After an early morning run at Hart Park, I came to Johns Burgers for breakfast. I ordered Chicken fried steak w/ 3 eggs, cottage potatoes and sourdough toast, plus 4 sausage links and coffee. Oh boy, was it the best ever! Any time I'm on the North East side of town, I pick this restaurant because of the great food and friendly service! It's always 5 Stars for me!!! This is an interesting diamond in the rough. I really enjoy the food. They technically do not have an indoor dining room, which is interesting. They also have a drive through that receives customers on the right. I prefer to order at the window and use their covered patio. I like their breakfast, it's simple and good. I also like their dinner plates. I think the lamb gyros are my favorite, but I also like their burgers.

Employees are super nice. Love the chilli cheese fries too. Their food is delicious.

There is a girl by the name of Jessica that is super rude. Terrible customer service. I was in line and had a guy ask me how this place was and I raved about how great it was. Then I had a terrible experience right after. Over all a great place just a terrible choice in who they hired.

We been coming here for YEARS and just recently been given bad attitude and rude over the refills that threw us back as customer. We might look like homeless but we are not. Please charge us extra for the drink if we change our minds on what we want on refills... whether it's water ,soda or carbonated water. TRUST ME WE ARE NOT TRYING TO CHEAT YOU. We just like to change our drinks. Charge us same price if we want water or soda or carbonated soda. like that there's no issue. We are truly going to miss this place.

I love to support local places, and the food is delicious! But the service is SO slow and unfriendly, and order mistakes seem to be the norm. I won't be coming back

Waited 20 min than food was cold and all Pattie’s have a burnt taste my granddaughters grill cheese was burnt spent $82 and it’s all shit… will never go there again ..haven’t been in a few years so I wanted my kids to try it and I put this place on a pedestal, well I had another thing coming cause it’s NOTHING like it used to be … staff was friendly but food cold,burnt and a waste of $$

As good as at was when I was a kid. Worth the drive across town for a breakfast burrito and some fried mushrooms.

This is got to be the most complete burger spot in California. The food is prepared fast and has the quality and flavor of a 5 star restaurant . Was short a dollar and manager went above and beyond and paid it so I could keep my Dr pepper freeze. It's a little above average in price but u definitely get ur money's worth.

Food is always so good this is my childhood place to go for a good burger.

The food was good but whoever was taking orders for the drive through was rude. She kept correcting me on how I was ordering. It just came off as combative. No need to come back until that's fixed.

This food was so good! My wife got a burger, I got the shrimp basket, and we split some fried mushrooms and zucchini! I wish we lived closer because I would eat here daily!

Great food. Love the all day breakfast option. The only thing I hate is the dine-in and the restrooms.... unfortunately gotta jus do drive thru. If you're the type of person that likes to get their food and go home, perfect. I'm not but because the food is so good I still do it LOL. Well worth it and great prices!

I'm like a food critic, and I came from Alaska, and I came to this place from a Local Person who recommended this place. I have massive high-quality taste buds for food and more on the menu to try out. The chili Cheese Fries are by far the best I've tried in Bakersfield so far since I've been here for about a month, and the customer service is well mannered and helpful with a warm smile greeting, I'm a BIG fan of avocado and bacon, and the California Burger tasted just like eating it homemade at backyard bbq hangout of the way it should taste unique that I really enjoyed, and the Raspberry Ice Tea was refreshing. Overall very fulfilling due to the massive portions👍, so what I tried so far was perfect massive portions for just Chili Cheese Fries and amazing Chunky California Burger for the right price to have a happy belly of enjoyment. If you wanna enjoy they food and stay cool or warm from, then park and come inside or walk here and enjoy the amazing atmosphere they have and the clean environment while dining in or drive through. They also have condiments to get or ask for ranch. I highly recommend them for when you're hungry or family dine in or if you're in a hurry. I have a few recommendations, I would request is big flyer singns or lights of a guide to the restaurant when people drive by on the main roads for a more viewable seen and attraction and more longer drive through. Wonderful experience here and I'll be for be sure to coming back for more and other food to try out on the menu.
