I
would
like
to
for
start
with
how
easy
it
is
to
get
into
contact
with
Dr.
Wiethoff.
Certain
plans
for
the
operation
could
have
already
been
done
while
being
abroad(I.e.
dates
for
x-ray,
clinical
examinations,
op
and
etc.).
When
I
arrived
in
Düsseldorf
I
got
an
X-ray
in
a
private
clinic
for
a
cheap
price
effortlessly
and
was
able
to
meet
my
surgeon
in
person.
He
has
a
calm
and
warm
demeanor,
he
studied
my
feet
diligently
and
was
able
to
fulfill
my
wishes
for
surgical
correction
while
adapting
to
what
my
anatomy
allowed.
I
have
an
incredibly
severe
form
of
hallux
valgus
on
both
feet,
so
severe
in
fact
that
some
other
toes
were
subluxated
through
the
deviation.
The
doctors
in
Estonia
told
me
the
only
option
would
be
a
joint
fusion
and
loss
of
mobility
which
would
forever
change
my
step.
I
was
incredibly
relieved
to
hear
from
Dr.
Wiethoff
that
such
therapy
was
too
extreme
in
my
case
and
that
there
was
still
hope
for
a
surgery
which
would
retain
my
toe
mobility.
My
other
toes
would
also
get
an
aesthetic
treatment,
so
that
the
whole
foot
would
not
only
function
well,
but
also
would
look
for
the
first
time
in
many
years
as
a
foot
should.
I
left
the
Praxis
relieved
and
impressed
by
my
doctor.
I
was
looking
forward
to
my
treatment
while
staying
in
Düsseldorf.
It
is
an
incredibly
beautiful
city
which
offers
a
lot
of
attractions,
restaurants,
events
and
galleries/museums.
It
goes
without
saying
that
my
stay
was
faster
than
I
thought.
On
the
day
of
the
operation
I
was
greeted
by
my
doctor,
friendly
personnel
and
a
witty
anaesthesiologist.
I
would
receive
a
light
general
anaesthetic
and
would
sleep
through
the
procedure.
The
personnel
was
very
professional,
gentle
and
tidy.
I
didn't
even
notice
it
and
the
operation
was
already
over,
my
foot
had
been
wrapped
up
and
was
fitted
with
an
orthopedic
shoe.
I
had
some
rest
in
the
Praxis
after
the
anaesthesia,
had
no
pain
and
was
able
then
to
leave
an
hour
later
to
my
hotel.
Before
that
I
received
pain
meds,
instructions
on
how
to
act
in
the
first
hours
after
the
operation
and
an
emergency
number
in
case
something
was
wrong
and
I
had
questions.
Thankfully
my
night
was
calm
and
painless,
though
I
was
still
groggy
after
the
procedure.
I
would
see
Dr.
Wiethoff
on
the
very
next
day
to
get
an
inspection
of
my
wound
and
further
instructions
for
physiotherapy,
medication
and
wound
treatment.
I
was
amazed
with
how
fast
I
was
able
to
walk
and
how
early
I
could
get
my
toes
to
move.
My
foot
looked
normal
for
the
very
first
time
in
over
20
years.
I
was
overjoyed
and
immediately
made
an
appointment
half
a
year
later
for
my
other
foot.
In
fact
my
other
foot
was
operated
a
month
ago
and
I'm
happy
to
say
that
I
can
walk
normally,
I
can
wear
normal
shoes
and
even
somewhat
high
heels.
I
am
happy
I
crossed
paths
with
such
an
enigmatic
surgeon
and
would
recommend
him
to
any
friend
with
similar
problems
as
I
had.
To
even
think
that
I
would
have
gotten
the
wrong
treatment
in
my
homeland
from
said
"professionals".
Looking
forward
to
visiting
you
next
time,
Dr
Wiethoff!
This
time
with
two
healthy
feet
:)
