All of the seafood here was absolutely delicious. This is why people come to the keys for this kind of fresh fish. Food is a 10/10.

Arrived for a Tuesday lunch at 11:30. Waited 15 minutes or so. Our meal was well worth the wait. Attention to detail by the chef and wait staff was evident. We both had the Yellowtail special over rice with a side salad. The flavors were delicious and harmonious. Nothing was “just plain”. The salad was dressed with a maple Dijon vinaigrette and the fish was enhanced by a tarragon cream sauce. Although our lunch was rather pricey ($30+ per person), it was well worth it. The Square Grouper exceeds the quality and service of most every other food establishment in the area.

We had our holiday party here and it was just fantastic! Lynn and our server (I think her name was Tracy?) were super friendly and fast on servicing our group and took great care of us. The food was DELICIOUS and we will definitely come back soon.

Oh yeah baby, this is what I needed. I don’t think I ate so much food in all my life. The fries are great the everything is great. If you are coming to the keys this is a must go! The Philly cheesesteak was perfect from the crunchy bread to the gooey cheese. I’ll be back!

Absolutely incredible! I wish that I could give 6 stars. I had the seafood stew and sampled a few of the other offerings and they were all to die for. I honestly can't remember the last time that I had food this delicious. I love the keys ambiance and fantastic service. If you are in the area, you definitely want to dine here.

Definitely the best seafood meal I had in my 3 days touring the keys, had the almond crusted grouper. Excellent with the pineapple cranberry sauce that was incorporated into the sweet potatoes as well fully tying the dish together. Wholly recommend.

Great food! Great atmosphere. Interesting story behind the name. I had the grouper seafood platter with French fries it was delicious. The Key Lime Pie was wonderful too — and you have to try the magical brownie!! Servers were so friendly and nice. You need to go there!

One of the best meals I've had in Key West. Wonderful server with a awesome attitude. Atmosphere was very nice. Everything was cooked to perfection. I will definitely be back and recommend to others. It is a bit pricey but worth every dollar.

Free parking lot that’s east to find parking if you go in off hours. Walked in and it was a 15 minute wait for two for a table but were able to find two barstools at the bar. Service was efficient and food was great. They had a coconut curry lentil soup that was FANTASTIC. bread and butter was delicious as well. Husband loved his coconut shrimp. Very busy place, definitely hyped up but everything was good!

Appetizers had a great flavor. Dinner was delicious! Large portions and filling. Desserts were tasty and worth coming back for more. Server was awesome! Friendly staff and attentive. Atmosphere was great and could talk with our friends at the table. Shirts available to purchase as well. Will definitely come back next time we are in the area. Also if you have allergies they are great with accommodations.

Very nice restaurant on US1. Well greeted and seated. I had the grouper sandwich 🥪 and it was absolutely delicious. Tuna appetizer is good as well. Good lunch spot. Definitely recommend!

Delicious food, good service. We arrived right at 5pm and there was already a line. It was full when we left around 6pm. Definitely get there early.

Great stop on the way out to Key West. Smoked fish dip, conch chowder great. Grouper and yellow tail sandwiches were wonderful. Haley was our server and I'll give her a pass for being so kind....

Fastest service I experienced… we ordered and the food took less than 10 min to come out. Ordered: Scallops: divine taste… incredible fresh Mexican street corn dip: not much to expect, good Cranberry walnut salad: delectable Forgot to take pic of the Coconut shrimp platter but did not disappoint plus the fries were flavorful too. Almost forgot to add I had the spicy watermelon margarita which was stiff in my opinion Also tried the spicy peach martini (don’t remember the exact name) but if you like sweet drinks, this is the perfect one.

Amazing place for lunch. Great ambience and service. A must visit place. 5min to no wait time. Food worth every penny. Wheel chair accessable entrance. Easy access from US HWY 1. Clean rest rooms. Food: Coconut shrimp was heavenly. It had a crispy outside, the oil was just enough on the crispy batter, the shrimp inside was so soft and juicy. All this with the Manjo sauce was so delicious and it brought in the craving. One small thing - one of the shrimp was not deveined properly. I understand mistakes can happen. The fried fish on in the burgers were flaky and moist. Correctly cooked and batter had was just right. Burger buns were so soft. Burgers looked big, taking it in the mouth due to softness it compressed enough to take a bite. This redefined my sense of burgers. Loved it. For the people who love spicy, get the hot sauce on the side and sprinkle salt on the fish patty. Because both the fish and the batter is bland. Fish preparation of the day (Mahi), must try dish. The rice texture was great. Not chewy and not crunchy. Served with salad and a sweet sauce on the top. The veg panini was great as well. The best part is, quantity was enough to make you feel hungry at 6.30pm if you have lunch at 12.30pm. Presentation on the plate was appealing and appetizing. We did not try desserts, but looking at the description it was mouth watering. Hope that would be great too. Overall we had a best experience and I will return to this restaurant. 1dt time visited for the key west I recommend you to visit.

Great service! Great food! Really neat little place. We have been trying Key Lime Pie at each restaurant as a game in comparison. Sqaure Grouper is the best so far!! It is made in house, as areall of their desserts.

Came out of the craziness of Key West to enjoy a quiet dinner. This place fit the bill. Lots of good choices from steak to seafood. My dinner partners tried the Seafood Stew which was abundant and delicious filled with chunks of fish scallops and shrimp. And also their Grouper Sandwich. I chose the coconut shrimp platter which was also delicious with very large breaded shrimp which in most places is dry but this shrimp was still juicy on the inside while have a golden brown crust. Yummy!

We've been vacationing in the Keys for many years and somehow, this was the first time we ate at the Square Grouper. It was very good and we enjoyed everything we ordered! One of my son's and I both ordered the filet mignon with mashed potatoes and green beans. The steaks were delicious and cooked perfectly. My husband ordered a burger and said it was the best burger he ever had. My oldest son ordered a chicken and shrimp Thai rice bowl and he really liked it. My third son chose fried mozzarella for his dinner and said it was very good. We ordered the fried eggplant as an appetizer. I don't usually eat eggplant but it was delicious. We ordered some desserts to go which were also very good. The atmosphere is nice and comfortable and staff was friendly. It's a little pricier than most of the other nearby options but worth it. We will definitely return to the Square Grouper during future visits.

YOU SHOULD EAT HERE!! Doesn’t look like much from the outside, however what a great place to eat! Food was five stars! Seared ahi and coconut shrimp were amazing! Atmosphere was fantastic! Don’t change a thing guys!

We started out with the hurricane drink which was absolutely amazing “smooth” the key lime martini was good, for our appetizer the fish dip wasn’t chunky had the perfect smoke flavor, the buffalo shrimp is where the meal went down hill quick, the sauce was so over powering, we couldn’t finish them at all, the mahi seafood platter was good, just good, lots and lots of fries be prepared to pay almost 40 dollars for a plate of fries, nothing on the desert menu looked appealing. We ate here because all we heard was GO eat there! Not impressed! Not sure what all the rave is about. Just a local overpriced restaurant.

One of the best meals I have had anywhere, not just in Key West. The atmosphere is lovely. You are warmly greeted as you arrive by a gracious host. The tables are laid out perfectly for a pleasant dining experience. Or server was kind and patient as we had a difficult time with the menu. (only because here are so many distinct dishes offered) We had the Smoked Fish Dip. Which I could eat an entire portion in one sitting. The specials were our choice and wow! The temp, presentation, the personality, culinary technique to prepare and taste are MICHELIN worthy. You don't need to detour, just set your gps to this lovely restaurant right off A1A. This is our third time in two years and will be back again in 2024 for another couple visits. Square Grouper never disappoints. 10 Stars. Highly, highly recommended.
