This was the first time I had been to Sweetwater Tavern. The food was excellent and the service was great. My friend recommended I eat the salmon and it turned out to be a great choice. Probably the best tasting salmon I've eaten. My friend had a steak and he said it was very good. My only negative comments would be the price. The prices seemed high for the portions. The salmon plate was $28 and the steak plate was $41.

Sweetwater Tavern is another member of the Great American restaurant chain. All of these restaurants keep their menus simple with a number of items you can find at nearly all the restaurants, but also a few unique items too. The beer selection is quite good with a number of less common local beers. In the past these restaurants did not take reservations and you could only call ahead. At least with this Sweetwater you can call ahead now. Highly recommend.

Visited here for the 1st time and it was a spectacular experience! The food was absolutely delicious and I loved the variety and creativity of the menu. Our waiter was fantastic and the food did not take long to come out. We had no complaints and plan to visit again soon!

Decent restaurant full of holiday vibes. They’ve really done a great job on decorating everything. Even my kid behaved much better than when we were at other restaurants. Salad and kids meal were great! The Calamari was fine. They’ve added in onions to make the flavor more intense I guess. The drunken ribeye was good, full of flavor. But I was a bit disappointed with the quality of the cut. For that price, I expected a bit more than that.overall it’s good experience dining there.

This was our first visit to Sweetwater Tavern but we will definitely be back. I have to talk about the staff first. There was not one person we interacted with who didn’t show us the same excellent level of customer service. The customer service is so consistent that it stood out. The food was also delicious! We loved everything we ordered. My salad was amazing! The melted goat cheese and spiced pecans were to die for. The calamari pairs very well with the sauce provided- the fried onions mixed in were also a welcomed treat. My husband seemed to enjoy his pasta since he completely cleaned his plate. The bread and butter… *chef’s kiss* There is plenty of parking and the view of you sit outdoors is amazing. We chose to sit indoors only because I hate the heat and it was a little warm for me to sit outdoors. (I look for air conditioning at 75F lol) It’s right next to Olive Garden but don’t be tempted to go to OG… go to Sweetwater Tavern instead. You’ll thank me later.

An excellent choice for our Birthday celebration dinner. The service was very good and the food was delicious. We were greeted with warm smile the minute we walked in the door and seated immediately. Everything was hot, plated nicely and flavorful. Even the rolls, which we love were tough to put down. Overall, I recommend for any occasion and any size group.

Excellent service, the waiters and hosts are well trained and attentive to guest needs at all times. The food is very well worth the price, although the steak could do some work as it's not as tender or juicy as a steak house steak. They have a great draft beer selection that has a variety suitable for anyone. The atmosphere is very comfortable and there is the possibility of eating inside or outside. My personal favorite is the salmon filet, very juicy, tender, and has a buttery taste. They are very caring for their customers so if one encounters an issue then they are more than likely to get it fixed by a higher up or manager. It's a must try for food enjoyers and beer conosieurs.

One of my favorite restaurants! I no longer live in the area but when I’m in town I make sure to come by here (or one of the other Great American restaurants). Food is delicious and consistent. I was very impressed by the Field Salad. Unfortunately, salads often seem to be an afterthought but this one was delicious! The toasted pine nuts were an especially classy touch. The tex-Mex egg rolls were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The avocado sauce that comes with them is a perfect complement. The mains: I always feel a little childish ordering the chicken tenders but they are just SO GOOD. The breading on them is light, crispy, and bubbly and the chicken is moist. The hanger steak was incredible — perfectly cooked and buttery. The mahi mahi special was also great! Save room for dessert — the flourless chocolate waffle is decadent and a perfect size to share with a date. The homemade root-beer is also delicious, I rarely drink soda but always have to get it. The wait staff here are some of the best! Attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable.

“I had an amazing dining experience at Sweet Water in Virginia! The salmon fish and pasta were outstanding – bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The staff was incredibly friendly and provided excellent service. The cozy ambiance added to the overall charm. I highly recommend Sweet Water for a delightful meal, and I’ll definitely be returning!”

We love Sweetwater! It’s about 20 minutes from our house, if it was even closer we’d go there more often. I didn’t get photos of the meals, but took photos of the wheel chair access (which is great - auto-open to get into and out of the restaurant) and the indoor and outdoor areas. The food has always been awesome when we go there. We love the Field Green salad and loaded baked potato. I’ve had the halibut previously and it was really good. Their burgers are the best, seriously! They have a little char on them and the fries are also good.

I really enjoy coming back to Sweetwater, it's been awhile. This is my first time in Sterling area, I normally go to the one in Merrifield. I brought a friend here, she's never been to Sweetwater. I love the selection of beers here, my favorite is the Naked River Golden Lager. Really love all their foods here, we started with the Tex Mex Roll. I wanted some salsa sauce but they didn't have it. I remembered they had it once, it wasn't as tasty without the salsa. My main course was Pasta Jumbalaya and my friend got the Drunken Ribeye. It was delicious, love their portion. Highly recommend this place, I'm sure we will be back again.

Started off with the bread basket, spin dip, and lobster bisque. Bisque was a little on the salty side but had great flavor! Spinach artichoke dip was good and just what you’d expect. The bread was different, but good, almost like a fried bread, slightly sweet with a honey butter that makes it very hard to resist. For the main, my buddy got the chicken strips, and I ordered the 12oz prime rib blackened. The waitress came back and told me they were out of the 12oz, but had the 16oz….. mmmkay, 16oz it is, but couldn’t you just…. Never mind… we split both. The prime rib was cooked perfectly and delicious, blackened is definitely the way to go. The chicken strips had really good flavor, but if they sit to long they get soggy really quickly. Over all, I’d recommend a stop in. From what we experienced, the execute dish well and seem eager to please. Good service. Oh, and a large selection of craft brews, not so much on the domestic side.

First time at this restaurant and will definitely come back when in the area. Had a flight out of Dulles in the morning and hotel concierge recommended Sweetwater. Definitely worth it. Our waitress Lynda was amazing and the food was excellent. Had the bread basket of which the Ozzie rolls was the favorite. Also ordered the tuna salad and chicken tenders. Salad had huge chunks of tuna and the tenders had a light and flavorful coating. Wits End and Paleface beers hit the mark. Great atmosphere!

Visited with colleagues. The food was presented beautifully. If you like crab cakes, they are very good here. Soft, fresh and melt in your mouth. Dessert was very good too : pecan apple pie.

This place is a hidden gem. Usually go to Jackson’s, but heard this restaurant is in the same family, so gave it a try. Well worth the trip. Very cool atmosphere, nice bar area. Outdoor seating and great vibe inside. I wanted the prime rib, but sold out early. So ended up with the pork chop. Was cooked to perfection. My server was amazing, feel badly I forgot his name. I travel to Dulles often, so will definitely be back! I highly recommend this place. Come out and support your local businesses and avoid chains!

One of our favorite places. You can’t go wrong with any dish. Everything is so yummy. Favorites are the crab fritters, roast chicken, and the Ozzie rolls.

I was very pleased with my first visit to Sweetwater. The service was some of the best I've ever had. Our waiter was extremely polite and accommodating. The food was really good as well. It was a little expensive, but it was worth it. I really enjoyed the salmon.

My husband and I have been coming to this location for 10 years together, although he has been coming here longer, and we have never had an experience like we did today. Just to note, we have always had a positive experience. Food has always been wonderful and filling, in addition to the service. We're big craft beer people and we do like the Expedition IPA, 100% recommend when they have it. Today was a different experience. The appetizer plates were filthy, one with dried food particles and another greasy as all get out. My husband's fork had dried food on it, like enough to notice when you take it out of the dishwasher and the second was almost as bad but he was annoyed and settled for being able to pick off whatever was stuck. Beer was delicious (Expedition). The Tex Mex Eggrolls were good, as always. My husband enjoyed the bisque and a Caesar salad. I ordered the Grilled Chicken and Havarti Cheese sandwich, as I have done at least 50 times before, and I was absolutely shocked at what I received. I probably got a 4oz piece of chicken, cut in half, on each half of the delicious ice box bread. It was so disappointing. On previous visits, I was presented with breast (or two) that covered the entire sandwich and may have even gone off the sides! We did bring this to the attention of a manager and we did not, and do not, want anything out of this review other than to point out that a $17 chicken sandwich should actually be over 50% chicken. We had more arugula on the sandwich and were joking that it was a arugula grilled cheese.

Been 3 Times. Everytime food exceed my expectations. Drunken RibEye might be the best stake I ever had. Nice selection of draft beer. If you get a table won't be dissapointed.

We love coming here for the Ozzie rolls! We also started with the calamari, which wasn’t anything special - they mixed it with fried onions, which only added more oily batter taste than anything else. My husband enjoyed the sirloin tip pasta, thanks to our waiter’s recommendation, while my mother and I shared fish tacos, a house salad and the Louisiana pasta. The pasta was a bit salty but everything else was great. Good experience but we do wish the menu had more variety. We’re excited to try the good eats emporium across the street next!

Nice restaurant! Great beer - They brew the beer so it’s fresh and flavorful! Food are nice too - steak and rib! Appetizer would be recommended! Pleasant dining experience!

Unbelievable service and incredible food. You won't be disappointed. There is so much thought and care put into every dish. The server timed the meal perfectly. The expo team was energetic and friendly. We had a rough day of hospital treatments, and this restaurant put a perfect and positive end on our day. Thank you for the memorable experience!

Very large restaurant with a very limited menu. They only have micro brews for beer and they are pricey. Food portions are very small. On the plus, the two ladies tending bar were fantastic. Super attentive and fun. Would go back just for their service.

Stopped here after a Sam's club run, what a delight. I ordered the crab shrimp fritters, Brussel sprouts, assorted bread basket and key lime pie. Everything was tasty. Service was excellent , atmosphere a little loud. Can't wait to try when I can sit outside on the water
