The home cooked meals and groomed trails made for a great weekend escape. We brought our skates for the pond and we took a ride on a horse drawn sled. The farm's dog was wonderfully friendly. It snowed our first night and the trails were groomed the following morning. We ended up using the night time trail (strings of light along the route) and eventually skied out to the nearby winery.

We had an absolutely magical weekend at Palmquist Farm! If your family is looking for a peaceful, unplugged getaway, this is your place! Helen and Jim take such excellent care of their guests and you can't beat the scenery. We had snowball fights, did cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, skating, and ended our stay with a sleigh ride. To warm up, we spent some time in the Finnish sauna - heaven! The cabins are cozy, every meal is made with love, and you're sure to meet a few new friends. Can't wait to return! 💕

Cannot say enough good things about Jim and Helen. The property is BEAUTIFUL. Maintained so well. Our horses were loved on, safe, and secure. The lodge was breathtaking. The trails were amazingly groomed and marked. The food...oh my goodness. Bring stretchy pants. Helen's cooking is amazing!! Can't wait until next year!

Over the past the 30 years we have had the pleasure of several stays at the Palmquist Farm! At the farm you have groomed cross country ski trails right out your cabin doorstep, and can follow that up with a bake in the sauna. We have yet to work up the courage to run from the sauna and roll in the snow as is the Finnish tradition. It might have had something to do with the daytime temperatures in the single digits! Included in your stay, you will be fed 3 "farm" meals a day. You WON'T go hungry. Jim and Helen Palmquist are wonderful hosts.

What a gem! Jim and Helen are amazing hosts. We had three fun-filled days. We originally thought if we got bored we could drive to the U.P. for some downhill skiing, but that wasn't needed. My kids asked if they could live there, asked when they could go back...there were lots of long faces when we packed up. Great family fun!

Amazing hosts, homemade food, and cute cabins. We brought our horses and enjoyed beautiful trails even though they were on the wet side due to lots of rain. The prices are a little steep but for an every once in a while stay it is worth it.

My husband and I took our horses there for our second honeymoon. Loved it! The trails were a bit soggy from all the rain, but Jim would tell us every morning which ones to ride and he got up early to check trails for us. Helen's cooking can't be beat. The Finnish dishes were fantastic. The cabins were cozy and clean. And the winery... Very nice. Next year we are going to book the sauna cabin. This is a beautiful place owned by beautiful people.

Incredible service, food, and genuine good folks. Log home style cabins with large natural fireplaces. Quiet and tranquil place. A different meal each time from haddock to chili. My favorite was bone in chicken with flank steak. Homemade deserts each night. All you can eat at every meal. Cabins are charming and in great order. We will be back.

Our granddaughter was married here Oct 28. What a fabulous day and such beautiful surroundings! We loved our rustic accommodations and the greatest bed! We will be back! BTW, the food we had for breakfast was amazing!
