Traditional brewery style German restaurant. Really good schnitzels, steaks and pork knuckles. Good service and beer selection.

Our first night in Düsseldorf we decided to try a German restaurant and we were pleased with the evening. The service was good even though we spoke no German. The food was also very good and tasty. If we were staying longer we would definitely return.

Weekday evening, very few guest here so no particular atmosphere. Half of the food was good (mix of mushrooms), the other half underwhelming (dumplings). Prices on the menu on their website not up to date, probably many rounds of price increases in the past months.

Friendly staff and delicious food. The beer menu is rather limited in variety, but offers all basic options (alt, Kölsch and Pilsener). It's a little unfortunate that you're sitting right next to a busy street outside. Otherwise we were happy all around.

Food was satisfying and the beer was refreshing! The food is a bit expensive for the quality, but still very affordable. The waiter that served us was very friendly :) A good place to take family, or to go for a relaxed meal.

Excellent food, big portions and a lot of different dishes to choose from. The guy serving could have been a bit friendlier though

Reserved a table for 8pm only to walk all the way there and no record of our booking. Got to sit down and began to order only to be told they weren’t serving food because it was too busy. Wish we had known this before trying to reserve a table, or even when we walked in to save all the fuss. Don’t bother trying to go here in case they waste your time like they did with us.

Fantastic atmosphere, excellent service. Food was very tasty and reasonably priced. Will be back asap

Best place to meet lovely people who will hopefully sorry stay around for a long, long time

My wife and I came here for our last night in Germany (honeymoon trip). I found the restaurant as it was close to our hotel. While we didn't have any bad meals....this meal was amazing! The service was even better. We spoke very, very little German and had zero problem. The woman who took care of us was honestly one of the kindest people who served us in Germany. I loved the helles beer, my wife enjoyed the grapefruit weissbier and the hefe-weizen. Each of our meals was fantastic(wife ate 25% of her spatzle chicken because it was such a large portion). I ate most of my pork (schweiner) schnitzel with peppersauce and loved it. We shared the warmes schokoladenkoclein (sp?) and that was amazing. 100% would we recommend and come back!

Grumpy service, fries were cold. Too much salt on the rest of the food.

Very nice staff, food is amazingly delicious. I had one of the best steaks ever.

Good selection of traditional German lunch dishes. Also ideal for really big groups, since they have really long tables.

Travelled from Ireland to Dusseldorf for a city break and we had food and drinks in Hirschchen on both nights. We were made feel very welcome by Denni who went out of his way to have a friendly chat with us and also made sure that we got to watch the rugby match.. (thanks Denni for arranging this 👍). The food is excellent and there is a great atmosphere in which to enjoy a few drinks. We would definitely recommend Hirschchen to anyone looking to relax and enjoy an evening out.

I travelled over to Dusseldorf from Ireland for 4 days, I have previously been over Many times before and this was my first time stumbling across this Gem of a place. I was so glad I decided to try this place out. Friendly atmosphere the second you walk in. The main man behind the bar couldn't of been nicer, Lovely man to talk to and really easy going laid back but professional approach at the same time. I ate here 3 out of the 4 nights and really enjoyed the food. To my surprise they had Guinness on tap and being Irish I had to try a pint. Trust me I have been to many pubs in Dusseldorf over the years and you will not get a better pint of Guinness. Overall I would highly recommend this place and will definitely be going back. Thank you to all the staff for making my trip to Dusseldorf even more enjoyable 😀
