We
visited
Alila
before
the
pandemic
for
the
thought
of
doing
our
wedding
there;
we
found
the
resort
beautiful,
so,
we
booked
four
night
stay
in
the
King
Deluxe,
which
was
the
lowest
tier
of
their
rooms.
We
paid
almost
AUD320
a
night.
We
are
still
mesmerized
by
the
lobby
area
(though
at
night
it
is
simply
too
dark),
the
main
pool,
and
direct
access
to
the
beach;
it's
just
beautiful.
However,
to
our
surprise,
we
didn't
know
the
Deluxe
rooms
we've
booked
were
secluded
in
a
different
building
away
from
the
main
one.
Our
facility
definitely
had
a
different
vibe,
doesn't
have
all
the
perks
we
see
in
the
main
building,
and
it
didn't
feel
like
a
$300
a
night
experience
anymore.
We
only
learnt
then
that
the
rooms
in
the
main
building
are
only
suites.
If
we
have
booked
the
suites,
we
could
have
stayed
in
the
main
building,
but
we
didn't
know.
We
felt
like
our
room
is
underwhelming
for
the
price
we
pay.
The
room
felt
average,
with
no
desk
(which
we
needed
to
work
remotely),
a
small
bathroom,
and
a
shower.
We
could
hear
someone
slurping
coffee
in
the
morning
and
browsing
the
cabinet
from
either
the
next
room
or
the
room
on
top
of
us.
There
are
opportunities
to
improve
the
deluxe
rooms;
however,
at
the
moment,
it
felt
like
the
deluxe
rooms
were
an
afterthought,
there
was
no
experience,
and
it
felt
like
people
who
booked
the
deluxe
rooms
were
tucked
away
and
were
not
to
be
seen.
We
may
have
had
different
experiences
if
we
booked
the
suites,
but
a
lack
of
communication
about
the
rooms
led
to
misaligned
expectations.
