After almost 6 weeks at the MediClin, I can visibly see the benefit on my health and achieving my goals. I truly appreciate the help of my doctors, nurses, and therapists. I have enjoyed my stay overall and recommend the place to others solely based on HR here. I start with positive points: most of the staff, specially the medical team, sisters/nurses/Pflege, and therapists simply get 5 out of 5 stars: they are humble, caring and patient as well as knowledgeable; they have been helpful and I thank them. The food in general is of much higher quality and diversity compared to the other hospitals in the area that I had been to — based on few months of stay in 3 of them ;-) During my stay at MediClin, I was served in my room for 4 weeks and everything was in order and as expected 🙏 but I had a mixed experience at the eating hall (Speisesaal): in general the Mensa is clean and sufficient measures are taken into account to address COVID situation. But little things are missing: e.g. only Jodsalt is available in the hall (I need non jod for a medical condition), I felt uncomfortable when asked a staff for it (so later I took a stash of normal salt from the tea kitchen in my ward 😉). Occasionally, the Mensa staff gave me the feeling that I am staying there as a tourist in a cheap hotel rather than a recovering patient (e.g. by giving certain instructions on where to leave my dishes); this being said, there are also nice and caring people in the Mensa. Unfortunately the building and the infrastructure is very much rundown. Firstly, I believe a top quality care team deserves a better quality physical environment and equipments that match the excellent service they provide to patient. Inside, the building is just ok. The bed linens are clean and are changed regularly (every week) but in between I could ask for new bed sheets. Otherwise, the rooms/toilets can be cleaned to higher standards (some places were never cleaned in 5 weeks, e.g. all those dead bees and flies on the window). The exteriors seems left to itself, it reminds me of most German universities, if u know what I mean When it comes to public areas, they are poorly designed, often not clean, and simply not sufficient specially with the COVID situation. Unlike the advertisement on the clinic website, there is no access from within the clinic to the forest. There is a path but it is blocked by some fences. This leaves patients with approximately 300 meters path to go up and down. Smoking tobacco is a big time issue here. Unfortunately there is not enough supervision and some smokers have no respect for other patients, as a result one can smell tobacco in nonsmoking areas, such as short path at the back of the building, sometimes at night inside the corridors, or even the smell coming out of the neighbour’s room. For a smoker who respects others, the smoking areas are not very nice, sometimes overcrowded and definitely not clean. For the smokers who think nonsmokers should thank them for making them second hand smokers at no cost, this place is a five star place. The clinic has a cafe too, which is kind of typical of those find in German hospitals. They sell ice which is nice, coffee (ok quality but maybe slightly overpriced), cakes and so on plus pizzas, snacks etc. when the weather permits, patients and visitors can sit outside too.

It was a very nice visit there. I was there for 6 weeks and I think I got a pretty good insight. So in summary: Very good specialist staff!!!!!!!☺️☺️ Pretty good training equipment. ☺️☺️ Of course, the building is no longer in the most modern condition. But that’s not really what REHA is about.
