I scheduled a follow up virtual appointment a month out with Dr. Abbasi only for the doctor to arrive 10 minutes late and inform me that they did not in fact have my lab results despite me having given them my specialist's contact information weeks in advance. The entire purpose of the appointment was to discuss these results. No apology for wasting a patient's time, just "you need to reschedule." Alas we rescheduled for a week out only for the doctor to arrive late again (only 5 minutes this time yay!) and give me results that could have been delivered via phone. I was left with the very strong impression that this office has no respect for their patients' time and absolutely zero bedside manner in addition to awful communication. I would give 0 stars if I could.

I read a lot of bad reviews about them especially at Yelp and after being there once, I totally agree with the other reviewers about their bad service. Don’t waste your time and money here. I had a visit to their clinic once. Their system is very old which is unbelievable. I had to call them many times to get an update on my results

Check Yelp review first. I thought about given up on my fertility treatment because of this place. I hate that I wasted so much time to do an egg extraction and storage for reciprocal IVF. I suggest soon as you see the red flags, take it as a sign. It has been a nightmare since I started with them. Always an issue with the appointments, walk-ins for blooddraw/labs, receptionists, and billing. I found myself crying or distraught after encounters with them. I call them on multiple occasions but rarely get someone to pick up the phone from the appt line. I would have to ask for an operator and cross my fingers. For me, They caused more trouble than they actually helped. And all you will get is a bunch of "I'm sorry's" They always have an excuse for why they mess up so much and none of it ever helped my situation One time, I found myself waiting in the seating area for over an hour to get a blooddraw. No one ever came to get me nor did I get any updates until I finally went to Althea and asked to be checked out. The most recent issue is when they changed me to an earlier appointment from Sept 11th to the 7th. I was in good spirits thinking my luck had changed, until I received a call today to say it was a technical error and the date is double booked. Not only could I not get the 7th but I lost the appointment for the 11th. And Dr. Sacks will not be available for awhile. I cried for a bit and now I am searching for a clinic who cares about the patient.

My OBGYN of 9 years at this location retired. As requested by them I make a new appointment with another doctor. When I arrive there, they tell me the other doctor also left the group and they left a voice message. Clearly a lie as I don’t have voice message set up, nor do I have any missed calls. Then they proceed to tell me to find a new Dr. / facility. I’m beyond upset.

Admin staff and nurses are terrible. My wife and I spent hours and hours over the course of our treatments either waiting for our appointments (30+ min late every single time) or calling them repeatedly to get them to do the things they said they would do (e.g. call in prescriptions to our pharmacy.) Staff repeatedly were not in during their office hours and their off hours answering service was completely useless. The problem is, Shady Grove is just as bad or worse. Frankly I don't know how people with full time jobs are supposed to undergo fertility treatment. These services are so hopelessly inefficient despite costing $20k+. Fertility treatment should be so commonplace at this point that these services run as efficiently as Lasik providers, but for some reason they don't.

I had such a bitter experience here. The doctor who was the reason for my using this practice unfortunately retired and I got assigned another and that’s when the nightmare began. Every interaction with them was terrible - missed dates, delayed prescriptions and shipments, forgetting to inform me of what to do during my egg retrieval cycle, no empathy, waiting an hour+ at a time to be seen, being forgotten in an examination room one time and left on the table until I eventually walked into the hallway to see if anyone was around, very unpleasant nurses at the reception, no one answering calls, doctor not being willing to even discuss results or take the time to explain what is going on in your body. On top of everything, they billed me incorrectly for fees that my insurance had already covered, and 4 months on I don’t have a refund. The worst part is when the doctor asked me if I would ‘go off the deep end’ if I paused on my antidepressants. This was so far below the standard of care, the whole experience was appalling. I would never recommend and I hope I can transfer my eggs to another provider who cares about their patients.

If I could give them one star I would. First Victoria over charged me $1000 without my authorization after I authorize her to charge $550 for my remaining balance. Apparently she’s not good at math. Then front desk staffs are rude and stupid. They shouldn’t be working there. Lastly, my IVF treatment request was approved by my insurance but I was not notified that and was keep doing IUI to waste my time and money. When I called my insurance about new treatment record I learned about my approved IVF treatment and it was already expired. I’m very disappointed as I was really expecting to have a baby sooner.

All the negative reviews are accurate. I feel like I wasted so much time and money at this place with no results. They would often bill incorrectly asking me to pay for what my insurance clearly covered. They were never clear on instructions for different stages of the fertility treatments. No matter how many failed trials, I never felt like the doctor cared to find out why. It just felt like a factory and you were just another money making machine for them. I drove an hour to this place over 20 times! It's just so frustrating, I wished my body worked the way it is supposed to so I never had to deal with these people. I wish I could get all the time and money I spent back. Another year later and still no baby. Save yourself the stress and don't come here!

Coming to this office has been a horrible experience for me. When coming to a specialty office, or any office I expect high quality patient care. That simply does not exist here. Multiple times I have had to walk to the practice because no one answered or returned my phone calls. The admin team is not welcoming at all. They don't even acknowledge you when you enter the office. Management is by far the worst. I've overheard people on the other end of the phone saying things such as "that girl don't listen". The office manager even intentionally hung up on me over a billing disagreement. I've addressed my issues with the doctors at this practice and there was never any resolution. Insurance and billing was a major hassle. Multiple times I had to provide details about my insurance and follow up on my claims. I would not recommend anyone to the practice because I didn't not feel like I was valued and honestly, they do not show any sence of care here. The only positive experience I had was with with Brandy, who assisted me with a procedure. This was the first time I noticed someone who smiled in this office. She was very caring and I truly appreciated working with her even though it was only one procedure. The lady who draws blood was also pleasant as well. She is very polite and you can see she loves what she does. Overall, it was a nightmare being a patient at this practice. It is conveniently located near my job which is why I chose to come here. I am now seeking treatment somewhere else.

Dr. Rifka is very nice and knowledgeable. The staff at Columbia Fertility Center are extremely lazy, careless, and really hate working with patients there. I do not recommend this place to anyone seeking treatment. Find a better place to go.

I was skeptical a bit coming here due to the last Fertility Dr. I had. When I came I felt welcomed and tooken care of. Dr. Sacks explained EVERYTHING! He is very passionate, caring, and I see he roots for his patents. I want to thank him for being so punctual and precise in what needs to be done.

I highly recommend this practice and Dr. Sacks! I immediately felt welcomed and comfortable sharing reasons for my visit. He answered all my questions with patience and understanding and I left feeling confident in the treatment plan he set forth for me. I am so grateful I was referred here!

It was my husband and I first visit with Dr. Sacks and we felt so comfortable. He was very knowledgeable, patient and thorough. He provided us with very detailed options to help us make decisions on best next steps. We appreciated him very much.

Very friendly, very professional. I came to this group looking for assistance and advice for egg freezing. I did not feel as though they were pushing me to freeze my eggs so they could make money. Instead, they laid out the options for me, gave me information on my latest AMH readings and suggested further testing to help me make my decisions. Would recommend. I have been working with Dr. Preston Sacks, who is a lovely individual.

I had wasted several thousand dollars with this place before I decided to switch providers. Everyone from the reception to the doctor acts like they’d rather be doing something else. My appointments never began on time and they never answered the phone when I called for test results. It was a hassle to even get my medical records sent to my new doctor.

They charged $4,000 just for the thawing of our one frozen embryo. Avoid here. One of Dr. Sack's nurses, Iman, was communicatvie and empathetic. But the other nurse of his was awful and dismissive when we had a question. The office staff treats you badly as others described.

I wish I could give a big fat ZERO to CFA. I came in as a surrogate for transfer, had to travel from out of state and was appalled at how bad both the nurses/doctor's bedside manners were for such a delicate situation. My Intended Parents were not allowed to go with me, my husband wasn't allowed in with me, I couldn't bring a phone to document anything for them, and they gave attitude when I asked questions since this was my first time doing IVF. After transfer and confirmation of pregnancy, I had to follow up multiple times to get answers regarding acceptable cold/allergy medicine, fertility medicine adjustments, and we spent 3 MONTHS trying to get my medical records transferred to my OB's office. Each time we were told they were sent over and I'd be following up after my next appt when I was told my OB didn't have them yet. What a nightmare, STAY AWAY.
