My worst experience in a lifetime. I booked it. I said when I arrived and when I got to the hotel I was locked up. I called several times and no one answered. A total mockery. Imagine arriving in the evening at a place with nothing close by with a small child and simply having the hotel closed .... it is unbelievable. I've never seen such a thing !!!

We had to find a hotel at the last minute, because our friend suddenly fell ill, and the whole party opted to leave our WACKEN Open Air campsite a day earlier... Our next stop was Kiel, but since it was the peak of Summer, so all hotels a little more conveniently located were booked out. We worked at it a bit and found this hotel, which is kind of "in the middle of nowhere", but we were just grateful to have a roof over our heads for the night. The receptionist (whom Husband reckon is Dutch) was a sweet young lady and very polite. Her kindness really helped eased our anxiety from the earlier part of the day (Thank you my dear). We found our room 114 to be very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast the following morning was also a good spread. This only thing Husband didn't like was the narrow underground parking, but otherwise, we had a very pleasant stay and I would put in a good word for this hotel. The only catch is you must have a car to access this place. Public transport is not an option.

The hotel was not what we expected. On the photos it looks like a decent hotel, but it looks old and badly maintained. First thing that we came across is that everything is in german, not really a big problem. But i think its kind of nice to have a translation or a receptionist that can speak a little bit of english. First thing we heard was that the restaurant was closed for diner. Breakfast on the other hand was open. The breakfast was not really good. The coffee and eggs were decent but the rest was mediocre. When we arrived we couldnt wait to get in the pool. The 'Wellness' area is in the basement and not well maintained. There are no changerooms and the pool was kind of green with a weird smell to it. The room was not clean. There was a herd of sheep under the bed and behind the couch. There is no coffee in the room. Some of the furniture was really old. I think this hotel could be way nicer if it was maintained in a better way. I will think twice before booking a room at Tulip Inn next time.

Very disappointing, very tired, in need of a complete refurbishment. No sense of pride from the staff for the hotel. It seems the minimum is done to keep it ticking over. The breakfast, the pool and the location are the better assets of this hotel. From the heavily stained curtains to staff smoking den at the entrance of the hotel, I leave it to you to make your choice

In the run-up to our stay i would like to mention Ms Mueller, who has been most helpful and friendly to arrange all the details... thank you and we are looking forward to our stay...

Excellent, considering the price we've paid. Big and comfortable rooms. Our suite also had a very nice private sauna. The pool underground was nicely warm. Friendly personal. Good breakfast. We recommend.

the room was disgusting, stains on the carpet. spider web along the entire inner ceiling of the room. The positive, you could check in late. and it was nice staff.

Great hotel, quiet, remote but not far from Kiel. The pool was fun and the kids had a great time. It's getting old but that has it's own charm (and lower price).

The room, especially the bathroom, could use a little more cleaning, the hut tub and the toilet were visibly not cleaned after the last visitors. Except that, our stay was ok considering the price we paid.

The rooms were really dirty. Stains everywhere, even in the bed on the quilts and what looked to be a skidmark on one of the chairs. The bathroom was a nightmare and the whole room could use a good clean. It doesn't matter if it's outdated or not, the least you can expect from staying in a hotel is that it's clean.
