The people are great, the check in and wait are horrible. I tried to check in in online several times but the system stinks and does not save incremental edits. Then when I got to the office, I had to fill in the manual forms anyway. Although I had an appointment, I had to wait in the same queue as the walk-ins. After two hours, I FINALLY got to see a technician and a PA. Both were professional, skilled, kind and efficient. Got done what I needed. That part was more than satisfactory. Maybe the wait is due to the fact that this is a fairly small operation and is one of the few but I'd definitely try another urgent care if possible.

I came in for an appointment for my finger. I haven’t been able to move for three months. Upon arriving I had a scheduled appointment and wasn’t even seen for another 2 and half hours. When I was finally able to see a doctor he didn’t even ask my pain levels, he just touched the finger and said it was probably jammed despite the fact that I few joints in my finger were none responsive. Then when I got my x-ray done he came back and said it was just probably jammed despite the fact that I haven’t been able to move it for about three months. My finger was barely assessed and I was sent off. His instructions for me was to just let it heal on its own and it should be good for 4-5months. The instructions didn’t even include the RICE or PRICE method. The wait wasn’t even an issue for me until I realized how little medical attention I was getting. If I knew it was going to be that poor I could’ve spent my time at a different facility that actually treated patients. And if there was nothing that they could do they should’ve just said that instead of wasting my time. Because I’m pretty sure I have ruptured tendon in my finger. I arrived at the office with an appointment at 2:45 and left 5:41 just for them to tell me that. If I were you, I’d go somewhere else.

Staff is awesome but the wait time can be a little long. I had to pay for 3 hours of parking with an appointment. Normally, I’m out of there within an hour. It was packed that day and there was only one provider, so I didn’t complain. I just waited patiently. When I scheduled the appointment, the fine print did warn you to be prepared to be there for longer than expected due to certain circumstances. Overall, I’m pleased and will chose this urgent care over any other urgent care in the SE area.

Upon arriving to my appointment this morning, I was warmly greeted by the front desk staff member, very impressive. Starting your day off with kindness makes a good day. Everyone from the medical staff was very kind and caring from the person who took my vitals, the PA, and X-rays staff. The PA listened and understood my medical concerns. It was greatly appreciated. Thanks. Surprisingly, the wait time was not that long. Overall, the front desk customer service was great. The medical staff was very kind and knowledgeable and seemed concerned about resolving my health issues. I was pleased with the visit and will definitely recommend others.

Thank you! sweet ladies at the front desk for all your smiles and help. It was a long wait but it was worth it thank you so much. The doctor and the lady who took my blood pressure was very nice as well. This is a great place to visit when you’re not feeling well they will take good care of you. 💕

This was my first experience with this facility and staff and I was very impressed. The staff was respectful and pleasant. The staff that I did not engage with, you can tell by their energy and vibe they were the same way. They took such great care of my child and was respectable of our time. I told the PA that if I could clone him and put a thousand of him in Children's Hospital, I would. I meant it. I would clone their staff and put them in a lot of places across the District. Thank you for excellent care and service. It was truly appreciated and needed after waiting 10 hours at Children's Hospital and receiving no care or service. You are a blessing to the community. Thank you

By far the nastiest, most inefficient staff known to any human being. Once “signed in and with an appointment” you must THEN (although completed online and seated in waiting area) return to the desk and confirm that you have not left and are in fact, still ill or in need of medical care. Then, your appointment is confirmed. The cold waiting room is not nearly as warm as that of the staff’s behind the glass. A grueling process in the midst of medical challenge. Please select a more professionally prepared site. I left and went to another facility. Too painful to remain. By the way, staff DOES NOT sanitize waiting are, I sat nearly 72 minutes. Never sanitized not offered sanitizer.

The front desk staff that helped me upon entry was super welcoming. The physician and nurses were very attentive and caring which was a huge breath of fresh air. I felt like everyone really worked together as a team to care for you. Thank you!

Despite the longer than normal wait time, every single staff member handled the spike in appointments and walk ins with grace. They were thorough in letting each person know of the wait time so that we could determine if the time would work with our schedules. I appreciate the attention to care received throughout the visit.

The waiting area was over capacity. Masking guidance not enforced. Appointment made but STILL had to wait over an hour between waiting room and wait some more in the back. Service is good. All staff professional and courteous. I would recommend siting the wait room and wait time. Bring a lawn chair and wait outside.

This urgent care is next to me and my go to location when I am sick or need any test reports etc. The doctors and nurses were extremely nice and knowledgeable. They treat patients with good care. Only thing is , make sure that you take some time in hand before going there because the wait time before seeing the doctor or nurse can be long. Overall, Highly recommended.

I had to go in on the 1st of July after a sports accident right before they closed. The staff were so kind and empathetic to the injuries sustained. They still brought me in for treatment, even though they were scheduled to close in 10 minutes, and to give me a preliminary diagnosis. The nurse practitioner was very thorough with her examination and had great post-recovery recommendations. Moreover, I was also given the medicine needed to alleviate the pain I sustained from the injuries. I would highly recommend it!

I was able to easily book a same day appointment (online via my phone) for 11:40am, but while I was there many walk-ins also came in and they were all seen as well. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient in dealing with a pretty big group of patients. I received excellent care, and I’m happy to have found them today.

All of the staff was so friendly and kind. When I got into the exam room, they resolved my issue quickly. Unfortunately, it was still an hour and a half wait to be seen even with an appointment, but I know that is out of anyone’s control. The waiting room was completely full. Thankfully, after they took my vitals, they allowed me to leave and receive a text when my room was ready. I will definitely return if needed.

I was pleased to be able to get in the same day I called within an hour of my apt time. The location available in the neighborhood I’m temporarily staying in was a real benefit. Front desk staff were courteous to everyone, facility clean, water provided, masks/ sanitizer/ clean bathroom. TV and affordable snacks in the waiting room. Health care providers were efficient, polite, listened to my concerns and provided both verbal and written information about my complaint and noted two things to follow up with my primary physician. A really positive and unexpected service was the ease of paperwork into their system, insurance cards and even the written paperwork was minimal compared to what I’ve had to deal with for new providers where I live.

The PA was great and answered every question with patience. My issue is the reservation system. I made a "reservation" for 2:10 and wasn't seen until 3:30. I asked the front desk about the appointment made and was told they only do reservations. What is the point? 2 people walked in after me and were seen before me. And then I was told that it was still going to take a while. I don't see myself going back to this location or using the "reservation" system. Since it doesn't make a difference what's the point.

Both the nurse assistant and doctor were great. Compassionate, caring and definitely concerned of what was happening to me. The doctor made an excellent call in sending me to the ER. Huge improvement since last time I was there. Honestly I came only because it was the only place with an appointment but was pleasantly surprised.

Great staff. Long wait times, even with an appointment. Mine was at 5:20 and I was brought in around 7pm. I recommend going during the day and definitely making an appointment because walkins waited 2 hours longer. The ladies at the front, the nurses and the doctor were all fantastic! They were attentive, funny, caring and helpful. I would return again for urgent medical needs just because of the staff here.

I had an accident at urgent care that I was not happy about it. I had to be send to an hospital to get better treatment. I do appreciated the follow up call and the carrying that I received from the nursing. I heard to door had an issue prior to my accident. I do believe that it should have been fixed prior to my accident. This is negligence.

I went in for a Covid test and the staff and medical personnel was very professional and pleasant, the facility was clean and appealing. upon my departure I had my prescription sent to my pharmacy and was very relieved about my situation. Thank you very much for the caring and support.

The nurse practitioner that I saw was phenomenal. I can’t remember her name. She’s definitely a keeper. She empathetically listened to my explanation of my gout pain and what may have triggered it (e.g., my diet over the holidays was too rich). She then explained gout to me and prescribed medication she said would clear it in about 5 days. I am in my second day today and I feel no pain in my big toe. She is the best medical professional I’ve ever known. I wished I could make her my personal nurse practitioner. I thank her from the bottom of my heart.

I was treated pretty promptly despite a crowded waiting room, had attentive personnel in all phases, and now have information about my vital signs. However, in recommending that i go to a hospital for further testing, i was disappointed that i was not allowed to see my EKG results nor have them explained so that i could make an intelligent decision about going to the hospital. The person who did the testing showed them to the doctor but not to me. The doctor was vague about what they showed.

I had an awful experience. Despite selecting an open time for my appointment, I ended up waiting for 2 and a half hours to see the doctor. Frustrated after 2 hours, I approached the front desk, and the staff explained that other patients had more urgent needs. It was only after this conversation that I was called in, but then the doctor informed me that the x-ray tech had left for the day. If I still wasn't feeling better, I would need to return for an x-ray. On my way out, I asked one of the staff members for her name to file a complaint, but she refused, claiming she didn't have to provide that information. I contacted patient advocacy, who informed me that staff should provide their names and wear their badges. I am currently awaiting a call back from MedStar to file a formal complaint. Despite my primary doctor's suggestion to return to the urgent care, I declined and sought care at Comprehensive Primary Care on U Street, where they promptly scheduled me for the next day and were much more efficient in their processes. I highly recommend Comprehensive Primary Care on U Street if you don't want to deal with this Urgent Care that tries to act like de facto Emergency Room. UPDATE 1/25/24: I received a prompt call from a supervisor at Capital Hill Urgent Care, and I must say she was exceptionally kind, attentive, and apologetic. I value her quick follow-up and how effectively she addressed the situation. As a result, I've decided to raise my rating from 1 to 3 stars, and I'm inclined to consider returning if the need arises, primarily due to her proactive response. Thank you!

This was my first time going to MedStar Urgent care (Normally just go to the ER). But I follow my primary instructions. I must say the staff was professional and friendly. Even when one patient didn’t have the patience and insisted that the staff member had and additutde. I can say with sound reasoning she did not. I googled this location and I’m glad I canceled my appointment with the other locations to use the Capital Hill. It was a good experience and I felt welcome not a burden.

I will be honest, I went in here crying like a baby from how much pain I was in and the injury I had. The staff here was so accommodating and helpful. They addressed every single concern I had. The care I received was so incredibly thorough and it seemed as though everyone there was looking out for my best interests. Coming into medical environments like this seems rare. This location has such an amazing group of people that truly took outstanding care of me in a moment where I truly needed it. I went in with a million questions and concerns and came out with a plethora of information and treatment needed to help me get better. If I ever need to go to an urgent care again I will surely come here. Even when waiting in the lobby, seeing how kind the front desk staff was really made this a great environment even with the bad circumstances I was visiting under. Thank you all so much.

My wait was reasonable with a scheduled appointment. All staff that I encountered were friendly and listened with an open ear. The nurse practitioner was very thorough and had valid concerns. Turns out, what she expected was real! I just wish they were able to complete my care at this location. I had to visit the ER to complete my treatment.

It was a very rewarding experience especially since I didn't have an appointment. The facility was very clean and adamant about enforcing all safety protocols. Administrative staff was professional and courteous. The medical staff was truly 5-stars. Thanks!

I am so grateful that I came across this urgent care. It was a two hour wait however the night before I went to UMC and it was a 4 hour wait and still didn't get seen. Despite the wait everything was good the staff was amazing. Dr. James was the doctor who seen me and it was great. He knew actually what he was doing and he made sure that I was very comfortable. He talked with me as he helping me. They are amazing! We need more like them

    1. The front desk was welcoming and courteous 2. The medical assistant was professional and seemingly competent 3. I didn’t even mind the wait/waiting area. I actually expected to wait longer than I did. 4. The most disappointing and disturbing aspect of my visit was with Alisha Powell, PA. I came in with a severely swollen and inflamed finger, which I am concerned about. Alisha palpated my finger for a total of maybe 5 seconds and deduced that it was either rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis. There are so many reasons why these two diagnoses are so far off the mark, namely you need both bloodwork and/or diagnostic imaging to confirm these. After I told her that neither of those diagnoses were remotely accurate, she dismissed a diagnosis of an infection because “it wasn’t that warm.” I honestly do not know what’s wrong with my finger and I am concerned. I was hoping coming here would at least point me in the right direction for proper care. Instead, I was met with a thoughtless and lackadaisical exam with no more information than what I came in with. I was completely and thoroughly disappointed. I will also reach out to upper management. The medical service was completely unacceptable.

Horrible service from the time I was brought back to the time I left the clinic. Waited almost two hours just for my appointment to be less than 20 minutes. It felt very rushed and all of my concerns were not addressed to this day as I am typing this review. Your better off walking into the clinic than trying to be an adult and schedule and appointment. It is just horrible. The only positive interaction was from the people at the front. I will not return to this location anytime soon

Everyone was friendly and responsive, from the front desk to the NP and more. When my prescription seemed to not have gone through, they were very helpful with ensuring it made it to the pharmacy. Only docking a star because even though I had an appointment, I still sat in the waiting room for 90 minutes.

  • 5/5 Spring R. 6 months ago on Google
The check in process is very unorganized and segmented here HOWEVER the doctor did an excellent job of getting a tiny shards of glass out of the heel of my foot. And the x-ray tech tech was very courteous as well. The front desk staff was very courteous as well even though people were complaining about the wait times.

  • 5/5 Margie T. 6 months ago on Google
I signed online for an appointment today at MedStar. I understand that they have a lot of walk ins which delay them being able to see those with appointments in a timely manner. However that is ok, MedStar Urgent Care is a much better alternative than being in an ER waiting for eight or more hours! The staff is professional, cordial and apologized for the delay. Personally they had a standing room only lobby today, so I’m happy that it only took about 2 1/2 hours to see me from beginning to end.

Soon as I came in one young lady was extremely nice and greeted me with a smile. They also assisted me with the registration process it was kinda a headache when ur not feeling well. The doctor and nurses in the back were friendly and professional and treated me like I was a priority. Most important thing they LISTEN!!

The location is convenient via bus, train, or car. It can be pretty busy in here so the wait time is longer than expected. But, the doctors and nurses here are very helpful and to limit paperwork, everything can be done on your phone. I recommend this urgent care before traveling all the way to the emergency room. I’ve visited this care facility numerous of times and this is my go to urgent care when my regular doctor’s office isn’t accepting walk ins.

People in this clinic are very nice and friendly. It is very busy clinic so I waited long since I was a walk in. Although once I was called to get into the examination room, assistants and a provider effectively took care of me so the whole service was taken within 1 hour. When I was about to leave the clinic, a person at the front desk kindly let me know that my driver has moved his car. They provide above and beyond of excellent service here, thank you!!

I made an appointment and I was seen in a timely manner. The receptionist staff were very professional and pleasant. The intake Nurse was wonderful. She was very kind and professional. The doctor was great. She has a calmming demeanor. Very patient. She answered my questions and I felt like she cared. If I have to go to urgent care again, I will go there. Thank You

They're as urgent as they can be. It's in a busy part of town (nice marketplace was happening when i was there, surrounding accommodations and houses, neighborhoods, etc) so it's not a surprise it's a long wait. As a walk-in I was there for 2 hours (as a walk-in). But once I got in the care was really great. Angel took my vitals and was the sweetest woman ever. Christina was my doctor and was attentive and immediately called for a prescription and confirmed it with the pharmacy while I was there. She also gave me some "aisle" suggestions. Bring a book and CHARGE YOUR PHONE bc they send you a text to fill out online forms AND it allows you to leave and get a text when it's almost your turn. If your phone dies you'll use paper and you'll sit around. I sat around though cause i brought entertainment. All-in-all: Really great treatment, long wait time. DO NOT GO HERE if you're currently in a lot of pain or are bleeding profusely. This is a place for smaller things like allergic reactions, headaches, bearable injuries, etc. Thank you!

  • 4/5 Lisa S. 8 months ago on Google
The staff were really wonderful - very helpful and kind and I received good treatment. However, being a busy Saturday, the lobby was full and the wait was long. In total, I waited 4 hours before I was seen by the medical team and was there for 5 hours. I brought a book with me, so recommend to go prepared to wait!

  • 5/5 AllAboutKi 1 year ago on Google
This was my first time visiting and I must say that the waiting area was nice and clean, the staff greeted me as soon as I walked in and prompted me to start my walk in information on the iPad. The wait was about a hour didn’t seem like it though, the time actually flew by pretty fast. I got my vitals taken and then to the treatment room, the doctor was nice as so was everyone in the office, got seen and treated pretty swiftly. I definitely recommend this business.

Once I got in the talk with the nurse practitioner. Things were great. She was pleasant. She attend it to me fast I was out of there in 15 minutes. . Problem occurs with the weight of four hours after confirming an appointment. That was the hardest wait. Having more practitioners available would be great.

  • 2/5 Dollface 7 months ago on Google
I made an appointment, filled out my info online and it was still a massive amount of people before me. The lobby is quite small so there was no seating. This should actually be a walk in clinic, so you won’t expect too much. But, besides all of that the staff was very nice. I canceled my appointment, and will not return to this location again.

  • 5/5 Alyce Coleman H. 1 year ago on Google
First I would like to say thank you. The staff was wonderful, very nice and knowledgeable. I felt safe in the waiting room. We were sitting a safe distance apart and you had to have a face mask on and over your nose. It didn’t take long to be seen. I was in and out in no time. Thank you MedStar for the caring staff!!!😃

This was my first visit to this clinic, and I am very appreciative for the kind and attentive care. The front desk staff was welcoming and helpful, and the PA who treated me was also kind, informative, and careful. He explained things clearly and patiently, and was prompt and careful in treating me. The clinic must see all kinds of issues and new patients every day, and I give the staff a lot of credit for treating me and the others also in the waiting room with care and professionalism.

  • 5/5 Nicole D. 2 years ago on Google
Had a great experience, from the courteous greeting and help I got as I walked in, the professional treatment as my vitals were taken, the kindness by the nurse assigned to me, and the care to make sure I understood everything I needed to know before I left. Yes, you will be there for a couple hours from walking in to walking out, but it’s an urgent care clinic during a pandemic, I honestly expected it to take a lot longer. It’s very clean, well organized, and spacious. While I hope to not have many urgent care needs in the future, I’m happy to know this clinic will be there.

I arrived rather late for treatment for asthma, having having left a local emergency room that was excessively crowded, even triage had a long wait list line. Your staff from start to finish though very crowded also, indicated there was a very long wait period, were very kind, compassionate exhibiting great 👍 customer care, especially the NP who administered my care, she was par excellent, although the hour was late. This kind of care helped my healing process. I rate my visit 5/5. Thank you!!

The atmosphere was professional with a twist of empathy and compassion for my physical problem. The wait wasn’t too long and the NP explained my diagnosis and course of treatment in terms I could easily understand. I had a great experience at this facility and would recommend it to anyone who wants fast, professional care without the hassle of an ER. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GUYS!!

I was soooo AMAZED at the level of customer service skills that the front desk staff had. They greeted everyone with a very warm greeting. My office visit was about two hours total. I was in the back with the doctor's for about 30 minutes. On my way out the front desk staff addressed me by my name and said have a nice day. Their customer service skills are impeccable.

Quick check in process, access to a waitlist to see where you are at in line. There was a wait as I was a walk-in but it was a reasonable wait time. When I was taken back they took my vitals and then put me in a room. The doctor came in quickly evaluated me and gave me her recommendations and I was on my way. If the waiting room was a bit more inviting and cleaner I would have given five stars. But overall I would recommend and I will be back in the future if I have an urgent care need.

Was super happy to be able to book online so I didn't have to wait much. Was in and out in an hour which I count as a major asset for a health service. I also had a question after I left and was able to speak in person with my doc a few hrs later, which was also great! Definitely will visit here again when I need urgent care.

I wish I could have hugged them all. Great place great care. I was in and out in about 3 hours. I made a reservation and filled out all paperwork online before I came. Awesome Awesome 🤩
