I've had the pleasure of staying there several times over the decades. The staff are always lovely, the rooms are very comfortable, though warm. Lovely bar food. I have to say though. Lads, the poached eggs. I had them last year when I stayed and the overall taste was of vinegar. I thought they may have improved this year but they were worse. There was so much vinegar it was completely inedible. My friend sitting opposite me could actually smell it. You don't need vinegar making poached eggs. Fresh eggs do the trick. Straining the eggs does too. If you MUST use vinegar, the tip is a tablespoon per litre max, and don't use malt vinegar. Vinegar should never be part of the taste profile of Eggs Hollandaise. Just call me Karen 🙂

Great hotel. Main elevators were not operating due to a part. The hotel allowed the service elevator to be used which was a big help. Food is amazing. The lamb chops were one of the best I have ever had. Tender, lots of flavor and paired with mashed potatoes. The Poets Corner offers Pub food and has trad sessions. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return.

Beautiful place. Very clean. No air conditioning in our room. Not handicap friendly, limited number of accessable rooms. Had to use service elevator and climb up and down stairs to get to room. Main Elevator out of service the 2 days we were there. Nice friendly pub. First class breakfast.

We stay here last week on holiday for a wonderful three nights!!!! The location of the hotel is perfect to explore the sights and shops in Ennis---and is great to use as a base to see the Cliffs of Mohr, Doolin and to the south--Limerick and Bunratty. The rooms were very very nice---and the service was fantastic!! One of the highlights was our dining experienca at the hotel...The The Town Hall Restaurant was better than Fantastic---the food was delicious and the service was professional and very SPECIAL ( please pass on our SINCERE thanks to both Natalia--she was TERRIFIC --- and also to Grace who was very accommadating). ALL AROUND-----A real 5 star experience!!!

Ennis is quite a big town with classy boutiques and music pubs. Old Ground is a gorgeous hotel with great food and lovely staff. I had a look through the check in books from 1953! Beautiful old building with boutique style decor.

Very friendly, lovely food. Will recommend and be making a return visit. The central location is perfect and of all the lovely staff I have to pick out Paulina in the Town Hall bistro. She is a real gem and a great advertisement for the hotel.

We spent a week in Ennis earlier this month and stayed at the Old Ground. Its location is perfect in town centre. Walkable distance from most attractions, including a lovely beauty salon just cross the road (Beautique). The service is professional and friendly, at the reception and in the restaurant/bar. The poet's corner is great to relax after an excursion, to meet friend or to enjoy quality time with family. The food is good and good value. My partner forgot a hanger with a jacket. We called the hotel reception, they took our details and a few days later, the jacket was home. The address tags on the packaging had been typed on a computer in big letters, telling a lot about their attention to detail. The rooms are nice, very clean however, in our room the bathroom just had a big bathtub with a shower inside (working perfectly). We didn't mind but someone with limited mobility could find it hard to access the shower. We were in the 229, room on O'Connell street. The night is calm but in the morning on week days a council cleaning car is beeping shortly after 8. Last but not least, the staff includes a lovely cat very friendly with guests. Enjoy!

We had a wonderful stay at the Old Ground Hotel in Ennis. Staff were very welcoming and helpful and the rooms were clean and well-appointed. The lobby and restaurants were buzzing with activity all evening adding to the cozy atmosphere of the hotel. The hotel is in a great location with great shopping, pubs and restaurants within walking distance. We really enjoyed our stay.

Wonderful stay in the Old Ground for a family get together at the weekend. Such a warm welcoming Hotel, it has many memories over the years for our family. It has the very best location … right in the centre of Ennis so really handy for exploring the town or shopping nearby. We love the extremely cosy seating areas and the residents lounge with its squashy comfy sofas and fires always lighting . Staff so friendly and helpful. Rooms very spacious and elegantly decorated with a fabulously comfy bed . Town Hall restaurant was excellent as usual. Delicious food with a very varied menu. Natalia was wonderfully attentive and patient with our large family group so a huge thank you to her. We loved our stay.
