Tired of being ripped off by the car rental company! I called them 15 times and still haven't sent my money back. The gentleman at the counter who made the booking simply collected €174 for a one-day extension, the same amount as the entire week had previously cost. Watch out! If I hadn't asked, it would have simply been lost. It was then reduced from €174 to €23 and you could have done it straight away! But now they have still debited the €174 and are not giving the money out. I've had to chase after things for days and I'm just being put off. Horrible experience not recommended. Better go to Enterprise much better!

Final bill incorrect. Be very carefull as you are charged for things that are not correct. My bill stated I returned car in monchengladbach eventhough I returned it in Dusseldorf and they gave me printed receipt! Excuse was that their system was working incorrectly. Also fueloption was not retrievable but at station at nurnberg airport it was confirmed by Avis that it was in the system. Staff is friendly but organization is not something I'm used to for an international company such as Avis

It was quite a mistake to pick the car in town. The lady was rather unprofessional and not helpful. We ended up waiting for the car as she provided inaccurate information. My advice, pick it from airport. Faster, hassle-free, in and out at no time.

Worst car rental location ever. READ AND PRINT their small print before going there. They refused to give me the booked car pretending a personal ID, which my wife had to bring costing us half a day work. Only afterwards I discovered that their T&Cs say a driving license was sufficient (I had that with me) and obviously the lady did that simply to annoy me. I complained and did not even receive a helpful reply, let alone a compensation. Never again

The phone number of Dusseldorf Stadtmitte office is not working. I waited for 10min then it says please leave a message we will call you and then it says sorry our mailbox is too full. Please fix the problem! Then I called to their central number in Germany. The lady on the phone was so rude to me! She was almost shouting on me when I was trying to ask couple of questions. And then she just hanged up the phone! The rudest service I ever met. She did it even though the phone call gets recorded. And of course I cancelled my reservation after that issue. I'm not gonna pay to a company with such a rude service like this!

Without telling me at pickup they gave me a more expensive car then I ordered. Then afterwards they refer to the fact that I signed for it in that lengthy contract. It is a scam. Update 11dec23. Sending me a reply as if you are willing to solve the problem since my Google review is visible to everyone...While in meantime "Mouhcine" is sending an e-mail that they did mention additional costs and that you are not wrong. Just admit you did not have my reserved car available and "gave" me an "upgrade" without mentioning you charged me costs. Never in 100s times I hired a car I was cheated into a higher price. Renters be aware.

Very good service, very efficient and friendly staff! Instantly switched to English when they noticed that I didn't speak good German. Would 100% recommend.

Rented a Mercedes-Benz C class. The staff was a bit weird to refuse the exact booked model of the car initially but later gave it. Always take the car full tank and give it back full tank else you can lose money. At the end the car was good, had a nice drive.

As much as I loved the experience till now, the latest one is just incredible. I came to the office on Oct 16th to make a reservation for Saturday, and was assured that the car will be available. I have asked whether they need my name or any other details to make the reservation and was told no, I can just come and everything will be good. So I came today as agreed, there's a different person at counter, he has no idea about any reservation and they have no cars. No apologies, no suggestion of options, no promise to figure out what happened. I am now not sure if even booking via internet would have been a more reliable approach as that one can be cancelled anytime as well.

Excellent customer service from the individual who helped me. Car was immaculate and performed well. Location was convenient and easy to access, even coming from the suburbs of Dusseldorf. I will absolutely rent from Avis again, specifically this location.

Unavailable by phone since this morning... Tried to call again and again for an hour. Vain. The voice mailbox is full and will probably not be emptied. Or you end up in the international area, which cannot help. There is no information on the website regarding return location and key drop-off outside opening hours. I have taken the car almost 4 times from this place and I have already booked the car for the coming weeks from the same place. Very customer friendly group of people (English speaking which has helped me) and would definitely recommend this place.

Frendly helpful service no problems, only criticism was not well sign posted how to get there from airport terminal, easy once you know but not if it's the first time at the airport.

After being 2 years with sixt, I changed to avis mostly because of better value for money. Here in Düsseldorf, I find the staff particularly friendly and helpful. They have a big garage just around the corner and everything goes smoothly and convenient.

Unfortunately, a rip-off. For some inexplicable reason, too much was charged. Called there a few days later and explained the situation. They stated that a mistake had apparently been made and that they would like to take care of it immediately and refund the difference. This has still not happened after 4 months.

I made resrvation, came to the office, but it is closed! Working time till 17, I came at 16:15! Nobody in the office! Nobody notify me! Waiting time to get support by phone is 30 minutes! I waited until 17 and left w/o a car. Unfortunately, I can't choose zero stars for no service...

Employees at the rental counter and in the service area were very friendly, very helpful and courteous. The vehicle was very clean, in very good technical condition and extremely reasonably priced - compared to the competition. Lovely again.
