I've lived in the Bay Area all my life and have never been here. What a hidden gem! If you've got little kids, the mini farm is awesome to check out and feed the animals and if you're looking for beautiful hiking trails , Tilden has that in abundance. Oh....and it's free?! Bit of a winding road and drive to get there but totally worth it AND on the way there's BEAUTIFUL views of the Bay overlooking San Francisco. Total photo ops! Enjoy!

Only did a small quick hike here but it was beautiful! Most of the trails are wide and very flat. Good for mountain biking, walking dogs, going for runs. Mostly low in the trees but maybe it goes up to! There was a little path through the trees with wooden path!

Great area to hang out on a sunny day, be it with grown ups or with the little people. Animal farm is still there, Steam Train is closed down for the time being but there are many trails to do your discoveries and open new conversations with you loved ones.

Always a beautiful spot to hike, be a quick loop or an all day adventure. Trails are marked and parking is plentiful. Dogs allowed on some trails. These photos are from the Jewel Lake Loop! Definitely worth a visit. Another stellar East Bay park

A nice place to bring your little ones to get to meet farm animals for free! They don't have fees to get in to this area, and they'll allow you to feed the animals so remember to pack some celery, lettuce and carrots! They typically have cows, ducks, chickens, bunnies, goats, sheep, turkeys, and I guess I'm missing one or two.

A very nice area with many hiking trails, scenic viewpoints, and a lot of fun activities for family and kids. There is a farm where kids can feed farm animals. There is also a fun steam train ride around the forest with very nice views. Along the roads and hiking trails there are multiple viewpoints with a panoramic view of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge.

This area hosts lots of cool community events, all within a few feet from the Little Farm and miles of Berkeley-Oakland trails. I went for the Tilden Fungus Fair 2024 and it was a great mushroomy time.

This was one of the visit out of many previous to specifically to the petting zoo inside the park. Kids have blast. They have cows, goat, ducks, chicken, rabbit, pigs and you can feed them too. Bring lots of Celery, Carrot, and spinach. Have Fun!

My 9 month old son and I had a blast this Friday. I would highly recommend bringing your family. All you have to do is bring your own vegetables (celery and lettuce) to feed animals . You’ll love it . We’ll be back soon .

I'm a huge fan of parks, and boy let me tell ya this is a good one, featuring beautiful views of nature with trails to really immerse yourself into the surroundings. On top of that there's a nice little farm with animals you can feed (do keep in mind that this is a BYOV [bring your own vegetables] establishment, I recommend bringing celery and lettuce, or just celery if your options are limited). On top of that, the weather should almost always be great but do watch out as last time I was there there were hundreds, if not thousands, of children on a field trip. Overall though, a great experience that I would recommend.

I went here about 9 years ago, and it was such a fun experience. Massive pigs and cows. Maybe it was due to coming during a warmer time of the year, but it was pretty lacking. Granted, it is free, and you are allowed to bring celery and/or lettuce to feed the animals, which is a lot of fun.

Attended a two years old birthday party not far from the Little Farm which was fun to see for adults and children. The grassy area was perfect for children to play and enjoy the perfect outdoors from early afternoon to after six making for a nice celebration.

Nice place to bring your family here. The number of animals have declined over the years. There seem to be less each time I come back. You can bring lettuce or celery to feed the animals. No other vegetable is allowed. If you are not interested in animals then go to the visitor center, which is more educational. There are also trails nearby that you can hike.

Great playground and wonderful petting farm. We brought lettuce and celery to feed the animals and our 3yr old loved it.

Always enjoy walking any of the trails here. Lately it's been interesting to see the lake disappear and now return because of all the rain.

We had an amazing time at the Little Farm. Make sure you bring lettuce and celery so you can feed the animals.

Nice place to picnic at before walking it off around the trails. I see it more of a family type area since they have the nature area there with the animals around where you can feed them some veggies that they love. They also have a little playground there where you can enjoy it for a while before heading back home. Plus side to it all, is that they have some decent restrooms there for the family to use. My kids lasted a good 3 hrs around there without complaints, so I would bring them again some other time.

I visit often, weekends are crowded, weekdays there are fewer people. The park is wonderful. I enjoy hiking and these trails are wonderful.

There'ye multiple different spots in the area to check out,all are close walking distance from the parking lots. It's in the hills of Berkeley,so the view is beautiful! It is definitely a Fun and exciting nature experience for the whole family, and it wasn't too crowded. They have farm animals you can feed and pet, which was hands on and interesting.
