Stunning gardens, super friendly staff and delicious food - that's the only way to describe Knysna Social Eatery. The restaurant is located in the mountains away from the Knysna lagoon. It is a very tranquil and calm setting. Their gardens are exquisite and the noise of splashing water from the numerous fountains creates a relaxing ambience. The staff and restaurant management were warm and welcoming and the service was impeccable. The food is delicious and the portions are generous. We had the fried fish and the fish cakes - you simply cannot fault the food. We will definitely return and possibly even look to spend a few nights in one of their stunning villas.

Grabbed a light dinner here with my family, nice varied and healthy menu. Lovely wine options. There is an outdoor playground and areas for kids to play. The food was very tasty.

Unbelievably slow service. We waited THREE HOURS for our main course on Christmas day, and another 40 minutes for dessert. It was a set menu, and the place was about halfway full. Not at all good value for money. Coffee cups were very small, and not included with the meal. To top it off, one of our party was hit in the head by the restroom door, when a cleaning lady walked into the bathroom.

Out of all the places visited, this has by far been the most hospitable. Thanks to professionally designed interiors, Covid-19 would be a hard one to pass on. Enjoy clear mountain air while having your breakfast and coffee while admiring the beautiful garden views. A hidden location in Knysna, but quite a trendy place! As a fan of Social on Main in Johannesburg, I was quite excited to stumble upon the eatery whilst in a road trip. I gather that the place was fairly new and still kind of finding its feet. The ambiance was not that appealing, but it was overshadowed by the sophisticated setting. The waiters were slow and the manager just a tad feisty, but I do think it will all come together with time. Overall, not a bad place to stumble into if you are ever in that side of the world.

One of my favourite places in George to relax in a quiet environment with a feel of a by-gone era! The carrot cake is AMAZING! It is a bit pricey at R50 a slice but always delicious and moist. The staff are friendly and they do an excellent Flat White. The Bridgehouse Burger also comes highly recommended.

What a beautiful setting, the gardens are so well kept and while eating here you feel so at easyss. The menu is a bit small but there's quite unique things to choose from. Really liked the scenery and the new building and of course the food. Very unfortunate to hear the total place burned down some years ago. After rebuilding the place COVID was taking over SA. Unbelievable to hear what the staff and owners went through. During load shedding we still had amazing food. The meat was very very tender and the local beers were on point. Would come back, but also to sleep. We slept somewhere else. We took an uber back to our lodging. We also liked the way we paid for a social project. 5 rand is nothing if you can eat here.
