The shrine is part of Osaka castle, which is a good place to spend half a day strolling around and trying to imagine what life looked like once upon a time... It is a great place to visit with children. There are plenty of things to explore, places to rest and have food, small souvenir shops, as well as numerous green spaces to have a picnic

A quiet shrine on the Osaka castle grounds, right before the Osaka castle. They have hand-made Goshuin which looks pretty cool. Also picked up a couple of good luck charms from here.

Touristy and it felt more like a display for tourists than an actual important cultural artifact, but it is at Osaka castle so what do you expect I suppose.

On a beautiful Autumn day, you can absorb the history and beauty this place has to offer. A shrine in honour of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, you can feel the history in this most scenic of settings at Osaka Castle park.

A relaxing little place within the grounds of Osaka Castle. It is a nice, quiet place to take a break from the bustling crowds around the castle.

Small shrine to the south of the main keep of Osaka Castle. There isn't a whole lot here, but the simplicity of the place is beautiful. It would be easy to miss this place when visiting Osaka Castle, but it is worth a five minute detour to check it out

A nice pit stop on the way to Osaka Castle. Not too many tourists. Definitely old but lovely shrine even in the rain. Would definitely suggest everyone stop by real quick just to see the statues and buildings. Doesn't take long.

Great shrine and nicely located, just at the Osaka Castle. Kind monks will give you a goahuin too

Interesting shrine, almost goes unnoticed in the midst of the gardens, but well worth paying a quick visit. Even in a day with loads of turists around the shrine was quiet and we could take a few good pictures.shrine

A cool, fairly large shrine with a statue of the famous samurai Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Since it’s located on the grounds of Osaka castle, there’s practically no reason not to go if visiting there.

It wasn’t open when I went... there is a zen stone garden in the back, and you can walk around it.

My first visit to a shrine in Japan. It's nearby the Osaka castle. There isn't much to see here. Was wanting to get Omamori for blessing as well as a form of souvenir, but the description of the Omamori are all in Japanese, which I can't read. If I don't know or understand what it is for, I won't be getting it.

It's a nice shrine, but it looked a bit worn and less well kept compared to many other temples and shrines that we saw when visiting Japan.

Hidden gem in Osaka Castle Park. You won’t miss it if heading to Osaka Castle from southern gates. Free admission.

Great temple you can breath the culture on air.

Visited at night but it was well lit so we could still enjoy the shrine. Very close to Osaka Castle and the Sakura light festival so we covered all of this in one night. Apparently for shrines and temples in Japan you can get a shrine book which is stamped off at each place, wish I'd known this earlier! Toilets really near by as well as lots of vending machines, including ice cream ones.

Like many across Japan, it is an old and magnificent shrine that you'll come to appreciate on each visit. A place of worship for the locals, so do be mindful. I also think it's nice that they have a shrine right in front of the castle.
