No longer info center - pls take note! It’s an office. Staff directed us to Info Center on Beach St / Lebuh Pasar (also suggested getting maps from hotel opposite, but only had Chinese language maps left). Beautiful building and lots within walking distance to explore (coffee, street art, heritage).

The Georgetown World Heritage Inc. is located in a two-storey colonial building at the intersection of Lebuh Carnarvon and Lebuh Acheh. Opening hours are 8am-5pm Monday to Friday, closed on weekends and holidays. This is where you can pick up maps and brochures for the World Heritage Zone in George Town. There is additional information regarding activities throughout Penang. Staff were polite and the building is air-conditioned as well, making for a nice break from the heat. There is a particularly useful brochure that is brown-orange and has the George Town World Heritage Inc. on the front cover. This brochure displays the location of many World Heritage places that you might want to visit in George Town. On the back of the brochure is a brief description of each attraction as well. We also found the white colour 'Marking George Town' brochure, which details the location of the various art murals around the city. This is a fun activity and the brochure-map is quite useful for helping you make your way around the city. There are a couple of historic building models, large wall maps to look over and a small gift (souvenir) section in the Georgetown World Heritage Inc. In the end, we found the (free) services provided here quite helpful and useful for supporting visits to George Town. It is worth making a stop here if you need information prior to starting your sightseeing in the World Heritage zone.

Popular tourist destinations in Penang are the street art murals and architectural beauty of the city. You can enjoy various kinds of murals by walking leisurely. There are lots of photo spots but you have to take turns if there are lots of people who want to take pictures. There are various kinds of snacks also in the vicinity. You can also buy various kinds of souvenirs typical of Penang. If you are tired of walking, you can take a trishaw. My advice is to go for a walk in the morning or evening, because it's very hot during the day😁 Don't forget to have sunscreen, a hat or an umbrella. Penang hot is real😂

An office of an organization that strives to protect the cultural heritage of the George Town UNESCO World Heritage Site, this building was once a health clinic owned by Dr. Ong Huck Chye, and to this day it is still very well maintained. This place is visited by many foreign tourists to get information about the cultural heritage of the city of George Town, I as a foreign tourist who gets a lot of interesting information about this city with all its cultural wealth.

The architecture of this Prince of Wales island (not penang, because was always British without any local civilization) is very charming because melting Europe knowledge and primitive Asian cultures, but don't suggest you to stay more than a few days, the population is generally very racist, close minded especially the Chinamen, the city is getting worse in recent years with very high prices for Malaysia, poor services, stinky roads, very low quality hotels and rooms, nothing to rent and a law put the foreign to whom they own everything in the impossibility to buy houses. My real professional opinion is stated by several statistics as the increased scam crime of local people, high Chinese racism especially the women and the very low reviews ratings about hotels. Plus, no bus to botanical gardens and the national park abandoned in a state of dangerous walking paths... Many restaurants see western people and try higher prices, nobody looks at you unless you pay something, they give you a fake smile.....

This is an office, not a public facing space. It seems it used to be a tourist information centre of some form, when we tried to entry we were told it was an office building. A sign stating something similar to above would be useful. I guess they'll have people ringing their doorbell until they do!

This is a small library specialized in Culture and Heritage of Penang and Malaysia. They have the 3D model of UNESCO Heritage zone of George Town. They close during the lunch break from 12:30 - 13:30.
