Had high hopes for this place given reviews - but oh my goodness it was so bad! Food was tired, tasteless and awful. Place was filthy - from restrooms to the dirt “blankets” covering the fans. Metal tables need power washed. We tried the sampler. Don’t waste the money. The conch fritters was chewy as leather and mostly breading. The crab cakes had minimal crab and had been worked over so much they were like a hockey puck. The shrimp were ehhh - not much flavor. Fish fingers you could tell were frozen and not cooked long enough a they were like mush inside. The macaroni salad was homemade and by far the best thing on the platter. Our server was sweet and helpful - and left her a good tip. But ugh, won’t be back. Big waste of money. And the bugs everyone mentions being so close to the water is a true story, but not their fault. Decent view of waterway. Had a live band playing that day.

I stopped by here because traffic was awful on the way to Key west. The conch salad was delicious and flavorful. The spring rolls were good as well with the Thai chili seasoning. The service was superb. You have to watch out for the mosquitos because they are great in number being so close to the water; however the restaurant has lots of bug repellent. The restaurant was clean as well. I would stop by here again. They also have a live band.

Good place to stop for a drink and a snack on the way in or out of the keys. Unfortunately service has gone down hill. If you’re a local you’ll get service. If your not, be prepared for a wait. My drinks were empty multiple times. 2 appetizers took 30 minutes to come out of the kitchen. Thinking I’ll skip this spot for a while .

We stopped on our way to the airport, and were happy to see the tables by the water were open again. Service was great this time and we enjoyed our last few hours by the water before heading home. We ordered the spring rolls, crab cakes, and blackened mahi tacos. The food never disappoints. Funny story, we were discussing Joe, Love, and Candace and 2 of the servers said are you talking about YOU!! And we discussed season 2 and how it gets even crazier in season 3. Good times! I also bought an Alabama Jack's shirt to add to my collection.

They were open already when we got there. Completely outdoor but covered. Credit card machine was down. But that didn't stop us. Mike was behind the bar and super awesome. RN to people from everywhere. Easy conversation. Conch Fritters are the specialty. Bring your appetite cause they're huge and we didn't even order the plate. Got the conch fritters and crab cakes.... now if your use to chunky crab cakes Boston style these aren't up your alley. But food was good atmosphere was laid back dive bar island style.

Great stop for a casual meal on the water. The staff was super friendly and the food was great. The fried and coconut shrimp and the homemade sides were delicious. Recommended the macaroni salad and the mac & cheese. The smoked fish dip was also amazing.

Great, by the canal, dive bar vibe. Fun place. Overlooking the canal and mangroves. Food is average for the local bars in the area... nothing special with average pricing. Be aware that Jack's is situated just slightly inside a toll zone. Our SunPass got dinged for $10, just to drive in the 50 yards to the restaurant parking lot. Really fun party vibe if you are in a group.

LOVE stopping at Alabama Jack's every trip into the keys! I plan my drive so that we will pass it during its open hours. The Conch Fritters are amazing and love atmosphere and being on the water!

We had lunch with family. It’s an open air biker bar. Families were there eating too. They had live music playing that started at 2pm, not sure how long it lasted. Food was good. It’s on the water.

it truly hurts me to give them such a low review but the restaurant has gone down in quality considerably. The food quality has definitely suffered from years past. The staff and food are hit and miss. If you are going to be drinking perhaps the food would be more palatable.

Not worth it... been coming here for 15 years and it's worst than ever... unfortunately the tourist don't know any better. The food was poor quality tasted like mac Donald's fast food. Their conch fitters which is what their best known for was horrible, nothing but fried batter and couldn't even finish it. The fries were cooked with old oil and looked brown. The water tasted like sink water had to request bottle water. The limes were soo dry dust practically came out.The service was ok but larger groups had more priority and faster response. Completely disappointed of my LAST experience here. I had so many great memories here and recommended so many people here. It is such a shame thier quality went down the drain.

Came here on Labor Day and it was jam packed with people. Which was a good sign for our first time being here. We were seated in the back over the water. The service was quick and great! Drinks were strong and cold and you can’t beat the views. My daughter loved tossing bits of food to the fish in the water who were putting on quite the show for her. The prices are really great and food was on point. Definitely the perfect afternoon post fishing trip bite.

Very good food but its also very loud and service takes a while, and they are out of a lot of items on the menu. The food was good quality and looked visually appealing but was served in disposable containers with plastic silverware rather than actual dishes with metal silverware. I did however really enjoy the artwork throughout the place. There were a lot of stickers and license plates from different states which made it entertaining.

Always love this place! Classic dockside bar with a great atmosphere, live music, good service, and the best Conch Fritters in The Keys. Like seriously, these are not your pounded-flat, overly-fried fritters. It's hard to tell from this pic, but they hanger from a half inch to an inch thick. Tartar sauce and cocktail sauce are also great.

Heard nothing but great things about this little "Dive Bar", so decided to check it out. It is located on Card Sound Rd. (CR905), which is the alternative route to Rte1 to get to & from the Keys. Anyway, we got there Sun afternoon, the place was busy & band was rocking. We found 2 seats at the bar & Doug, the bartender, waited on us quickly. The food is cheap, plentiful & very good. Had some of the best Coconut shrimp I've had in all the Keys. For $16.50, you get 12 shrimp w/ 2 sides. We had the side salad & for an extra buck, we got onion rings, so $17.50 was the total... unbelievable! Great time, food & atmosphere. Definitely be back next year.

This is just a fun and relaxing place. The portion size was big. The only miss was the blackened fish. It was more salty than blackened. We arrived around 1 pm on a Sunday and had about a 15 minute wait. The staff was friendly and attentive. One review hanging on the wall that still resonates today is "Alabama Jack's serves perfectly prepared food in a funky setting far off the beaten path".

My girlfriend and I have been wanting to explore destinations in the Keys featured in the movie series "Bloodlines." She really enjoyed that series. In the first episode, a segment of the movie was filmed here. So we started our day here when they opened. I have closed many a bars, but have never opened one. We were the first ones to arrive and started our vacation with blood marries and conch fritters. OMG, do not miss out on ordering the fritters. They are not your normal dough balls. They are to die for, closest thing to crack.😆 If you are on your way to Key West, take a detour and enjoy this historical piece of the Florida Keys.

We went to Alabama Jacks at maybe an odd time for a place like this--2pm on Monday. I'm imagining this place really thrives when there's live music, noise, bikes out front, fried food and beer. But our experience was still really enjoyable. We got a platter for two with three sides. Everything was deep fried, which is what I was expecting. But here's the thing: everything was awesome. There were really good flavors in there, and my impression is that everything was made by them, not shipped in frozen, lol. Great-tasting food. Very generous portions. Our server was perfect, and bilingual! So my friend could communicate directly with her. We drove an our and a half just to go here. And we're really happy we did.

What an awesome stop for lunch after a long drive from key west back to Miami. Back road from A1A and off the beaten path. Classic road side bar and cafe in the mangroves. Don’t expect an exquisite dining experience. Expect a country band playing, classic southern Florida service and excellent food for the situation. Highly recommend if you are not in a hurry to from the keys. Or a very short drive from the mainland.

Super awesome laid back on the water fish restaurant. All the classics are here for southern seafood. Stop in and soak it all in! 6 stars!

Ordered conch chowder but the bartender misheard and gave me conch salad, a lot like ceviche, so my husband ate it. Was really disappointed, but, oh well..... Luckily he shared his blackened fish sandwich with me. The best thing on the menu was the potato salad!

Look, I don't like fritters of any kind. The conch fritters here are the best you will ever have. Don't go here and not get them. My girlfriend HATES seafood, can't even smell it without being grossed out and she said the conch fritter was good. Went on a Saturday around noon, took about 30min to get seated and an hour before we were eating.

Stopped by on our way back from the Keys. Interesting little spot. We ordered drinks, which came back pretty watered down. For dinner, we shared the small Seafood Sampler which included fried shrimp, steamed shrimp, fish fingers, conch fritters, 2 crab cakes and for our side we got sweet potato fries, beans and macaroni salad. Not bad. I'd say I liked the conch fritters the best.

We love going here. It's a great spot to stop on our way to and from our key west vacations. Never had a bad meal and the conch fritters are the best I've ever had!!! Service was a little slow but it appears to be because they were short staffed like everywhere else. Don't miss this place!

This is a popular place! It felt as if we were in the middle of no where and then boom! Here was our restaurant. Waterside attraction. Friendly, efficient staff. Food was good - coconut shrimp, fries, chicken nachos. The crab cake was just ok. I may be spoiled from living in Maryland for so long and find a few places that come as close to Maryland crab cakes. The chicken fingers were 4/10. It’s a great stop before you hit the keys and is definitely something different.

The food is fairly good American seafood fare, nothing fancy. What you're really coming here for is the seeing and ambiance. They have a live group playing country and bluegrass, and it's as close as I've ever been to Alabama (I imagine).

Great atmosphere. The burger and onion rings were delicious. It’s worth a stop. The downside is that while the staff are friendly, the service is incredibly slow and they’re understaffed for the number of customers they have

If you have the opportunity to visit this "old Florida" bar/restaurant, you won't be disappointed. It's alittle out of the way but well worth it. I always find the staff pleasant and welcoming. We've never been disappointed with our menu choices.. Which are delicious and well proportioned. Overall a great spot to relax with a cold beverage, a great crowd and a wonderful view!
