This restaurant was recommended to me by my B&B hostess as a wonderful place for seafood. I travel alone, and enjoy sitting at bars, because the bartenders are usually quite attentive. I don’t know if they were short staffed, but the young man who carefully made my Manhattan, which was lovely, turned out to be one of several waiters who were making drinks for their own patrons. I had the seafood chowder, which was wonderful, but was delivered by someone who happened to be passing it in the kitchen. I had also ordered the starter version of the king prawn scampi. They were delivered by yet another waiter, and I was very surprised to find that they were breaded and fried. The description had been that they would be deep-fried, but they were breaded, and they were also cold. I could not get the attention of my original waiter, and at no point was I offered water or asked if I was enjoying my meal. I had to interrupt another waiter to order a glass of wine. I had observed all the other waiters prepare glasses for white wine by adding ice cubes to the glass to chill it before pouring the wine. This was not done with my glass, and the waiter who I had asked for it, delivered it very abruptly and left me, as though I had interrupted him. All in all, it was an incredibly disappointing experience.

Nice place. They have the best oysters I ever tried so far, and the price is ok. Burger is good, not the best. However, a bit dirty, feels like the place is not ventilated enough. Overall, I recommend. I’ll come back for oysters.

We ate dinner here per the recommendation of a local. It was absolutely delicious! One of the best restaurants we’ve eaten at in Ireland. We ordered seafood chowder, oysters, mussels, beet salad with goat cheese, fish and chips and the special, crispy duck and noodles. We loved everything! The atmosphere is nice and there is seating inside and outside if the weather is good.

Great local pub. The fish was terrific. Out door seating and many rooms for dining. We sat at the bar and see ally enjoyed our meal. Very close to the water. Kinsale is beautiful!

Location , service all good. We ordered two fish and chips - fish was fresh and tasty . I’m wondering why did we get only one portion of chips for two people. We observed people who also ordered fish and chips and the table beside us got one same basket of chips for 3!!! People. Does restaurant try to save money on spuds???? Really? The prices are quite high €18 for portion so I can’t understand the problem . Next time we will eat beside the fort where fish and chips costs €12 and everyone has own chips . 🤷‍♀️ Could be better Jim Edwards

Amazing pub lunches! Just what we needed after a morning driving tour. Fantastic duck stir fry and open faced crab salad sandwich. Not to forget the brews. A delight.

Very good popular restaurant with a varied menu in a nautical themed pub. Very good on sea food, the Oysters in particularly were fresh and well presented. A long established restaurant and well worth a visit.

Great find just a few minutes away from the Marina and coach drop off. Great service. Had the oysters with Guinness..both were fabulous...and a lovely spot to sit outside in the sun and watch the world go bye.

We had a gorgeous family meal for four. I had the duck breast which was perfectly cooked, my husband had the monkfish which he reckoned was the best he ever ate. The children had fish and burger and enjoyed it. The staff were very attentive and the atmosphere was just right. Would highly recommend Jim Edwards!

We had lunch at the bar. Very nice and cozy. Friendly staff. The food was okay. The panfried place was good but all the other dishes lacked a bit of flavour.
