I am putting 1 star review not for the staff but to the so called hotel. I do not know how this hotel is still in operation. Very very dirty and many broken items. Stay away especially if you are travelling with children. Broken balcony glass. Spiders in rooms. Dead mosquitoes. List too long. Staff was always helpful and breakfast was good, but nothing else.

The rooms do not have air conditioned (so hot in summer). My room was without towels. The electricity shut down in the whole room while turning on the light. Rooms has from one side of the hotel so hot in summer and in the other side a train rail way passing so close to the rooms several times (2 trains every hour). The wifi is so slow. The parking is a mess, so tigth for big cars and it looks like a Motel. Instalations too old. The room does not have proper seat for working from the hotel. In my experience this should not be even 2 stars hotel. I would recommend to go to another one.

Friendly staff, nice rooms. The dear-head on top of the bed scared me at first though😅 Breakfast was really good, but the options for vegans were a bit rare. All in all a very nice, old, fancy atmosphere.

You get housekeeping only when you remind them. At night, the reception is handled by a security service agency, which can not answer any questions of a hotel business. The atmosphere of the whole hotel is old, aged, and depressing

Amazing friendly staff. But the hotel is very dated.

Firstly the good news, the receptionists were pleasant and helpful and the reception/bar/restaurant area was very nice with pools of Goldfish, candles and a very Zen feel to it. Other than that, forget it. It looks do nice in the photos on the website but they were obviously very well staged and set up. Rooms were very old fashioned and in urgent need of a refurb and a good clean. The bed on our first night was broken and we spent most of the night awake trying to crawl out of the massive sag in the middle. To be fair, upon complaining the next morning the receptionist changed our room and the new bed was better but still sagged in the middle. Breakfast time was difficult, there were plenty of staff but they spent more time racing around like blue arsed flies going nowhere or running their hands through their hair and no time at all topping up the empty food and drink counters. Obviously the hotel also thinks it has five stars with its food and drink prices, out of my range for sure. Almost €6 for water and €10 for a 0,25 glass of wine? They have to be joking right? It was €6 cheaper just down the road. And over €20 for a set meal of a poxy green salad to start, a slice of pork and a dozen chips for main, followed by a jar of mousse straight from the €1 counter an the supermarket. Yes the hotel is conveniently situated for the town and railway station but a herd of stampeding elephants couldn't drag me back.

If you go into it with proper expectations you'll enjoy your stay as we did. We were in town for the parade and celebration and this was easy walking distance to the city center. It is a very tired and worn property with decor that looks like it was last updated maybe in the '80s. The bed and pillows were surprisingly comfortable, shower had plentiful hot water, front desk was fast and friendly as was the breakfast staff. Breakfast buffet was more than plentiful with a variety of hot and cold options. If you can overlook scuffs, dings, paint and wallpaper that need TLC it's a great value. We parked in the garage for an additional 3 euro.

Nice but older hotel. The room was large, comfy bed, bathroom with a tub 🛀, nice balcony view! The reception and restaurant area has no windows, feels very dark. But the breakfast and the coffee was great 👍 Dog friendly 👍🐩

During my stay, "housekeeping" walked in on me unannounced while I was not fully clothed, and while standing in my room, tried to start a conversation with me. I had to yell at them to get out of my room. The man who accessed my room was not dressed as staff - they had on a tie-dyed shirt and had no cleaning cart with them. Super concerning security risk. We came to this hotel for their stated fitness center amenities advertised on this google listing. The staff were surprised when I asked where it was - there isn't a fitness center, there never has been a fitness center. Just false advertising. When the pillows were lumpy, my partner asked for two new ones. He was told they didn't have any - despite the hotel being mostly empty - and we were given TOWELS to use as pillows. The other comments here are quite true - trains so loud you can barely sleep, outdated decor, tricky parking, etc. I take these as my fault for not reading the comments in detail first. However, my 1 star review comes from the completely preventable issues above.
