The atmosphere is very welcoming. Tamarai design layout was done to perfection. It's very interesting how very small spaces can have so much space offering a lounge, play area, bar, VIP lounge etc. The thatch roof is the highlight giving clients an eco-friendly feeling while dining. Warm lighting makes evening dinning quite special. The food is exceptional, they have a wide menu with a lot of continental dishes. The bar side is pretty private and busy well suited for the people who like the privacy when having a good time.

A very pleasant restaurant. Large parking lot and area. There is a gift shop. The kitchen is very good. Lots of different cocktails. Brunch is held every first Sunday. If you are going to sit with your drinks, it will be more expensive to bring a bottle of whiskey or wine than in other bars.

A friend highly recommended this restaurant for a small friends reunion so we decided to have it there. The staff were so warm and welcoming as they showed us to our table. I was impressed by the lady (dint get her name) who showed us around so we could get the table we preferred. It is a quiet and Lovely restaurant. Beautiful ambiance lots of green, cool and Very cozy. It’s an intimate restaurant not overly crowded with tables and Would be a Nice place for a romantic date, casual meals, hanging out with friends and small parties like birthday parties or baby showers. Plus you can bring in your own cake. There is also wheel chair access to the restaurant. We ordered several dishes on the menu and they were all amazing. The food presentation was awesome and the food itself was very delicious. Personally I heard the pepper steak and it was perfectly made. Haven’t had steak this nice anywhere around. I really enjoyed every bite of it. The sauce was great too. One My friends had friends had grilled duck and it was well done too. Not dry at all and the other had Mongolian beef which was also awesome. We basically loved all the food we had there. I too highly recommend this place. The food prices were average too. Not so expensive and not cheap but definitely worth it. You would fall in love with this place. However, The car Parking space is quite small. Also, one of my friends asked for a lychee cooler (a juice) which appeared on the menu and the waiter said they couldn’t make it at the moment.

First time here and enjoyed this cuisine! Parking is pretty tight but service was good. We ordered the papaya salad but the full flavor wasn’t there. The pad Thai was good though, as was the massaman curry. Overall, I would return to try other menu items.

The food is extremely tasty and delicious and I can really recommend the crispy mushrooms as a starter or the Nasi Goreng as a Main Course! The waiters are also nice and there is even a playground for children. And although the food was so extremely delicious why am I only giving 4 stars? It is not a nice place to sit in, it is very dark and there are spiders. So 4 stars for the very delicious food but also the ambience which wasn't that nice. Other than that recommendable!

The Thai food is lacking the true Asian signature such as fish sauce,palm sugar,spicy chilli and the sour taste.The sushi need the sweet mirin in the sushi rice mixture. But to be fair this is Africa and you cannot expect them to have full ingredients. If you are Asian or you have been to Thailand and Japan and tasted the real food ,you cannot expect the same taste to reach your pallate. They tried their best with what is available.If you like Asian fusion then it is good to try.Great ambience. Great choice of liquor. I just had the most amazing sushi at tamarai. The seafood was super fresh and the price was extremely reasonable. Great place for a sushi wine dinner at an affordable price. I would recommend trying the refresher roll if you are a fan of spice.

From the minute you step into the place all up until the point that you leave your always attended to. The servers are amazing, always checking in to make sure your good. Food doesn't take long to reach your table. The aura of place is relaxing. Not forgetting how they're preventing the spread of Corona by integrating virtual menus. All in all 10/10. It's some sort of hidden gem around town and not as expensive as I thought, actually quite affordable than so many similar places, they off great meals both local and exotic, friendly customer case, safety measures (SOPs) in regards TO Covid19, though much as the place looks nice but it was below my expectation, the table I was allocated too was a little dusty and they didn't seem to be aware, I was happy about the kids play ground though.

Tamarai is the go to place if you need an spacious environment with ambiance as a group of friends. Excellent cuisine

Not a very nice experience. Food took long to come and when we arrived there was no waiter to direct us to the table. After we asked a confused guy behind the counter he found an equally confused waiter for us. We ordered food and drinks right away, but both took terribly long to arrive. The starter we ordered, Vietnamese spring rolls, was nice. However, the mains very disappointing. My wife ordered a soup which seemed to consist of 50% vinegar. My green thai curry was mediocre and came with a teaspoon of rice on the side. The waiters were slow and did not really seem to worry about checking on us. I don't think we are coming back.

We ordered Tamari through the Jumia Food App. Ordering was easy, and came within 1 hour. However, the food was packed so poorly, that the soup spilled all over the cabana. The Jumia driver was very sympathetic and returned the delivery. It took 2.5 hours from my original order to get a replacement order. We ordered chicken pad Thai and Mongolian beef with fried rice. The pad Thai, tastes very sweet with vinegar hues. This is not a traditional pad Thai. The portion is large. The Mongolian beef was flavorful and had just the right amount of chili. The fried rice was ok, although awkward with corn. We tried to like this place, but will not be ordering again.

Generally known for their Thai food we tried them for their Sunday Roast that happens every 1st Sunday of the month. Well worth it. Start with an ice tea cooler. Then some very basic Sushi though it is just that and better for vegetarians. No salmon here naturally. But then they have a great spread of veggies and meat options for their Mongolian. Multiple options for their pasta station with white sauce, tomato sauce and even a pesto sauce. Barbecue station with chicken tikka and pork chops. Snack like starters. Desert was fruits, banana fritters with ice cream. Oh and did I forget it is 'all you can eat' and had a live performance from a lady with an absolutely awesome voice redesigning some great numbers.

The ambiance is amazing. Very serene and welcoming, the hostess ushered us to our table which is not a very common trait in Kampala. Some of us ordered the sushi tree which was full of variety and freshness, also, super filling. The others that ordered traditional Thai dishes also really enjoyed their experience, I would definitely give Tamarai a 5 star rating!

My wife lost her phone at Tamarai restaurant today and the manager told me he can not access the camera today. He wants to call me back tomorrow. I worry there could be collusion among the staff and no one seems to be taking our complaint seriously

Lovely Japanese restaurant in a good location of Kampala. They have a variety of foods and good sushi options. They have vegetarian options as well. It's child friendly, they have a small playground. They also have a smoking section for shisha (argile) and regular smoking.

It was dinner on a weekday, the place was not fully occupied. The waiter took time to take our orders as well as assisted us pick a variety. They offer both local and imported beers, the food was served and on point ( beef with chilli curry, chicken, potato wedges and mashed potatoes). The food is fairly priced. The food service was good and the wash rooms were clean. The atmosphere was serene,they played nice music.
