Batu caves murugan temple. Been here many times. 3rd tallest statue in the world. Yes the temple located on the top of the hill so visitors have to climb about 200 over steps to reach it. Some clown was mentioning it's total waste of time to climb all the steps because there is nothing to see on the top. What kind of statement is this? First of all is a temple not an entertainment center or shopping mall. It's a religious site for Hindus across the country as well world. Hindus know well the rules here. But for the rest visitors who wish to visit this temple which is also one of the most famous tourist spots in Malaysia : Dressing: there's a dress code rule but since it's not strictly enforced so many people hang around with inappropriate clothing like tights and revealing clothing. Please be in appropriate cloths. Bottle water: Try to bring along bottle drinking water, you will desperately need it if you climb to the top. There are few stalls selling the drinking water on the hill top but it will cost you 5 times greater price. Beware of monkeys: Monkeys are everywhere around this temple. Don't bring any food in carry bags as the monkey mighy attack you for the food. Selfie and photography: it's a famous activity here. Nothing wrong about it but please make sure you not blocking the way when you pose for the picture especially during Thaipusam. I got witnessed the scenario where while the devotees carrying milk and kavadi climbing the steps some posers without sense blocking the way to take few selfie shots.

Came here to fulfill my assignment for my university. When i arrived, omg it's so beautiful. The colorful of stairs are really shook my eyes. Not recommend for old people because you have to climb up to see at the hill. Make sure to warm up before going up because you're gonna feel the pain after that. Please came here with your professional photographer if you want you picture came out perfect.

The cave is one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside India, and is dedicated to Murugan. It is the focal point of the Tamil festival of Thaipusam in Malaysia. The limestone forming Batu Caves is said to be around 400 million years old. Some of the cave entrances were used as shelt

The Sri Subramaniar Swamy Temple, located within Batu Caves in Malaysia, is a revered Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Murugan. This sacred site, intricately adorned with vibrant sculptures and intricate carvings, serves as a focal point for spiritual worship and cultural celebrations. Devotees climb the steep stairs leading to the temple, seeking blessings and offering prayers in a unique blend of natural beauty and religious devotion. The temple's presence within Batu Caves adds a rich layer to the overall cultural and religious experience, making it a significant pilgrimage site and a symbol of Malaysia's diverse heritage.

Beautifully located in limestone cave. Welcoming by flock of pigeons at the foothills near the Murugan statue. There are some delicious South Indian restaurants at the base. Arduous to climb up but fine. Can view the beauty of city including famous Twin tower from the steps. There is a dress code for women. Large parking space is available. No nearby restrooms, there was one at the entrance of the parking which is stinky and not clean. Beware of monkeys, they all always ready to grab your stuff. It was nice to get refreshing coconut water for after climb down.

Nothing extra to say except it's the most popular temple in Malaysia, besides being the site for the biggest Thaipusam celebration in Malaysia. On normal weekdays, parking is adequate, but can get hectic and packed on weekends, and especially on festive days. A must visit spot for tourists. Will feel the aura and divine vibrations.

One of the main temple in Batu Caves and is located inside the cave. Need to climb over 200 steps all the way to the top if you plan to visit this temple. No shoes are allowed inside the temple. You can find many people visit here for prayers especially during huge festive seasons.

Worth a visit if you're in KL

Such a lovely and divine place to visit. Climbing the 272 and odd steps is an experience. The caves at the top present a beautiful visual treat to the eyes. There is a temple at the top but you have to remove your footwear to enter. Divine sannidhi for Vinayagar and Muruga at the top. At the base there is a temple with Vinayagar, Meenakshi Amman, Shiva, big Nandhi and nearby Venkatachalapathy and Anjaneyar temples. There are traditional Indian restaurants near and shopping areas with ample parking space. Try climbing steps bare foot for better comfort and grip on the steps... Do not carry any bags or food items on the steps as it attracts the monkeys.

Beautiful temple, caves and statue of lord muruga. Short drive from KL. 2 ringgit to enter by car. Visited on a weekday afternoon when the temples were closed. Many birds and monkeys were hanging out near the lower temple, snacking on banana and crisps (you can buy these off vendors to feed these animals). Recommended visit. If nothing else just go for photos

Beautiful place to visit. If you want to come for a visit, please come on weekdays after people already went for work. If you come on weekend, be prepared to stuck in jammed for almost 1hrs even you are nearby batu caves. Don’t bring plastic, cause the mischievous monkey will grab it from you. If you want to experience like you’re in India, come visit this place.

The world famous Lord Murugan Temple at Batu Caves. The main temple is situated up in the cave. We have to climb up 272 concrete steps to reach the upper caves. Its fun to take a slow walk of your stamina is good. Heart patients are not advised to climb. We'll get breathaking view of the Batu Caves / Selayang area as we go higher. Used to be a lot of monkeys on the stairs. Lesser now. The ascend to the temple itself is considered as a symbol of victory. You'll get full blessings of Sri Subramaniar (Murugan).

Today's facts (Hindu temple in Batu cave) As one of the biggest attractions in Malaysia, Batu Caves is a limestone hill consisting of beautiful caves, temples and Hindu shrines. Apart from its stunning caves, the main attraction is the colossal gold-painted statue of Murugan (Hindu God of War), which took three years to build.

The first stop on our guided tour of the sights of Kuala Lumpur. Lots of monkeys and tourists. Women need to cover their legs to enter. Just be prepared for a steep set of steps to reach the cave entrance. Definitely worth a visit.

We went afternoon, it was very sunny and couldn't pose to stand for a photo infront of Kumar Swamy for a good pic, because of the direct sun on the eyes. Lot of monkeys, so be careful when you have kids with you. There is a stall which give you food for pegions for a 5 ringitt exchange, try it, would be fun with pegions for atleast 2 minutes. Overall good to spend sometime over there.

This is a very amazing and famous temple of Malaysia. The atmosphere here is mind-blowing. When I reached here, an Aarti was taking place, after which a Hindu citizen of Malaysia got the priest to do special worship for his personal work. After that he distributed Prasad there which was very tasty. In that prasad there was semolina sweet pudding and coffee. After that I bought a lamp worth 3 myr and lit it there.

Lord Muruga statue in Batu Caves, is the tallest statue in Malaysia. The Batu Caves temple complex has 3 main caves. The biggest is at the top, after a climb of 272 steps. This temple is a big tourist attraction & an import place of pilgrimage for Tamil Hindus. It is the centre point of Hindu festival of Thaipusam in Malaysia.
