観覧。
旧諸戸静六邸
六華苑(ろっかえん)。
1913年(大正2年)竣工、1997年(平成9年)に国の重要文化財に指定。2001年(平成13年)庭園が名勝に指定。
山林王として知られた2代目諸戸静六の個人宅として、鹿鳴館などを手掛けた日本近代建築の父ジョサイア・コンドル設計で建築されました。
洋館と和館が繋がった珍しい建物で、桑名市の観光名所として知られています。
この日は晴天、前々から観たかった六華苑だけのために桑名市にやって来ました。
車を走らせる事約二時間、少しお腹が空き始めたAM11:30くらいに到着。揖斐川沿いの駐車場に車を停め、いざ出発。
エントランスは日本式で木造です。そちらで入館料を支払い、入ってちょっと先を道沿いに左に曲がります。目の前にはとても個人邸宅とは思えない淡い青の外壁の洋館。そこの入り口ではなく右側に増築?されたカフェが入り口になります。窓際に椅子が並んでおり、そこからは裏庭が見えてくつろげる場所になっています。それを横目に先ずは右側の和館の中へ。裏庭に面した長い廊下沿いに和室が三つ。戸を開けると裏庭と表側の名勝が見えるようになっています。違った景色が見える不思議な空間です。
洋館は左側。1階は二部屋、2階女中部屋を合わせて公開されているのは3部屋。会議や仕事用に使っていたのかな?って感じで生活臭のしない部屋です。でもテラスで庭を眺めながらティータイムしたら最高でしょうね。女中部屋はめっちゃ狭くて布団を敷いたら足の踏み場に困るくらいです。一人だけだったのかな?
この日は二組が結婚式の記念撮影をされていました。親族の方々もここの美しさにテンション上がりまくってはしゃいでおられました。
中も外も、中からの外、外からの中。どこを観てもウットリする場所で、3時間も滞在していました。
駐車場は揖斐川沿いと道を挟んだちょっと奥に無料の専用駐車場があります。全部合わせたら50台くらい停められるかも?
