Went for early evening drinks with a friend and wanted not so crowded place with good ambience. It was exactly the same for our linking. The music was 20 years old, menas not so old :) Staff were very friendly and helpful and too our surprise we were in happy hours(until 8.30 pm on Saturday) so got our complimentary free drinks as well.

Good place for enjoy the evening with music and booze hand. Food are expensive and alcohol too. Food quality and taste is quite good. Many days some band perform there so you can enjoy the evening. Ambiance of the bar is fantastic. Overall place is good. Post covid they are keeping the place hygienic. Use of sanitizer for hand wash and disinfect the table on your arrival.

They have live performances also generally starts around 9:30 pm. They have nice collection of alcohol.. They need to improve on the quality of menu cards cause the writings are next to impossible to understand thanks to the dim lightings.. They can accommodate at max 40 people and the smoking zone is very small.. Restrooms are outside of the pub.. Food quality is good but very much overpriced. Happy hour timing is from 5 to 8:30 pm. Not a pleasant experience on 25th Dec. 2021. After taking the cover charge of 1500 per person on ordinary cheap liquor package, there were no one to attend at the bar. Only a lady and a man at the bar and unable to address the requirement. The man was stuck with the billing system and the lady was unable to hear the customers. Please avoid this place as they are not equipped to handle a crowd. There are many places around which will serve you way better. Sad to know that this is the standard of The Park outlet these days!

Nice ambiance. A bit like an old school. Nice vibe. When the evening turns into night slowly, the music gets louder and louder that you can't even listen to the person sitting beside you. Otherwise it's recommend. It is inside the The Park. Got some cheap Bira beer in an happy hour. The service is also good. Crowd is nice too.

Awesome ambience, good food and the live music performances are too good. The pub does not have much space, recommend visiting on a not so crowded day.

It's a functional bar of sorts, you can say. There's very limited seating, probably due to the price tag for each item on the menu. However, the items served are of excellent quality. I will give them that. Add to that the live performances, it just makes the ambience that much better. The interiors are all reminiscent of a classic bar and attracts a very niche crowd. The staff needs to keep an eye on their customers since I had to literally leave my table and find the waiters more than a couple of times to either order for something or ask for something. They literally disappeared after the first order and never came back. Other than that it was a good experience.

I used to go to Someplace Else fairly regularly about 10 years back. The open mic nights were THE place in the city for young musicians to come and showcase their talents. And at that time, SE provided that space and ambience. It was also good for going to check out gigs from time to time. So, it was disappointing to go this time and find the place quite dead. Me and a couple of friends went about a week back. A music group was supposed to start their performance in a few hours but the vibe in the late evening was dull. The set being played by the DJ, depressing. It seemed that SE had stayed stuck in time, not growing musically. On top of that, the venue was not clean enough. Three tables had water or alcohol spread across the floor and we had to point it out a few times for it to be finally cleared. Service was slow even though the venue was nearly empty. Quite disappointed overall this time and hope that they get back to a good state

This is the place where you should go if you really need to relax after a hard day's work. One of the upscale watering holes at Kolkata with live music, great drinks and delicious food from the kitchens of The Park.

Great vibe for the people who prefer rock music genre, great staff there, some awesome cocktails and spirits. The guy Rahul is a gem, asks for your preference everytime and crafts the drink beautifully.

Pathetic. They wrote "no one will be served alcohol at the age less than 21" ..... but no where it is written that they will not allow to enter anyone less than 21 years of age. I demanded to see the manager, but the manager is too arrogant to listen to my feedback. My only feedback was they must explain the customers clearly at the entrance about the practical rules. Otherwise this is a pain to the customers like me with grown up kids. But he refused to listen and shown me a great attitude when I see the place is completely empty on a day of IPL final. This place may be great with the live performances on a right day but the attitude sucks for next gen customers.

The place is run by money thirsty bribers. They come and introduce themselves prior to key-events as if they are welcoming his majesty only to later run away and send their 3rd class waiters to fight like invadering flees. And worst of all - they misbehave the most with the guests of the artists and performers. One beer costs 800 for their misbehaving service. Also snacks take about 45-60mins to arrive and then they’ll be cold and wet. They’ll force you to pay for things you never ordered and they’ll call it as - “You cancelled this but we had already made it”. Worst of all - you enter 1hr prior to happy hours, they’ll make you wait for 2hrs to serve you your alcohol orders and ensure you pay up 5 times the actual MRP (forget happy hour pricing). They have become over popular owing to their timelessness but they have started feeling they are insurmountable. So if you want to enjoy some music and waste liquid cash, black money and other stuff please go. But if you want to enjoy quality time, good service, good music and a feel of nostalgia — Calcutta has literally, some place else and not someplaceelse.

Best pub in the city. And also I like the atmosphere and live music shows. Having beer in front of counter along with live music is just hot knife on top of butter. It's not someplace else, this the place. Must visit and try the park special pizza and wing fry.

I always look for one bar in each city which is made of pure vibes, Someplace Else is the ine for Kolkata. Great selection of spirits, good beer and fantastic music. Will be back next time I'm in town.

As the rating suggests.. it’s an amazing place for retro music and old vibe but service on food is very slow and drinks are a bit overpriced. Worth visiting though.. especially during libe music time

They swindled us. One campari and soda and the other was gin and tonic. Total bill was ₹3300. Campari was 1900 and soda was 250. I'm looking at their menu and drinks are nowhere that expensive. I'm glad I didn't order more. On the positive side, music was good.

Very disappointed for not being allowed to get a place inside. People came late and got a place however we waited inside for an hour and expecting that someone would have called and give us a place to seat. When I asked multiple times, they simply told us to stand and manage until someone vacated. Management is so pathetic here, they won't listen and give false commitment once u have paid 2000 RS for entry fee. I made a mistake choosing this place by seeing positive reviews which are all fake and internal, and eventually end up wasting an hour inside. Shame on you guys..Wouldn't send my worst enemy here.

Best place in town feels underground 🔥

The place was fairly easy to locate and navigation was accurate. We went earlier than usual busy hours, so the place was less crowded. The service was decent. The place is dimly lit, and matches the expected ambience. Usually live music is available here, but I guess due to COVID it wasn’t available. The place is worth the visit if you are interested in places with similar features.

It's normally a very nice place to watch some awesome bands play and perform live. Do check beforehand who will be playing and normally always expect a 30-40 minutes delay from the time they advertise. The drinks are quite expensive. So if you are here only for the pub experience, it will cost you. But if you are here for live performance, the ambience doesn't disappoint.

One of my favourite place in the city around , I'm In love with the ambience, lights, decor, the people who served the meals , makes the cocktails, but one thing the service of the meal could be better, I mean after ordering I have to wait more than 45 mins, that timing could have been better , but over all I love this place,

Liked the setup. But the songs which were performed are from some 70’s and 80’s. That crowd would obviously enjoy. I hated it.

Had a horrible experience. Ordered drinks and food. Food took more than an hour and a half to come and waiters attitude was as if they are doing favor by providing us food. They were non cooperative. Will never go here again.

It seems this place is just surviving on old Glory.. The place has laid back service, the food is below average. The menu is overpriced. It's a big 'NO' for anyone who is looking for a good place to chill in the evening. My recommendation would be effingut which is just 400 mts. Away.. it is much better place in terms of ambience, food and service.

Was My favourite bar for weekend hangout. I loved their cocktails-Jam Jam, White Lady, Irish Coffee and foods. My favourite ice cream was their 'Honeymoon Boat' with 3 different scoops on a boat shape bowl 😍💖🥰👌.But after they have started Live Bands I visited once. Bar tender has changed and so the old taste is not there. But young couples/people love it.

Same sitting n decor for years, quite a dark place. Two little, literally little girls at your service, poor girls don't know anything correct on availability. If you want to spend quality time in a pub then Someplace Else is good. Not too crowded like other places. Price is ok not too high or too low. Also live performances will give you immense pleasure. Staffs are very well behaved. And the decoration and ambience is very good.

The Park Hotel’s legendary pub is dubbed as the Mecca of live music in the city – since its inception in 1994, some of the country’s best known bands such as Parikrama and Indian Ocean have performed here. People come here to listen to live music and drink. The pocket-conscious do the drinking at Oly Pub next door, and hop over to Someplace Else for the music. The interiors done with wooden panels are reminiscent of typical English pubs. The food menu is short but crisp, largely comprising quick bites such as mini parmesan stuffed kulchas and cheese toasties served with a chilli garlic dip, to go with the beer and cocktails. Smokers need not miss out on the action inside, there is a smoking room behind the bar.

Nice ambience and music, but area wise it's not really big. Chic crowd and live performance is the USP of this place. Cost is quite on the higher side as it's a part of a 4-star property.

Small place yet cozy. It has a nice smoking area. The downside is that the music can get loud sometimes and the lighting may not be for everyone. But definitely recommended for young people and those looking for a good balance between atmosphere, food, drinks, and cost. Would not recommend for really large groups though. Try going on live music nights for a treat
