Disappointing experience overall: 1. the high resort fees i was not expecting to pay as it didn't appear in the total of my reservation but in the blur on the side 2. we couldn't enjoy at all the old house - which was the point of booking in a charming B&B vs. a chain motel. many parts were closed and we accessed our room through the parking/pool 3. no breakfast in the charming house. They asked us to take it in the gloomy lobby of the hotel accross the street - clearly disappointing 4. our room had shutters that were fixed so no natural light at all :( Overall, very expensive for what it was and this impression of paying for "resort fees" that clearly are not justified. Good location tough, walking distance to everything there is to see.

Wonderful and very welcoming front desk staff. Beautiful architecture and grounds. Comfortable bed and a very nice bathroom. Great location but on a very busy street. The building itself is very poorly insulated. We could hear EVERYTHING through the walls. Got a pretty good chuckle out of it but not much sleep.

Book on the hotel’s site for best price. We stayed in room 205 which faces Truman — it’s a busy 2 lane road used to get in/out of Key West so it can be loud. It was the trade off to stay near the action. The room was excellent — after reading some reviews about the tiny bathrooms, I was apprehensive about booking, but ours was great as it had space on the sink as well as drawers. Shower fit us both comfortably. The room was spacious, clean and comfy with a beautiful ceiling fan and veranda with a couple of comfy chairs where we sat to enjoy drinks. It had a little fridge and microwave. Location made it easy to walk to Duval and get around Old Town. Beautiful Victorian. The staff was welcoming. The pool area was quaint — we didn’t have time for it. We also didn’t need the continental breakfast so that wasn’t a factor in my rating. It was pricey at a bit over $500/night but the cheapest I could find and worth the money given other options. Would def return.

We enjoyed our stay here and it was a great value for the location. People who wrote negative reviews here don’t seem to understand the cost of accommodation in Key West. This inn is at the center of Key West, meaning you can pretty much walk to all main attractions. When we stayed here, it was about $400 a night and literally this was the cheapest place to stay if we wanted to walk to Duval St instead of driving or taking a shuttle. Everything is quite expensive in Key West and $400 does not go very far. What you can get with $400 in New York city will cost you $800 in Key West, if not more. When we visited in March 2022, housekeeping was offered if requested, but we did not use it since we stayed for only 2 nights. Breakfast included made-to-order omelette bar at the pool across the street. The house had its own plunge pool and it was nice on hot, humid days. Usually we were the only ones using it. Room was big and had basic furniture. Bathroom was renovated and very nice.

Not a place I would recommend . We got there in the evening and are room was on the second floor . It was just as hot in are room as it was in the hallway coming into the room . I couldn’t believe it . Then we call the front desk and tell them it was hot in there and the a/ c was not working . So they sent a maintenance man over to check the room . He got the a/c to turn on and I told them that I got it to turn on but 7-8 minutes later it blinked 8 times and shut off . II then called the front desk again and told them what was happening and they told me the a/c is working fine it’s just me . Then two people show up to try and make me look stupid and finally realize that it is broken . So they want me and my wife to pack up our belongings and go to there motel 7 and stay there until they get it fixed . Of course not I said if I wanted to stay in a hotel like that I would have stayed at a motel 6 . And plus I spent about $2400 to enjoy a bed and breakfast . Which means in the same building not going across the street to eat at a Howard Johnson’s . Thankfully I did leave the same night and got a refund and we went back home in Daytona . But I’m sorry this is not a real bed n breakfast . I’d advise you to go stay somewhere else . You will regret it .

Lovely historic home. Loved our updated room by the pool. Free parking. Daily maid service. Nice pool. Only negative is you do not have use of the house, only your room. You check in a hotel across the street and eat breakfast (good) there too. Very busy street and a long walk to the tourist area or to catch the Duval Loop bus

La Pensione Inn is my favor place to stay in Key west. Because the rooms are very clean, neat, bed are comfortable, staffs very friendly, great free breakfast and I do recommend LA Pensions Inn.

Disappointing. Room was monastic: comfortable but without decor of any kind. Have to cross a busy street to the office to get coffee. Fire alarm went off at 6 am for no apparent reason. All in all, a disappointment, considering the cost.

Very disappointing & misleading. This is not a Bed & Breakfast. The dining area is completely shut down & there is no front office on the property. Instead, it is closed off & used as a storage room. You have to access a front office St the hotel across the street. They serve a meager continental breakfast in the lobby there. You have to cross a very loud & busy street to access breakfast. The room is very clean but not comfortable at all. The charm completely disappeared as soon as we entered. It's not cool to mislead guests by stating it's a Bed & Breakfast and charge $800 for two nights for a room that makes Best Western Express look like luxury. I will not stay here again.

We LOVED staying here. 1st, they have parking, not all places do. You do walk across the street to check in, but we did not have a problem with traffic. The staff was so kind and helpful. They found out it was our anniversary and upgraded our room, since someone had canceled out. (Thanks guys!) The room was beautiful, clean, updated and we loved sitting on the balcony. We did not use either of the two pools, but we did walk down there and it was so clean and lovely. We walked in the gardens and had they had lots of seating. The location was convenient to walk to Duval, in fact we walked to Mallory Square (.8 miles). Breakfast has the regular sweets, fruits, but there is an added bonus of omelettes made to order. We hope to come back.

Stayed one night, it’s a quite nice hotel, the rooms are large and the pool was a big plus. I deducted one star for the fact that you have to cross the road in order to get to the reception and also for the useless plastic cutlery and plates (we had to use during breakfast).

Absolutely loved our recent stay here!! The location was perfect and not too busy. We stayed in room 104, facing the pool and even when it was raining it was great! We only saw one other person staying there so it was very quiet. Emma at the front desk was very nice during check in, she told us everything we needed to know! The room was very spacious, bathroom was clean! We have no complaints and will definitely be staying there again!

Le Pensione Inn pretends to be a B&B which, in reality, it is not. Yes, it is a historic beautiful building and you would think that this is where you have your room and service. Nope. The lobby is locked and you are supposed to get your breakfast, or a cup of coffee at the Silverpalms Inn, a motel across very busy Truman ave. The breakfast is Super 8 style basic with nice addition of omelet station where they cook differenr kinda of omelets. They also have a pool you can use. That pool is better than the one at La Pensione which looks like a "concrete hole". This wouldn't have been a big deal had it not been for outrageous $168 "resort fee" charged. I used Expedia service, sorted by price low to high, this one came up at $131, was in the old city and had parking. Wonderful. Well, if it seems too good to be true, it is too good to be tue. With $168 on top, for 3 days it is $197 per nigt. That's before all the taxes. Not impressed for the price. I complained to Expedia for this "bait& switch" tactics and implored them to include fees in the advertised price from the get go - when you search for accomodations. The plus side - room is good, albeit a bit barren, location is great.

Beautiful house, with a lovely wrap around porch. We stayed by the pool, it was quiet and always clean. It’s for adult only so need to worry about loud noise or music. The rooms are big a bit plain but overall nice. There’s a garden on the side of the house which is private and usable for Lounging and reading. There’s also parking which is truly important. Duval street is about 10 minutes away and 3 minutes driving. We had a nice relaxing time. Yes you can’t go inside the house itself but it didn’t hamper the stay. With the heat that we are having now, it was nice to have the pool all for ourselves and the garden.

We stayed in la Pensione for Pride and it was wonderful. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean. The pool, breakfast and overall service were fantastic. Location a plus. Will stay again.

Loved our room. Loved staying in this historic home! We spent two nights for the Jimmy Buffett concert. Only a 20 minute walk to amphitheater and 10 minute walk to Duval.

Nice and tidy hotel. Worth value for price. Breakfast was very average but one of the few hotels that include breakfast in Key West :)

The location was great. Walking distance to everything. Our room was big with a big bathroom that had 2 shower heads! Had microwave and 1 cup coffee maker. AC worked great and bed was huge and comfortable. Staff was so friendly. Sister property had a continental breakfast which was good. Free parking.

This B&B was absolutely adorable! Great for a romantic escape with its cozy rooms and charming atmosphere. There is a lovely garden area and a pool to relax by. Very friendly staff as well. Located about a 10-15 walk from most attractions, which was nice because it was quieter at night. Also enjoyed walking through the cute neighborhood with its colorful cottages and Key West charm.

Not a bed and breakfast! 1. We paid $500 a night for a 13 x 13 room and bathroom. 2.They don't clean your room at all during your stay. 3. They advertise bed and breakfast, but don't expect bacon and eggs or anything good. You have to walk across the street to get bagels and coffee from another facility. No dining room they bag it in the lobby and send you on your way. 4. They do know how to maximize their profits!

    1. There are lots of cars and motorcycles in the night. And the soundproofing is not good. Hard to sleep 2. TV is not working 3. They didn't reset the alarm. We came for vacation, and the whole day was ruined by 6 am alarm left from previous guest!

Positive Things: The location was great, close to Duval. There was parking available. The pool was pretty nice. Disappointed by these things: 1. Covid practices aside, I would like the room to be cleaned, bed to be made and towels to be changed. They didn't do that once. I ended up leaving pool towels outside the room so the cleaning staff would take them. 2. Room was about 14 x 14, no closet, and the dresser was poorly sized for the space. 3. It's a bed and BREAKFAST, RIGHT? So why did I have to walk across the street to the other hotel this company owns for my breakfast which consisted of these options - 2 types of (probably frozen) bagels, orange juice, banana muffins and packaged yogurt. Not really acceptable considering the $500+ per night price tag. Come on, bring the bacon. 4. Bathroom itself was nice, but as I mentioned, no cleaning staff, so when we used up our single roll of toilet paper for a 5 night stay I had to hunt around for another. 5. No safe in the room. Would have preferred that for passports, etc.

Superb in all aspects. Great location, great service from the staff and incredibly clean. I couldn't find any dust anywhere not even outside. The bathroom was a piece of art as well as the bedroom. Vintage vibe in a very well kept 135 year old property. Takes you back in time. Wood everywhere in immaculate condition. Pool is clean and cozy and there is a garden on the back which is super cute. Great job guys. Congratulations!!
