Visiting Key West Tropical Forest was one of the best parts of my trip!! There is a bunch of different wildlife, including colorful butterflies at this location. I loved how well maintained the forest/garden was. The pathway to walk on was cleaned & the staff was friendly. We went early in the morning so it wasn’t crowded. We saw the staff cleaning/maintaining the property & a group on ladies doing yoga. Overall, such a great experience seeing all of the tropical plants.

Really lovely Botanical Garden, a nice hour or so walk through the native forest that once covered the keys. Species are tagged well and lots of "tree bathing" style walks and paths. I really love that this is here on an island thats pretty built up and concrete covered now

One of the best kept secrets of the island. The Key West Tropical Forrest and Botanical Garden is a sight to be seen. It’s beauty, smell, sense of tranquility, and natural aura is a truly magical experience. Coming from an island known for it’s party scene, this will bring a sense of peace that’s sure to bring a smile to your face. I absolutely recommend this to everyone local and visiting.

Found this place via Google Maps and it was a nice reprieve from the mayhem of Duval Street. $10/person for about an hour walk through the gardens seemed reasonable and parking is free and easy. Really enjoyed the butterfly garden and glad we stopped by.

The Cuban chugs are very interesting to see. Recommend going after the summer. Too hot now. Beautiful botanical gardens and butterflies!

If you appreciate gardens and being out in nature, this is well worth a stop. They have lots of native trees and plants, butterflies and a ton of birds. If you enjoy birding, bring your binoculars! There were so many species there from warblers to shore birds. They also have a tropical hardwood hammock trail which I appreciated. Great signage in the garden with lots of information. There are bike racks, a refillable water station and tables if you want to have a picnic. Well worth the 20 minute bike ride from Old Town, the historic district in Key West.

Great place to learn about the flora and fauna of the Florida Keys. Your visit will be enhanced if you use the audio tour on your mobile phone.

Visited the botanical gardens with my family, and it was a bit disappointing. There was construction going on all around the gardens, so it wasn't very peaceful. It was more of a basic trail than a botanical garden, and I do not think the price reflects that. I think if they added either a few manicured garden areas or sculptural art throughout the trail it could be really interesting and way more eye catching! Overall, I think for $10 a person it's not worth it when there are state parks with trails much more beautiful where you can get the whole family in for $10.

A beautiful stroll through native Florida species. Being able to stand amongst a strand of critically endangered Wax Palms was especially wonderful. Prehistoric.

The only frost-free, sub-tropical, natural conservation habitat, native plant botanical garden in the continental United States! This historic, rare ecosystem provides a safe and educational alternative through these trying times. There are 15.2 acres of native garden and forest to explore on the six-to-10-foot-wide, ADA compliant boardwalks and nature Garden logotrails. Travelers have plenty of room for social distancing, walking your dogs and breathing the fresh air under a magnificent open sky in the company of abundant native flora and fauna. This outdoor refuge is the antidote to the coronavirus blues. Spring and summer are glorious with native plants in bloom and plenty of birds and butterflies as part of Mother Nature’s annual migration wonder.

This garden really is a hidden gem. Make time to visit. Sit on a bench and let nature come to you. Bring your binoculars because the birds like this garden too.

Absolutely gorgeous gardens! If there wasn't a construction nearby, it would have been a quiet relaxing experience for us. We loved it so much! Don't miss the opportunity to play on several instruments by the pond, those marimbas are very soothing.

Decent little place to check out. Love that we hit it during the blue star something or other so it was free to our military family. Was neat seeing what the keys are supposed to look like versus what they have become. Lots of walking (obviously) but not very stroller friendly.

I enjoyed my visit to the Botanical garden. Some of the highlights that I liked were the Cuban Palm trees, the Cuban Chug exhibit and the numerous champion trees. The signs describing the trees and the audio guide were also great.

This was a great experience. Lots to see. Make sure to see the chugs. They're a bit hidden, but well worth it!

Very nice walking trails with indigenous plant life, butterflies, and curly tailed lizards. Periodically has free entrance on Saturdays when the local garden club has a market.

A beautifully maintained and peaceful spot. You don't have to be into plants to enjoy this garden. A very nice change of pace from the hustle and bustle of Duval St. Very informative and relaxing. Check out the very rare Lollipop palms in the Cuban palm section. Grown from seed and donated by yours truly.

It's kinda cool walking around but honestly it's not the best botanical gardens I have been in. It gave us something to do for about an hour and was decent to see the cool plants

Great spot to check out. Entry price is steep but it's for a great cause.

Nice garden, takes around 1 hour. Definitely nice to walk around in the morning

The collection of Keys and Florida native vegetation is impressive. But it was frustrating that some of the most interesting plants weren't labelled, and the on-line tour omits many of the marked stops. Staff is not keeping this up to date. The QR code at the entrance kiosk did not, despite its label, link to Paypal so we could pay our donation easily.
