Staying at the Taj was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, the breathtaking views of the Cochin harbour took my breath away. The resort’s blend of classic elegance and modern luxury was evident in every detail, from the beautifully appointed rooms to the impeccable service. The spa treatments were a highlight, offering the perfect blend of relaxation and rejuvenation. Dining at the resort was a delight, with a variety of cuisines that catered to every taste. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and memorable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a luxurious escape in Cochin while enjoying the backwaters.

This feels like a highly local boutique hotel. The lobby is reminiscent of the Kerala ancestral home (tharavad) replete with warm wooden pillars and carved wooden ceiling. Some of the rooms offer a great view. The hotel offers all its guests evening tea and snacks at 5pm at Dolphin's Point which overlooks the backwaters followed by a sunset cruise in a wooden 2-tiered boat with running commentary about the surrounding islands and sights...which was one of the highlights of this place for me. This is followed by the traditional lamp lighting ceremony where guests are made to light the lamp individually. Thereafter the hotel offers a peek into the local culture with a dance or music performance by local artists - making it a memorable stay for me....

Located at the Northern tip of Willingdon island, this a s beautiful property. The Boat restaurant offers great ambience, overlooking the backwaters. There is an open venue by the waterside which is a scenic place for hosting events. Banquet halls in the ground floor appeared to be small. Service is exceptional!

Absolutely gorgeous. The resort has that old world charm and superb views. The evening boat cruise is super fun and tells you a lot about the history of the area. Special mention to the bartender at the Mattancherry Bar, the cocktails were amazing. The hospitality was superb.

Awesome property. Cordiality is definitely not the Taj standard. Completely unlike a Taj when you deal with the managerial staff. The staff of the ground is good though. Food is good as well.

Located in one of the lake facing corner of Wellington Island, this is a peaceful destination if you want to recharge your soul and your body - provided your timing is right 😉. [You don't want to end up here when there is a mad wedding going on, for eg. 😜 ] This place looks so elegant and when you step into this environment, you feel like you have entered a palace. And you are not wrong, you are in for a royal treatment. Staff is real courteous, and the behaviour reflects all the goodness of Tata's expertise in hospitality. I had an opportunity to stay here and I have to say, I and my family had a wonderful time. Room was spacious and easily could accommodate all four of us. Rest of the common stuff like Wifi, fresh linen, furniture all top class. There's complementary tea served in the evening and you can always order on top of it. Breakfast is complimentary and it's a buffet and as I have heard from others, lives upto the reputation. My kids had a nice time with traditional food and the western varieties. Staff was very courteous and patient in explaining things to my kids. My lunch and dinner were included in my package. Lunch was a predetermined menu, but a rich and unlimited one indeed. My favourite one was the dinner buffet, the variety was amazing and I could just go on and on. There would be some cultural program everyday evening in the main room and you could get a glimpse of traditional forms of art and culture. There's a backwater boat journey in the evening as well. They took us around the Vembanad lake for a view of the sunset. After two days of stay, we checked out today. Overall we had a fantastic time.

Overall it's a outstanding experience. When you come from the west to a place like India, you expect some limitations in the service and amenities. However, I would have to say this is on par with some of the high-end hotels in the west, and definitely would recommend for those who are visiting Cochin to check this place out.

The hotel has a fantastic location as it’s restaurants, gardens and swimming pool are perched right at the tip of the island with an amazing ocean view. The staff is extremely courteous and the service is very good. Food is good too. The place is well maintained and the rooms are spacious and neat. The entire hotel is decorated with antique furniture and pieces that make the place warm and cozy. The bar is a highlight and great to sit back and relax with family. The hotel conducts a well organized sunset cruise for everyone who stays at the property everyday - the staff does a fantastic job on this tour.

Its is one of the most loved property in my list of Heritage Hotels. This property was built in 1935 for sailors. Staying in such a room with old wood work fives a different feeling. Food is amazing. Must try Rice boat restaurant if you love sea food. Chinese food of Pavilion was phenomenal. Ample of parking space. Great staff and special thanks to Ms Nandana to make our stay comfortable and pleasing.

The Taj Malabar Resort & Spa in Cochin is an excellent place to stay. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, the rooms are beautifully appointed and the food is absolutely amazing. Good place to stay with scenic view. Staff was extremely courteous and hospitable. We travelled with our toddler. They helped us with our toddler for preparing her meal . The ev charging point was installed but when we checked it was not ready for working. The restaurant view was awesome. They take the guest for a boat cruise. Good place to stay

4 star for a 5 star . Rooms are good . Food is only average . Service is excellent . TAJ Malabar requires modernisation of rooms but the present ones are elegant too. When it comes to the food , the enthusiasm vanishes and give way to a wayside hotel food . But the service at reception area or at door or at dinner place is excellent. The ambience is so nice that even after the visit the cool winter breeze go past your face with an emotion of calmness . Deep inside you get relieved of your tensions

Rice Boat at the Taj Malabar Resort & Spa, located by the picturesque backwaters of Cochin, is a must-visit destination for seafood lovers. The place offers a prime location and a splendid atmosphere, making it the perfect spot for a romantic anniversary celebration. My experience at the Rice Boat was nothing short of fantastic, from the specially prepared table to the delicious soup, starters, main course, and desserts. The highlight of the evening was the beautifully presented and delicious cake, which was a surprise ending to an already perfect meal. I would highly recommend the Rice Boat to anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy a delicious meal in a wonderful scenic setting." A special thanks goes to the Service team who did a Splendid job.

This is a request to kindly notify about the renovation works happening at Taj Malabar. Me and my family travelled 2:30 hours to have lunch at Taj but the resort was closed due to works. They said it will only be opened by January 2024.

One of our family member gifted us Taj coupons which we could use for stay and food. We stayed here for 3 days and those 4 days were the highlight of our trip. The rooms as you will expect were big and clean. The bathroom, as we requested had a bathtub. The staff was so nice. I had a ankle injury and was wearing ankle support, even the manager was kind to notice and offer help. The offer a cruise in the backwaters every evening after snacks and evening dance show by the local artist. The compound is beautiful, well maintained. We opted for a buffet which is Rs 1500 per person for lunch and dinner and I think Rs 750 for breakfast. The buffet had lot of vegetarian and non-vegetarian variety. They even have a separate Seafood Restaurant for seafood lovers. The day we were coming they even kept a small gift (box of spices with a letter) in our room, which made us feel special.

The hotel was really nice, comfy rooms, friendly staff and a fun bar. The ferry next to the hotel was super convenient for poking around town. Outside the hotel, I found the area quite underwhelming. Don't expect Hawaii, rather it is a pretty industrial shipping port with a tremendous amount of air and water pollution. We visited at the end of January and the AQI was consistently above 120

Stayed at the property for a couple of nights during our recent stay at Kochi. The hotel is located near the cochin port and offers some really good views of the port city. The property though not grand, offers all the amenities. The rooms very tiny but offered a great view of the port. We were lucky to catch some dolphins 🐬right outside our window. The food and buffet spread was really good. The service and hospitality was truly that of Taj standards. The staff was really courteous and never let us down with any demands. Two small pieces of recommendations One on the Kids room / play area - which was really small and Not in a good condition. Since we were travelling with a 4 year old kid we felt the need for the same. Second on the Buffet spread - While the spread and food was good, we felt that the menu was same on all days. The desserts always had cheese cake, payassam and same pastry. While the staff always offered something out of the menu when asked for, a change in the menu and spread is highly required, specifically when people take All meal plans.

The location of the place was absolutely enchanting to me. Despite being situated in the heart of the city, it had a distinct aura that set it apart from all the surrounding chaos and noise. The tranquility and serenity of the location were what drew me towards it. The ambiance of the place was so calming and peaceful that it made me forget all the hustle and bustle of the busy city life. The serenity of the environment made me feel as though I had been transported to another world, one that was free from all the stresses and worries of modern life. I found the location to be the perfect escape from the stresses of daily life, offering a peaceful retreat that helped me to recharge and rejuvenate. It was a unique place, a true oasis in the midst of the city that provided a welcome respite from the noise and congestion. Overall, the location of the place was nothing short of magical. It was a true gem in the middle of a bustling city, and I was grateful to have discovered it.

Celebrated my Dad’s birthday. Absolutely lovely experience. The dining was at a temporary tent outside the restaurant. Great coordination by staff especially Sojan who was friendly and helpful. The hotel is in renovation till next year so all services weren’t readily available. Otherwise great place to create memories!

Taj Malabar Resort & Spa, Cochin has a luxurious and stunning waterfront views. Well-appointed rooms, and a variety of dining options make it a top choice. The spa's treatments and the proximity to Cochin's attractions make it an ideal destination for a memorable stay.

We were very impressed by this Taj Hotel. It is the second Taj that we have stayed at after having stayed in Fishermans Cove in Chennai. They are doing extensive construction and remodeling so the main reception area was closed off. Despite that, the staff went out of the way to make our experience intimate and personal. The rooms are immaculate though very old school charm. Food in the main restaurant was outstanding. There was nightly entertainment which was live and very well done. The nightly teatime and lake cruise was quiet and restful.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Taj Malabar Resort & Spa in Kochi, and I must say, it was an absolutely enchanting experience! From the moment I stepped foot on Willingdon Island, I was captivated by the natural beauty that surrounds this resort. The lush greenery, the tranquil backwaters, and the stunning views of the Arabian Sea make it a tropical paradise that's truly unparalleled. The accommodations are nothing short of luxurious. My room was spacious, elegantly furnished, and offered breathtaking views of the serene waters. The attention to detail in the room's design and amenities was remarkable. It felt like a home away from home, only much more indulgent.

Stayed there for 3 days and the room was lovely. The staff were exceptionally helpful as full. Prices are high compared to other hotels in the area, especially in their à la carte menu. However, overall a wonderful stay and would visit again!

Place is good. We went for dinner buffet. As vegetarians, there were enough spread, but food was strictly average. I have had better food in 5 star restaurants.

Pros: Good location away from crowd and serene with good view from rooms. While the property isn't too big in terms of space (room included), there's a touch of heritage and sense of vintage to the building. Cons: Given that there's very little to spend time outside the room, they should atleast have an activity centre that stays "active". Missing out on something as basic as having a ping pong ball(tables and bats that are there are useless without it). Maybe people don't use it since it's almost outside the property near to the main gate. Given that it's a 5 star hotel, missing out on basics such as floor mat in the room/bathrooms, no cutlery (stirrer/spoons) along with in-room beverage are surprising. It's these finer attention to details that make others like Hyatt and Marriott stand out in this industry. Food was the most disappointing of the experience. I've seen better buffet spread (variety/dishes/taste) in 3 star hotels. It isn't that the food is bad, but for the money you pay- this isn't value for money at all. We were there during a busy long weekend and the it was quite crowded. The restaurant seat/space management by the staff was nothing less than disastrous. They were clueless and pretty much didn't care much about who's sitting where, who wants what etc. A crowded Indian Coffee House manages crowd better than this. Overall: 3 stars because the overall experience was good if I were to look at this as a 3 star hotel and VFM only if I had shelled out money for a 3 star hotel. Maybe it's time for Taj to buckle up and come out of complacency and take hospitality seriously. The brand value can only take you so far.

Stay was good. BUT very bad food. Worst Coconut chutney, Chammanthi and Sambar you will get in Kerala. Breakfast had variety of dishes, but most of the cooked foods were bad. Bath tub 😍

Had a very relaxing time at the resort for 4 days. The location and the ample size of the room is really good. One thing which was sub par was the food. Except for a few items on the menu like the non veg platter, other things were normally sweet. The buffet dinner had the same issue. Other than that the location and the resort is a great place to sit back and relax and enjoy the backwater. Would highly recommend this place for a relax retreat

Wonderful hotel. Terrific location. Can get busy during events which nowadays is quite a lot. Nevertheless, i love staying at this place. The rooms are great wity wonderful views of the harbour and lagoon. The staff are amazingly friendly. Always ready to help. One thing that was missing was the lack of facilities for drivers to freshen up and rest. Overall fantastic experience.

We’ve been vacationing in Kerala from US and this was one of the best places we stayed. The place is bit out of the way but once you’re inside the resort the service and the actual resort are par with any 5 star resort back in US. The bar had great cocktails and amazing bartenders.. the restaurant was great when it comes to food and service.. front desk crew was also great! I’ll be stopping by every time I’m back on Kerala.

Nice location with well maintained property. But disappointing hospitality, hotels don't seem to give any importance to this most important aspect, especially this being a resort and not a business hotel. Staff doesn't look fully passionate about their jobs. Highly overpriced food as well.

One of the Best TAJ waterfront resorts. Located away from the urban hustle. Stunning views of the Harbour and Lake. Heritage Rooms are class apart, with superior wooden flooring. Staff's are amazing and helpful. Housekeeping at the best, they provide premium quality linens. Swimming pool has an amazing infinity view facing the lake. Best place to spend quality time with family and friends.

Rooms are good, staff is well mannered. The hotel is well located and has good amenities. I had only one complaint the spread for buffet was not great. This being a 5 star hotel can improve the quality and add more variety in the buffet.

We took the 1 bedroom seaview room and the view was absolutely breathtaking. The room was comfortable and the little touches throughout were very nice. The only thing that we didn't quite like fully was the food. We felt it was bang average compared to some of the other delectable fare we had from other resorts within the same price range.

The overall experience was fine. The ambience was good. But their quality in terms of the food they serve was not satisfactory. Since they charge enough they could have improved their quality of food especially the seafood. That was not just average but too much below average

Great architecture early 1900's build. Staff was very nice and responsive. The pool and grounds are nice. It was built for mariners so it is on the port. We enjoy watching ships so it was not an issue for us. This is not a swim in the ocean area. Nice spa and has Ayurvedic.
