Spectacular views from a spectacular building, when you get there take the elevator to the top then take the escalator to second highest level, have a walk around and take in the stunning views of Osaka, walk around, maybe have a drink or something to snack on, then climb the stairs or take the elevator to the top of the building where there’s an outside observation walk with breathtaking views. There is a souvenir shop to browse through with lots of things that may interest you. My favourite part of the exhibition is the information room which not only has descriptions of the building sequence in English, Chinese and Korean but best of all is the short 10-minute video which shows the lifting of the top structure with 4 cranes, the structure weighed 1040 tonnes and took 7 hours to lift into place, this is the first time for this practice to be used, I thoroughly recommend spending the time reading the information and watching the video, when you finish at the top be sure to walk around the beautiful garden oasis, it was fascinating to find a serene place like this in the middle of this huge metropolis, be sure to look for the vivid coloured carp that wait for you with mouth's open hoping for a snack. I hope you enjoy this magnificent structure as much as I did.

An amazing experience for a good price! The view was insane and I would recommend coming here at night as the lights were stunning. Book your tickets in advance so you are not in the line for long. Go up to the 3rd floor to get to the lift which takes you up there. The signage is easy to read.

Went on a weekday and it wasn’t too crowded. We didn’t buy the ticket in advance, got it through a self service machine at the entrance. Entrance fee to the top costs 1500 yen per adult. Is it worth it? Yes, I believe so. You can skip paying the 1500 yen entrance fee if you just want to go there for the famous instagram shot of the escalator ride up but that won’t get you to the rooftop. There’s a cafe up there and it’s priced quite reasonably. Best to get there before sunset and stay through till the sun sets and become dark. View is amazing! There’s also a little museum section that explains the history and engineering marvel of the building’s construction.

This is a must visit place in Osaka. Actually, this is at the heart point in Osaka. The city view specially at night from the top is incredible. The admission fee is 1500 yen per person. The structural view of the building is really unique. You can feel the spaceship tunnel escalator and enjoy the panoramic view. If you are a cityscape photographer then highly recommended to visit this building. In the basement area, there are many restaurants and cafe with reasonable prices dishes. Love locks are also selling there.

Great building structure in the Umeda area. The buildings are interconnected with the escalators and has earth quake proof technologies explained in the upper floors. Requires some walk from the station but worth to take a look. Entrance fee is required and there's a cafe in the top floor where you can view the entire city from the top. The highest floor has a sky view where you exposed to the air. Suggested to have an Osaka Amazing pass to bypass the queues and to enter for free as it costs 1500 , which constitute nearly 50% of your pass.

The building looks great both from the outside and inside. The entrance was hard to find at first and the price is quite high at ¥1500 per adult but the view over Osaka was great so I personally recommend doing it just once. It’s good to go at night for all of the lights from the city. There are also very informative posters inside to learn about the story of the building & the architectural choices behind it.

Free admission to the observatory before 4pm, but worth the price before/during/after sunset! My other half and I got to the observatory a bit after 5pm just in time to watch the sunset. The weather was clear so we got lucky. Though it was pretty crowded, we all gazed silently at the orange sunset as it made its way down. To be honest, it was life changing. There is a cafe that serves decently priced food and beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). In the picture below, I paid about $18 (~¥2700) for 2 pastas, takoyaki, bottled water, and whiskey with soda. Overall a pretty unique experience at a decent price. We spent 1.5 hours here. Highly recommend to come around this time when the skies are clear. I’ve taken pictures of the sunset as well, but they don’t do it justice. You gotta experience this for yourself!

Me and my partner wanted to watch the sunset from the sky building. We went on a weekday and the line was shorter than 20 minutes. Once you get to the top of the elevator (floor 39 if I remember right) you buy your tickets and head up the floating elevator, this is a cool experience. After that you have access to food and drink, i only bought alcohol and a beer was 700yen. Also, it has a small exhibition on the history of the building. We relaxed took in the views whilst indoors them went to the roof. Overall a great experience that I highly recommend. Unfortunately we had cloudy skies so the sunset wasn't as beautiful as it could have been. But that didn't matter when it got dark the city lighted up and it was a beautiful view to look at. And it was a stunning piece of architecture.

Beautiful night views of the city and city lights. Not sure what it's like during the day. Got a little lost because we didn't read the signs properly. So... go to level 3... walk down the long hall passed the 1st set of lifts and catch the lift to the top floor from there. You can purchase your ticket and redeem your prepaid ticket on that level. If you are interested in the engraved lock... be sure or order it online otherwise you'll miss out! There is loads of information and also guided tour at an added cost. There is also a souvenir shop and cafe there.

This is a must visit place in Osaka. The view from the top is incredible. Originally only planned to stay one hour here as I thought what could possibly be so exciting? But the views are just breathtaking. Easily stayed 2+ hours just watching the sun set.

Beautiful views at umeda sky building! You get a Birds Eye view of Osaka and the best thing is that the space is spacious enough that you get to enjoy the scenery without feeling pressured to move due to the crowd. The staff is very professional and systematic, and the crowd control was done extremely well. Recommended to visit!

I always see videos and posts about the escalators leading up to the building. FYI, the escalator view is free! It is actually leading up to the storey that sells the tickets to the observatory deck (need to pay). I didn't know until I went up ... But we decided to go to the observatory deck anyway since we were already here. The view did not disappoint! The building itself is not very tall (unlike the Tokyo Skytree), so you're actually closer to the ground hence the buildings are not just tiny dots of lights. The view is lovely when it's the sunset. Definitely no regrets.

Awesome place to take in the skyline and sights of Osaka. Used the Amazing Osaka Pass to enter but you can also buy tickets when you arrive. Enter via level 3 to take the elevator and escalator to the observatory. There’s a cafe here where you can sit and relax and take in the sights.

This place is quite a feat of architecture with a beautiful view. The reason for the 3 stars is because the ticket for the observatory and museum seem pretty expensive for what it is and the museum part of this ticket closes at 6. When I went and got both tickets, I did the observation deck first as I was nearing the time of the sun setting and completely lost out on the museum part which had no indication on the ticket of closing at 6. I was fortunate to get a refund for it but the lack of communication for this aspect as well as the really long wait times( because only 1 of their elevators was working) made me feel this place deserves 3 stars. That said this building is an amazing feat of architecture and has a wonderful view. Be sure to bring a warm jacket as the roof terrace view does get quite cold and windy.

Amazing views of Umeda Area in Osaka. Entrance is 1500 yen, but i think it definitely worth it. It has two levels for enjoy the view of the city. The first level is a closed space, and there are spaces for your to sit and even a nice cafeteria with a wide menu. Second space is open space, and is where you can catch the better views and pictures. Recommend!!

A fantastic way to end the day in Osaka city while watching the sunset and enjoying a cold local or international beer. The building offers a 360 degree view of the city. You can buy a lock in the shape of a heart with you and your loved one’s name engraved and place on the top of the building. Locks and engravings are by appointments only, so call or schedule ahead.

A great spot for observing Osaka from above. Make sure you sip a match tea at the top while enjoying the views. It may be necessary to line up before entering the lift to go to the top but it goes fast.

Some of the best views in Osaka. They have a cafe near the top which serves decently priced sandwiches and ice cream. Definitely come during the night because the night view of Osaka is great! Only complaint was that the entry fee is a little pricey for what it is.

The Umeda Sky Building's viewing deck offers an unparalleled panoramic experience of Osaka, making it a must-visit attraction for both locals and tourists. Situated in the heart of the city, the architectural marvel of the building itself adds to the allure of the visit. The glass-enclosed observation deck provides 360-degree views, allowing visitors to take in the sprawling cityscape, iconic landmarks, and even the distant mountains on clear days. Whether during the day with the hustle and bustle of city life or in the evening as the city lights come to life, the Umeda Sky Building's viewing deck promises a captivating experience that showcases Osaka's vibrancy and beauty. One notable feature is the "Floating Garden Observatory," an open-air deck that provides an exhilarating experience of being suspended high above the city. The combination of modern architecture and the natural elements enhances the overall ambiance, making it a perfect spot for photography enthusiasts and those seeking a romantic setting. The observatory is well-maintained, with informative displays and helpful staff, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable visit. Whether you're a solo traveler looking for a peaceful retreat above the city or a group of friends eager to capture breathtaking views, the Umeda Sky Building's viewing deck is a top-notch destination that encapsulates the essence of Osaka's urban charm.

Recommend visiting at night time for the city light view. 360 degree horizon view of Osaka. We visited at sunset and the dark fell upon us quickly. If you want to engrave a lock you have to book a time slot ahead of time. If we were to redo it, would have dinner at one of the ground level garden facing restaurants before heading up.

Beautiful and expansive views of Osaka, the wait wasn't that bad for an early afternoon on the weekend though that line was much longer when I left. They even had a cute anime short of the building's construction and a meet-cute romance story. The architectural notes of the building's construction and the ethos of its designer were particularly moving and interesting

Absolutely stunning views of Osaka and loved the lift with glass tube so you can see the ascent. This is then followed by an escalator to the 360 viewing area, and then you can go up another level outside with clear views perfect for taking selfies with a loved one or friends.

Still one of my favourite places in Osaka. This place has great views, and especially great vibes. Great place to go with your other half, although there are quite a lot of families with kids too. The place has a cafe now that serves drinks and simple foods, but nothing too fancy. Do note if you are using the Osaka Pass, as some special days may be excluded from using the Osaka Pass.

Definitely worth a visit when in Osaka. Amazing views from the observation deck. Recommended to book tickets in advance on websites such as Klook. Long queue to head up to the reception area on the 35th floor but it moves fairly fast. Best to let the pictures speak for itself. Hope you have a great time if you decide to visit.

This was an interesting place to visit with a panoramic 360 view of Osaka. The escalator to the viewing deck was exciting as it was long and glass windows throughout. Good for photos especially on a clear day. Not recommended if weather not good.

The Umeda Sky Building is one of the best places to see the wide city of Osaka! It is quite the unique building with its interesting structure and design! It was fun going up the elevators and escalators, eventually reaching the rooftop view. You could see the breathtaking, lively city of Osaka perfectly!

This is a very good place to enjoy views & take pics of Osaka City. HINT Come at 4pm (for those using the m1 or 2 Day Passes) or by 5pm for normal ticket entry so that you get the a)daylight views, b)dusk views then c)night views with city lights from here.

The building has very beautiful architecture. Riding the glass lift and escalator at high altitude is not for everyone, but it's great to see. The café has a nice, quiet atmosphere with a beautiful view. The observation deck offers a beautiful panoramic view.

Amazing view from the Umeda Sky Building. The location is not accessible directly from the train station exit. You ought to walk approximately 10-15 mins to reach the building. We used google maps to lead us there. Our Osaka ePass package comes together with the art gallery opposite this building too. We enjoyed the gallery & amazing 4D animation experience! We visited during morning hours hence did not able to enjoy the night view, probably next time! ;)

Spectacularly beautiful building. I’m thoroughly in awe of what human can achieve at times. I was lucky enough to watch the sun setting on a clear blue sky over the beautiful city of Osaka at Umeda’s observation deck on one of the days that I was in the city. Impressive architecture of the building left me gaping in astonishment. Try to visit this place if you can.

I went to the art museum inside and to the obeservation deck. Very nice building, clean and many different things inside. The observation had inside and outside places, many people were there. Inside had cool decorations throughout. And outside had blue lights some of the time. If you want to see more pictures of Osaka and Japan you can check me out on Instagram @alaya_jay

We had the fortune to go to Umeda Sky Building on a very clear sunny day. The view is great, there can be a waiting line in front of the 2 elevators. After that it’s direct walk to the top. Very interesting building with a magnificint view of the city Osaka.

Wow, honestly I think I might have liked this out of all the observatories I visited in Japan, including Shibuya sky! The cafe was great and since apparently I picked a good time and day, I didn’t have to wait a long time and was allowed to show up anytime I wanted. The elevator lived up to the hype as well.

While not as tall and dramatic as the Tokyo Sky tree, I think that it is worth a visit. The scenery from such height changes the way you perceive life and people. Coming at night, the light of the city is very enjoyable. I was lucky enough to be up there when a random firework show was happening.

Going there gives you an amazing view of Osaka. It was very nice to also see the history behind the Umeda Sky Building. Inside is a 360 view of the city and there’s even a sky view, where you’ll get to stand outside and grasp the air. Going during the day is nice, but I recommend going at sundown or at night, the building lights up and you get to see Osaka’s nightlife. Very peaceful

This place is GREAT. It was ¥1500 each and there's a cafe (¥800 for a large beer), an indoor observatory spot (which is already pretty nice) and then an amazing outdoor sky roof with blacklights and UV reactive paint splattered floor and 360° views over Osaka. The escalators and lifts have clear walls so the whole experience is pretty excellent from start to finish.

  • 5/5 Denise G. 4 months ago on Google
Super pretty and a very nice experience. You get to take a long escalator up which is really cool, and then there is a gallery and then you can go up to the roof which is open air to enjoy the view! Very nice observatory, would recommend going at sunset time because it’s very pretty.

Such an amazing place to visit! Sightseeing from the tower is normal, how they could build this building is more interesting. The escalator in the sky is really awesome. To me the price of the ticket is valuable and worth. Once coming to Osaka, you must visit this one, just 10mins walk from Osaka Station.

  • 5/5 Huong N. 6 months ago on Google
Went here because we wanted to experience the sky escalators you see on social media. And have to admit it was pretty cool. But the views were definitely worth it! A full 360 view of the city. Great place to visit for views of Osaka. They have love locks you can put up but they must be preordered so make sure you jump on Klook to do this. The entry price is fair.

The place is really awesome. But even though it is huge, it is not possible to see it from the Osaka station. I was looking for this building using Google maps and following the sign, and it took me a lot of time to get there. There are some reparations woks on the street (for some years now) so it is not possible to follow the pat shown in the map, you have to go across a little passage on the street to get to the building (I followed a guy there because there were no more signs). Other than that, the building is really awesome.

It's a marvel of whiz-bang architecture! Quite a story, too! Terrific views and the escalators are sci-fi cinematic! Mighty cold up there at night. Black-lighted walkway was cool. They have a cafe, but the choc croffle thingy was stale and disappointing.

Walking past the Grand Front you get to walk to the Umeda Sky building and if you came across a tunnel along your way , you sure are on the right track. Once you get in , get to the third floor using the escalator and eventually it leads to a swarm of people arranged in supposedly 4 files. This would be for the entrance to the elevator ( entrance to the observatory before 4 PM is free ). We did buy our tickets online ( from Klook) which meant we needed to see the reception counter to get the tickets printed. Once we got the tickets we went past the ticket check and up the escalator into the tour area (Kuchu Tien) and a few flights of stairs from there into the skywalk area. The views were breathtaking and it should definitely be on your list to do. Some of the tourists were also putting up locks on the space available down in the skywalk area stamping their presence ( you get to buy the lock from the gallery shop before entering the ticket area towards the right hand side). Great experience which I definitely recommend!!

Easy to go up. No need for previous booking and no need for long que to buy tickets. The elevator picks several and is pretty fast so depending on the day and time you may face with various number of visitors. The view is nice especially at the time.of sunset and I liked it wellthe design and decoration inside is also pleasant and lightening is nicely done. You get something to drink and eat and of course it's expensive there but for a try should be ok. The main ticket is expensive but for one time visit should be ok something around 1500 yen I apdi

Breathtaking Views and Unique Architecture in Osaka. The Umeda Sky Building in Osaka is an architectural marvel that should not be missed when visiting the city. This iconic landmark offers an incredible experience from start to finish. The moment you step into the building, you're with a modern and sleek interior that sets the tone for what lies ahead. The highlight of the Umeda Sky Building is, without a doubt, the Floating Garden Observatory. As you ascend the escalators to the top, anticipation builds, and once you reach the observation deck, prepare to be amazed. The panoramic views of Osaka from the observatory are absolutely breathtaking, offering a stunning 360-degree vista of the cityscape. What makes this observation deck truly unique is its open-air design. There are no glass windows obstructing the view, allowing you to feel the fresh air and fully immerse yourself in the surroundings. It's an exhilarating experience, especially during sunset when the sky paints vibrant hues over Osaka. Aside from the observation deck, the Umeda Sky Building also houses various restaurants, cafes, and shops. This makes it a great place to grab a bite to eat or indulge in some retail therapy while enjoying the incredible atmosphere. The staff at the Umeda Sky Building are friendly and helpful, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable visit. The facilities, including the restrooms, are clean and well-maintained throughout the building. Located in the bustling Umeda district, the Umeda Sky Building is easily accessible, with several transportation options available nearby. It's a must-visit attraction in Osaka that offers a unique perspective of the city and leaves a lasting impression. Overall, the Umeda Sky Building is a must-see destination in Osaka. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this architectural gem promises an unforgettable experience with its breathtaking views, open-air observatory, and vibrant atmosphere.

I was there on a clear night. Absolutely fantastic 360⁰ views over Osaka, not glassed in from the upper Skywalk level, so better photos are possible. Proximity to river gives great view of that and nice contrast to views with. just tall buildings. Loved it!

Nice view but I think it doesn't reflect how beautiful of the city before sunset and to be there after sunset you have to pay for the ticket which is not included by the osaka amazing pass.

Went there on a gloomy day after heavy rain, no wait at all for the entrance, the escalator views were awesome, but the top view wasn't the best I have seen before, perhaps due to the weather too. For those who love to have the "love lock" on top of the tower, early preservation is needed. Overall I will say it's worth a visit if you do have extra time in Osaka. Suggested to go for a nearby shopping, then a tower top view, then can enjoy nice dinner nearby.

This marvellous piece of architecture is well worth a visit. It’s incredible in its scope, breadth and ideals. We visited at night time which is a good time. But if you got here in the late afternoon and saw both daytime and night time, that would be awesome. There is a cafe and a shop, and then above that is the open air sky garden. Which surprisingly hasn’t got any trees or plants, but has got 360° views of Osaka. Including watching Planes coming in to land at the airport.
