway who was transporting a patient to draw my moms blood and this nurse did it without gloves, then lo and behold she wasn't able to get a vein after blowing out 3 of my moms veins, the entire time the MRI tech was pretending to assist and also put his bare hands on the needle/catheter while the nurse was removing it from my mom's arm. I haven't done a follow up with my mom's doctor to rule out infection yet but this hospital is looking forward to a horrendous lawsuit in the coming days if god forbid something happens. Then he took my mom to the ER to have someone find a vein to draw blood and brand new nurses in there had no idea what they were doing. NEW NURSES IN THE ER is a HORRIBLE decision to begin with, and if they are there then where the hell was the preceptor. These people either want to kill their patients of they want to run experiments as a way to train those unskilled nurses, but my mother was only there to have her blood drawn for the MRI, imagine patients coming in on an EMERGENCY basis. If there is no difference in a new nurse drawing blood and an ER nurse drawing blood, that should SCARE the hospital because if you're working in the ER I would hope they know what they're doing, but they don't. This hospital is a death sentence to it's vulnerable and sick patients. The MRI tech's supervisor had to intervene and get a trauma nurse to draw my mothers blood who magically found a vein that no one found. What makes it worse is that before my mom had them run their poor training on her, she went to phlebotomy because they had to draw blood in order to make sure she can have the MRI and the phlebotomist was able to find her veins easily and knew the correct sanitary methods to do it. The MRI tech kept threatening to have something put in my mothers neck to retrieve blood at which point I started losing my patience and calling up everyone I knew I main Jackson management department and doctors in hopes that someone professional from there would be able to help and they advised me to immediately take her out of there and come to main Jackson. Since my mom was already so worn out from this terrible treatment she was crying to get it over with and we did. Come to find out the MRI tech gave images of the MRI that were mostly unreadable to the radiologist so the results were inconclusive because I was watching my mother each step of the way through the MRI, and he blamed it on her movements. I wasted so much money here and unfortunately had to come here due to my mom not having insurance and they took advantage of a helpless situation. I do not care much for the money lost as much as I care about my mother being alright, she is a diabetic and I hope she did not contract anything from their unprofessional manner. this is DISGUSTING and this is not tolerable in healthcare, this hospital was the worst experience. My mom is still not feeling well and we dread going here. There is nothing here for someone who needs to be treated, they are absolutely ridiculous not to mention a danger to a patients health. This has to be a violation of some sort but I hope this gets to higher management.

There is no personnel working on the weekends. My father was almost found on the floor. The food was left on the tray and he was not sat to eat or the food brought so he may eat. He tells me, he called the nurse station twice and no one came to take him to the bathroom ... No one checked in him for over 4 hours. I work and think that if he is in a hospital, he is well taken care off... Think again.

Great attention and care! I’ve had 2 surgeries there with in the year. Love my dr and nurses. Problem** My only issue is that I was asked for my co payment 900+ on the day of surgery 5/30 and it was billing incorrect (I guess) hospital got the full pay and I’ve been waiting on a refund since then. As time are tough now and other Drs bills I need my refund

I’ve only been here for the pediatric unit twice. Both times my kid was treated like royalty, no wait, straight into a room in the back. The Dr’s and personnel are caring, knowledgeable, honest and kind. The area and bathrooms were very clean. Overall a great experience, I hope my kids don’t get sick or hurt but if they do this is the place I will go and always recommend.

I dont write reviews often, but I just had to share the impressive care I received at Jackson South last week. I went in for knee surgery, and everyone, I mean, everyone I encountered was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and eager to help. They really delivered the best care I've ever received. I had a great experience. Too bad there's no option for 10 stars.

I was there last year for a infected abscess. They treated me great. The doctors, nurses and staff in general were amazing. Better than Jackson Main and Jackson North. Thank you so much for taking such good care of me and being so compassionate for my issues. In the past week, I’ve been extremely sick went to the hospital no one could do anything for me. Now I am terrified that something is extremely wrong and don’t know where to go I have been feeling extremely sick for a few days. I am terrified because I’ve gone to hospital and I am traumatized at how poorly I was treated and don’t know where to go. Can you help me please?

I was in Key West for a wedding. Was attacked, had 8 facial fractures & the some. Was & airlifted here (Jackson South). These people took great care of me. Made me feel very comfortable & were super helpful throughout my whole stay. I am very great ful & thankful for their care. All the staff who i was in contact with during my stay was very professional but I must say they went above & beyond with their service. Thank you & God bless.

My family and I had some challenging times while visiting Jackson Critical Care Dept. Our mother was hospitalized in July 9, and spent about 2 weeks in Critical Care. The security staff would change protocol every week! We did our best to communicate with the charge nurse on shift, explaining that our family was huge and that each day 2 -4 family members will visit our elderly mother. I personally put a restriction code in place to ensure that visitors would be family only. Once we arrived , there was one young man that purposely gave our family a hard time saying that only 1 visitor was allowed at a time, we couldn’t wait in the waiting area upstairs etc. Physician administered MULTIPLE opioids at a time without explaining its purpose. I encourage everyone to be sure to visit / stay close to your love ones who are in critical care. Always ASK questions because the staff aren’t fourth coming about anything! My 87 yr old mother was basically used as a Ginny Pig!! My siblings and I definitely had to keep our eyes open. There were certain procedures we avoided because of her age and the risks, if any was never explained. I felt more could have been done, more test to help her condition. Unfortunately we lost her after deciding to put her in comfort care. She grew tired of the treatment and didn’t feel comfortable at all! Some staff were very helpful and some weren’t, especially those who were being discrete about the type’s of medicine that were being administered!

Worst experience of my life, treated me very rudely and wanted to kick my son out on the streets , because he’s been there for “12 days” At one point Norma the social worker ok the psyche unit refused to transfer me to a supervisor even though it is my right ! Then Francis kept transferring me around and said they have no option for me. I Cannot believe the rudeness and attitude of this unit in psych especially the social workers

Emergency was good, the nurses, the pct, even the doctor when we saw was were all great. Once we got the room and saw the doctor everything was running smoothly. Unfortunately, it's terribly under staffed. I waited over an hour for water to which I just decided to give up my own water. The nurse saw me once and that's it. Everyone is busy and moving and has been very helpful (if it wasn't for them there would be 1 star). More people need to be added to the staff to provide patients with the attention necessary. As I'm writing this, I have not seen anyone stop our room since I ran the patient bell 20 mins ago. We've been here since 7:15ish pm and it's currently 11:30 pm and in this room for 2 hours. When will we get discharged? No idea.

I can honestly say I had a great experience. I came into urgent care and everyone made me feel cared about. I also had my four year old son with me and they treated him like if it was their own child. My nurse Isadora made me feel so comfortable and made me smile even though I felt so sick. I loved the fact that they were so urgent with everything, bloodwork, IV, and meds. Thank you🫶🏾

I'm really sad to write this. This is completely from my experience, and my opinion. I held Jackson in great esteem, even after they sent my mom out in a body bag after a procedure. The background on that is that My mom died during what was described by the doctor as a minor procedure when the doctor slipped and cut her pulmonary artery. Really. This fellow's license was revoked in other states, yet was allowed to kill my mom in Florida. The doctors that I have experienced at Jackson have discounted suggestions by "the care team" because like one said to the team "I AM THE DOCTOR!" Really? People think like this? Especially when someone's life is being treated? In my opinion, that is a horrible attitude. I don't have much good to say about Jackson any longer.... Except for the non registered staff. Like housekeeping? Rock stars. Food services? Rock stars. Most of the CNA and that level of care? Most of them rock stars. Doctors and nurses? Most of them Zero stars. Some are great, but completely in my opinion there are way too many bad apples to justify going there in the near future. I will do whatever I can to avoid Jackson until I hear positive results that things have changed.

Employees greet you in only Spanish and when you ask them if they speak English, they roll their eyes. My husband does not need to go through the struggle with a language barrier when being a patient. He had surgery on June 15.l, 2023 and was brought to the floor around 8:30pm. Nurse nor tech did not come in to see him until 2:30am. My daughter spoke to the tech that was sitting outside his room when she left at 930pm. She reassured her he would be taken care of! Not seeing a post-op patient until 230am is unacceptable. This is not safe practice. I would have stayed the night but he was in a semiprivate room and they pushed me out at 9:45pm. The patient in the bed next to him asked to take a shower, the nurse said she would be right back, she never returned, even after multiple calls to the nursing station. He was alone all day and the nursing staff only came to see him twice. Something has to change with this healthcare system! Saddens me to have to write this but it’s unacceptable! Only reason I bumped up the review to a 2 stars was because of the OR/ Pre-Op, PACU staff and physicians!

I’m giving 1 star because I can give zero. I just went to the ER via Rescue and I was never put in a room(was told none available), instead I was taken to the ER triage area and left seating on a chair for 1 hour and half before I even got my pain medication. The admission process is horrible, nursing assessment is poor due to lack of staff or at least that’s what I was told. The person doing my EKG was texting while I was waiting not knowing I I was having an MI or an abdominal aneurysm. Saw a stretcher in the hallway and put myself on it without anyone asking me anything. IV bag was hung and no one came back to check if it was finished or not, I had to literally adjust the IV dropping factor and even clamp the IV once it was finished. On top of everything took me walking to have the.X-ray done again without knowing if I was having a more serious condition. After the CT and after 8 hours waiting I was ready to be discharged when a tech from the Radiology department came to pick me up for an abdominal ultrasound something that was ordered at 4pm. End of the story I was in the ER for 8 hours and thanks god it was just gallbladder stones not a heart attack, an intestinal obstruction or and abdominal aneurysm. I will not recommend this hospital to anyone and I feel bad saying this because I delivered my baby there in 2009 and had visited it again like 3 years ago and it was not like that. Hope the administration sees all these reviews and do something about it.

I have nothing but positive things to say about this hospital. I was there in the surgical center for a small procedure and my Head Nurse Kevin Arthur was beyond AMAZING! The nicest, most gentle man. If you're having a procedure done in this hospital I hope you have Kevin as your nurse. He will make sure you feel at ease and comfortable. 100% the BEST nurse I've encountered! Thank you Kevin Arthur for all you do for your patients!

My mom shattered her hip and EMTs said they were taking her to South Jackson. She wanted to go to a different hospital, but she was brought to Jackson. Thank God! It was a wonderful experience, all the staff - from ER to Surgery to follow up- was first rate, professional, highly competent and pleasant. Highly recommend over Baptist or elsewhere.

I came to Jackson South Hospital because i suffered a trauma Jan 14 . The staff was very friendly and helpful. They were aware for everything . I came back due to an abscess on my left ankle , everything in the ER went very quickly , the doctors were working and asking questions and everyone was on the same page. The nurses were so kind , friendly, respectful and helpful. Efrain Rodriguez was my nurse for the days that i was there and I absolutely love the way he puts patients first , he cares for them and goes above and beyond for their needs . I felt very comfortable with his service , and my family is very grateful to have him as the nurse that took care of me ! He will take care of his patients needs quickly and his attitude is amazing ! He made my experience here very smoothly ! I will always value nurses like him , hopefully they will be valued for their hardwork .

ED RN Lissy (Lisandra Alvarez) Super sweet! Very helpful. She kept me updated on my condition. She kept me comfortable the whole time I was in the ER. We need more people like her working in her field . She is a people’s person. She was amazing!

The ICU at Miami Jackson South was beyond amazing. All of the nurses and doctors that attended to my father were kind and empathic. Unfortunately, nothing could be done to save my father however they eased the pain for my mom and me during the time he was in there.

I had an exceptional experience at Jackson South Emergency Room, where the staff made me feel like a part of their family. Special shoutouts to Sonia, the head nurse from the 2nd floor, and RN Michelle for their outstanding care. The facility was impressively clean, and every member of the team demonstrated the utmost professionalism. I highly recommend Jackson South Emergency Room for their welcoming atmosphere and top-notch healthcare service.
