We've had stellar breakfasts all over this summer. Really delicious raucous affairs of eggs, bacon, and pancakes. But the breakfast at the Thon is simply the BEST breakfast you can get anywhere. There is no better way to put it. The beetroot shot was thee icing on the cake. My wife wants me to comment on the wonderful assortment of fresh produce berries and the layout was inviting and well designed. We need to mention that we only took the breakfast as we were camping in the area but we fully intend to return one day and will have a stay at the Thon. 10/10🏆

Great location right on the waterfront, 2 mins walk to middle of town. Comfortable scandi-style rooms, huge shower. Expensive restaurant with very poor service, not enough staff, surrounded by uncleared tables. Cancelled our main course after waiting an hour & half and left.

Great view. Modern and spacious. Friendly Service. Good Food. Expensive. We would return.

It is right next to the water, with a great breakfast. Kirkenes is a great place to experience life in the north of Norway. Thon hotel was great for us because we could go to the Snowhotel for one night and Thon for the other night, to complete the experience. It is right next to the water, so get a sea view. The breakfast was great and the transfer to the airport excellent.

Two times I bought beer in the bar, both times they tried to sell me 0,4l in a 0,5l glass. And the excuse is that it's the first beer of the day. Still should produce a full glass, not half filled with foam.

The hotel and rooms there are nice. Spacious and clean rooms. However, the restaurant is disappointing. It’s menu is overpriced, slow and poor service, taste of the food could be improved too.

Kirkenes is the end of the world. It's a small town that calls itself the capital of king crabs of the world. Thon hotels all do something special. In this case it is their restaurant which stands out. I had a very nice piece of halibut. That made me very happy as I missed out last time I was in Canada. Location doesn't mean much in a place like Kirkenes. The hotel is right on the water in fact built on a platform over the water. Can't Imagine That Real estate was a problem but who knows. FWIW the hotel is located maybe 10 min from the monument to the liberation of Kirkenes from the Nazis By Soviet Troops. One might also note that in the center of town signs are written in Norwegian and Russian, because of the numbers of Russians who lived here about 100 years ago. And last but not least you are a few miles from the Russian border and about 3 HR drive from Murmansk! Cool...

A nice hotel by the pier in Kirkenes. The room was very decent and the view was also overall nice. The restaurant was quite good overall and the waiter was a real gem as well. He took time to chat and make the experience much better than the norm. Parking was there as well but 100kr a day.

We had a great experience! We arrived off the ferry early and they were able to check us in at 10 in the morning! The room was spacious, and the breakfast was amazing. We would definitely stay again!

Breakfast was amazing! Loved it very much 🥰 Room was in a perfect temperature for sleeping, but the floor seems hollow and it makes loud noises when we walk on it.

The frontdesk is very helpful and welcoming. Room is in the city center just next to the seaside, you may have a beautiful view from your room if you are lucky. Breakfast has various choices and good quality, I had a very good stay with Thon.

Managed to catch aurora just outside the hotel while enjoying a glass of wine in the hotel bar. Amazing. The lady bartender was very friendly too and made me feel comfortable as a solo female customer. Staff at the lobby was attentive to the hotel guests. Mesmerised by the snowy night view from my room.

Excellent hotel, like all the Thon Hotels. If I ever return to Norway, I will definitely stay in a Thon hotel. The rooms are excellent, staff impecable, breakfast amazing and the location of them seems to be always the best. We also had dinner one of the nights we stayed and again it was perfect! Well done Thon, you have cracked the secret of hospitality!

Our first time here. Lovely hotel with a great view of the Barents Sea! Enjoyed the hotel breakfast immensely! Near King Crab Safari and Snowhotel.

You can watch Aurora from the hotel, so it’s perfect for tourists. But the room is just ok, the sound proof is non-existent, plus they actually equipped Bluetooth speaker in each room 😂

Beautiful hotel on the water, excellent breakfast and helpful staff. Very very warm heated bathroom! Great for drying towels in winter. Walking distance to town.

The location is with great views and calm and serene. The breakfast was wonderful with many options. Best place to stay in Kirkenes

The amazing breakfast spread with a sea view makes us happy .. croissants that flakes n crisp .. with a wide variety of jams/cheese/butter, savoury smoked salmon. 👏🏻 I couldn't get to all of it tho!🤭 Fully recharged.. 👻 Delightful staff & clean rooms.. Overall, it's a really nice hotel facing the sea.. unfortunately we didn't get a room with the seaview 😂😅

Didn’t stay here, but came for some dinner and a drink twice. Food excellent. Staff super friendly and nice, and gave me free coffees. It is often the latest place open in Kirkenes. It was expensive, but in Norway everything is expensive…

I am a world traveler but I can honestly say this is the best breakfast ever!! Gorgeous presentation…open kitchen.. Fresh orange juice and They even had Beetroot juice with ginger shots! And this at the end of the world! Nice start of the day… Leonora Nieuwenhuizen

Stayed at Thon hotel whilst waiting to join Hurtgruten Polarlys. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. Would be very happy to stay here again.

After travelling almost 20 hours from the USA, the ease of check in was much appreciated! The room looked like it was recently remodeled and even though it was in the modern Scandinavian style, very cozy. The breakfast buffet was excellent!
