One of the easiest Trek with small jungle trails, mostly recommended to visit on weekdays but you visit on weekends as well. But on weekdays shops/food stalls remain closed 30-40 min jungle hike (easy level) will guide you to the Garbett Plateau from the main road of matheran hill. To reach here get 100₹ per person cab from Nerul station and while returning take their contact number for the return journey as well.

Garbett Plateau….as the name suggests it is plateau located near neral-matheran area. It’s really good trekk with amazing views😍😍😍 and beautiful surroundings…We went there via neral…from there it is few kilometres walking to reach the base and then the actual climbing starts🤩 You’ll get to see different scenery while walking 🏔🏞🏞 … we hired a local guide for proper directions….First you have to cross the damn if you’re going through neral…Visiting in rainy season suggested😍😍 and also it’ll will slippery while going up so wear a proper trekking shoes with good grip…also don’t wear light clothes…they will get dirty 🥶🥶🤪😓……..One more important thing that DON’T DO THIS TREKK IF YOU DON’T HAVE ANY PRIOR TREKKING EXPERIENCE….this is not beginners trekk…you’ll tired yourself a lot…or it will be heavier to your body….otherwise everything is goood…. Really a trekking experience 🧗🏻‍♂️🏔 with amazing views❤️❤️💚💚❤️❤️

Extremely picturesque location. The trek is a medium trek, which requires quite a bit of walking. The views along the way are brilliant. Start point of the trek is walkable from the bhivpuri railway station. The best way to experience this is to start at bhivpuri, reach the plateau, and end at matheran. You'll get Cabs from matheran to neral station, from where you can take a train back to Mumbai.

One of the best trek and the awesome view will be waiting once you reach at top. Last weekend we had camping and is one of the best experience we had. Trek is quite easy and took hardly 1 and half hour to reach at top. We ride our bike till base village The road conditions was so bad thats is was quite hectic and risky to go from bike over there. But the experience is worth visiting.

If you want to enjoy a sunrise and a night trek then this a must visit place. The trek is not hard but you will have to walk a lot. Also it is recommended to carry a tent as you will see a lot of point where you can setup a tent.

A good trek, but not for those who have never walked for longer than 30 minutes, because the last 1 hour is quite a steep uphill climb. Along the way there is a lake and some good waterfalls even if u don't want to climb all the way to the top. You can either return the same way or come down via Matheran, however the road there has completely been washed off by the heavy rains. You can get a local guide for Rs.1200/- or somewhere that amount at the main road. Since the pandemic its even more popular so go early else you may have a huge crowd that the trekking companies get on weekends. Avoid Sundays too busy.

The trek to Garbett Pleateu is easy during cool weather (during hot weather the trek gets challenging as there's no shade, it gets very tiring) and offers a stunning view of surrounding areas which include, Matheran range, Sondai Fort, Dhom Dam, Morbe dam. There few refreshment shops on the plateau for water and other refreshments. Trek for around 15-20minutes more and you'll reach Garbett point which is higher and offers a better but the same surrounding.

Lovely hike with amazing views. Totally loved the experience. An amazing trail with couple of steep patches in between. Visit during the monsoons. The experience is mind blowing. Simply superb. Loved it. Definitely worth a visit.

Highly recommend place in Matheran to visit if you're tired of crowds. This place has literally zero crowd and one of the best points in Matheran, but 45 min to 1 hour walk is there to reach here. Ask locals how to get here.

Garbett plateau is one of the best trekking places near Mumbai. You can do this trek in a day. Catch the first karjat train from cst and get down at bhivpuri road station. You can start trekking from the station itself It takes around 4-5hr to reach the top. There are two ways to return one from the same path as we ascend and another is from the matheran route. We chose matheran as we can It's just 1hr walk from top. From matheran share cabs available for neral stations. Catch the CSMT train and back to Mumbai.

Great night trek. Short and sweet. Worth the wait at the top for sunrise. There is a small village on the way at the base where you can get maggi and has toilets (for women especially). Definite must go

Good trek to enjoy the views and climb. We started the ascent from bhivpuri waterfall. The trek took us through villages and fields on the top of mountains with scenic views of dhom lake in between. There were some very narrow trails and steep climb at many places. It took us 4 hours to reach at the top as we took it easy. The plateau is of around 1 sq. km. area and you can easily camp there. As soon as we reached at the top we were greeted by fog followed by heavy rain. We were barely able to see the views. After having quick snacks we started the descent from different route that took us directly to Neral Matheran road through jungles of Matheran. This was very easy walk with very less slopes. We were able to hail taxi after 2 hours of walk and reached Neral station. Amazing experience.

A beautiful nearly flat grass covered land above 2000 ft with wonderful scenic beauty. But the treak is not easy. At some point the slope is nearly 50 degree. Small food stall are available at different altitudes.

Had an one day trip to Garbett Point. We started our Journey by getting off in Neral and taking a taxi to Matheran. After doing a little hike to reach Garbett Point, we continued to go to Garbett Plateau. While coming down we even got to play in a waterfall and visited Dhom lake, eventually reaching near Bhivpuri Road station and ending our hike.

The garbett plateau is good place to trek to the garbett point... If you just want to see the view then you should go ahead to garbett point and not through the plateau. The garbett point is a easier and direct route which will take you on top. This plateau way is more of a 1.30hrs hike to the point

Its an amazing hike to get to garbett plateau. You can start walking from bhivpuri station and go up and you can exit from matheran side. As the climbing down is steep. I would recommend exiting from matheran side specially in rainy season
