Great buffet but service is really bad.

Been going there for their buffer lunch for years. It's more on the expensive side for a lunch buffet. With the presence of multiple 3+ star hotels in Kigali, their price seems high for what is on offer. The service is really good and the food is tasty. The dishes are always kept refilled. The only issue is they need to renovate the place, especially during day time the bad state if the false roofing is visible. Also their outside sitting area has been under renovation for a long time and now it feels a bit awkward that it's not finished for this long. If they could do basic renovation this will be a gem giving old Kigali vibes.

Rundown place. Waiters look surprised when you present yourself. Renovation seems to be happening but no workers. Took 5 minutes to find the drink menu when I chose the expresso martini the waiter said he doesn't know how to make it Better to sell this unprofitable business for the land which is in a prime location...

Fantastic local food buffet-style!

Excellent Service ( they were attentive & offered to assist with taking photos of me, almost like they read my tourist mind) , Great food & drink, Quiet Space, Plenty of art around the compound. The style is rich and rustic but I think a renovation would add more value.

I have known this restaurant a while before and always admired their service, but today on the 29july2022 I was shocked and surprised in a bad way and surely before recommanding anyone to consider Chez Robert, I will prepare him/her for changes. It is no longer Chez Robert of 3years back.

Nice Restaurant with local food but service is not that good

We stopped here for lunch after visiting the Rwandan Genocide Museum. They have a buffet style lunch with very good vegetarian food plus beef, pork, and fish. We were happy to find that they also have Coke Zero, which has been hard to find during our trip.

Nice place to go when you need to eat à la rwandaise. The restaurant has delicious food prepared as buffet with many choices.

For the price, the service and good was excellent. Under $10 USD gets you a buffet with a bunch of local traditional foods, like cassava lead puree which was interesting and somewhat good even contrary to expectations. Not sure why it's called Chez Robert... Makes it sound like a French restaurant which I'm pretty sure it is not. Staff paid very close attention, and every time I got up for another serving, they picked up plates and replaced the cutlery. Great value for money.
