The
very
best
treatment
at
the
Ulm
University
Hospital
ENT:
My
emergency
room
in
the
ENT
Ulm
intensive
care
unit
due
to
a
suspected
tear
in
the
esophagus
was
quick
and
professional.
The
care
provided
by
the
intensive
care
unit
staff
was
always
very
competent,
friendly
and
always
very
responsive
to
my
problems.
I
had
the
feeling
that
I
was
in
good,
well-trained
hands.
Due
to
another
ongoing
emergency
operation
on
a
child,
I
had
to
wait
some
time,
much
to
my
chagrin.
During
the
transition
period
leading
up
to
my
surgery,
I
received
the
best
possible
care
and
pain
relief.
My
condition
was
now
unbearably
bad,
despite
all
the
painkillers.
Every
swallowing
movement
caused
maximum
pain
in
the
throat
and
upper
chest
area.
I
could
hardly
speak
anymore.
Prof.
Dr.
S.
performed
the
operation
perfectly.
He
triple
stitched
the
tear
in
my
esophagus.
The
left
outer
neck
area
was
closed
with
16
metal
clips.
An
approximately
15
cm
long
surgical
scar
can
still
be
found
today.
He
did
great.
Immediately
after
waking
up,
when
I
swallowed,
I
had
the
good
feeling
that
Prof.
Dr.
S.
everything
was
ârepairedâ
correctly
and
well.
The
subsequent
care
and
further
treatment
was
always
great
and
full
of
empathy.
I
can't
think
of
a
time
when
my
questions
and
concerns
weren't
addressed
in
a
friendly,
quick
and
competent
manner.
I
received
the
best
possible
medical
and
human
support
around
the
clock
until
I
was
discharged
today.
Many
thanks
to
all
the
people
who
accompanied
me
so
lovingly
on
my
difficult
and
painful
journey.
On
the
negative
history
at
the
Heidenheim
Clinic:
During
a
"swallowing
echo
examination"
(TEE)
at
the
Heidenheim
Clinic
(Brenz),
the
attending
physician
managed
to
pierce
my
esophagus
with
the
ultrasound
probe
without
having
completed
the
examination.
After
several
interventions
on
my
part,
after
waking
up
in
the
room
because
of
unbearable
pain
when
swallowing,
I
was
quickly
referred
to
the
University
Hospital
Ulm
ENT
for
an
emergency
operation
due
to
life-threatening
conditions.
It
is
a
mystery
to
me
and
some
knowledgeable
friends
of
mine
how
such
gross
negligence
can
occur
and
then
you
are
pushed
into
the
room
as
if
nothing
had
happened.
