As a backpacking traveler the price for a bed in a dorm was quite tempting, however it was a big mistake to stay at Bubble Beds. I really don't recommend staying there. When I arrived in the morning with my partner the manager allowed us to hang out and refresh ourselves in the common area which was very nice, later on we were even allowed to check-in a bit earlier than 1 pm. Quite quickly, we found out about the poor hygiene of the hostel and even BED BUGS which also explained the weird smell in the dorm (chemicals). After confronting the manager, he admitted that he knew about the problem. So with that in mind he still gave us the beds and even hid having used harmful chemicals just shortly before. That behaviour is not justifiable and more than unprofessional. He was only willing to refund one of two nights after a long argument. I moved out right away and still found bed bugs in my backpack later on!

🚫🚫🆘🆘🆘 I went there single female I was there for 5 nights 6 days At night 3 am that person who is the cleaner of that place came into my room fully drunk and tried to molest me. He was pulling my blanket and touching in my hand.. and then I went out from room and that person was still outside I told to owner but no step had been taken I left the hostel next day morning * girls staying out on roof till 4 am and room is unlocked because they are having weed and alcohol whole night * This hostel is open for 1/2 hour or 1 night stand they are having a secret room for that * Breakfast is daily same 2 piece bread and butter or jam if you ask for 1 piece more bread then they are going to charge money for that *

My worst hostel experience in India – the place is in terrible condition and staff rude. Don’t be fooled by any positive reviews. Do me and yourself a favor and do not stay here. I booked this place with friends this July, but arrived a day early. The vibe was immediately off. Dorms are crammed full of beds with barely any space to turn around. The AC is leaking down the walls, kitchen unusable and sinks randomly not working. I can second my fellow reviewer’s statement that the “mold has mold”. The breakfast consisted of a pot of plant butter and jam each and one knife to share with everyone. I told my friends about this and they asked to see the rooms before checking in when they arrived. The owner refused and started a full-on fight about the request. We left to stay at another hostel and had a much better experience.

19/01/2024: Overall a good hostel/dormitory to stay in kolkata. Travelling alone or in a group, you will be exposed to people from different parts of india. By default Morning breakfast is complimentary, FREE drinking water but you have to carry your own bottle. Better connectivity by bus, tram, metro and even big basket is behind the bubble beds. You will have access to the kitchen with limited restrictions on hostel items. There are a couple of bath rooms and rest rooms on the terrace where anyone can use them. Kind ADVICE for booking beds in rooms : 2A (9Beds) & 2B (6Beds) have access to only SINGLE bathroom. Good is not enough, it needs to improve to be better.....

My stay at bubble beds was for 24 hr alongwith my female friend in last week . Earlier we were not so sure to stay here but I thought let's try it. My stay in bubble beds- Location : Best connectivity for taxi,ola/uber, local bus and metro. The person who is at reception and manage everything there, he is very nice , helpful nature and good in communication . Female dormatory -4 beds , room was small but it's ok, it was clean and I liked that mini tubelights for evry bed. Common washroom - very clean Common area's ambience is awesome. We had complimentary breakfast - bread butter ,jam and chai ...hence this place is safe for girls and also budget friendly...

Awful. Dirty and dilapidated. This hostel is in the middle of two abandoned build sites filled with beggars. It is so filthy its mould has mould. And the showers are what I would call slum chic. It has rooms built into a converted roof shed where they get dangerously hot. And water is turned off for much of the day. The front desk was unhelpful, and sullen. My room had old rice in a bare concrete sink that didn't drain, and barely enough room to get into the bed. This isn't a "you get what you pay for" situation either, this place is not cheap. Spotless European hostels with decent facilities cost the same as this place. It is next to a metro in an interesting part of town though Edit: Great customer service, look at how seriously they take bad reviews!

Good experience, some of the things can be changed like the washroom can be better, and the kitchen appliances can be fixed, but overall it was good. The service was great. Good place to chill and vibe and great for a few days stay. Budget friendly as well.

Location of the hostel is one of the best thing to select this hostel during visit. The staff was nice and help when asked. They give bread and butter/ jam in breakfast which is complimentary. Rooms were too small and no one come for cleaning.

I have been coming here since 2022, and have stayed multiple times here. Most backpackers' hostels do not bother about cleanliness, but BB Kolkata is maintained very well. The male dormitory on the ground floor is perfect for the price being charged, and each bed comes with its own reading light and charging points for electronics. The triple-bedded room is also very clean. The bathrooms are clean and hygienic. I also love that the dining area is on the terrace, with it being partly open. The whole property is very safe. And the location is perfect (just next door to Kalighat Metro station, and opposite Bachan Dhaba). Keep it up!

This is one of the best hostels of kolkata especially for the backpackers and the foreigners. The Managers named Suvojit is so polite and helpful. So it was a value for money accommodation to me.. Thank you Bubble Beds and team to give me a comfortable time.

Hey, Bubble Beds , This location is great for extended stays of three to four days, and even those with poor navigational skills, like myself, can easily find it. The friendly attitude of the receptionist (sorry, I don't know his name 😔) is also commendable. This property is one of a few hostels in Kolkata. The property is located approx. 600mtr. from Kalighat metro station and around 15 KM from Howrah and Sealdah railway station. I stayed there on 2022 New year eve and 2021 Christmas Eve. I used 9 beds dorm on 25th Dec and 6 beds dorm on 31st Dec. The 6 bed dorm is quite luxurious that rest of other rooms. 9 bed dorm is very packed tightly with beds and there is also no proper ventilation. In 6 bed dorm there is attached balcony and bathroom but in 9 bed dorm there is no balcony and bathroom (You have to use common bathroom). According to my contention, here are various cons and pros: Cons: 1. 9 Bed dorm is good as other rooms in hostel, only choose when ur tight on budget. Pros: 1. Very friendly Hindi and Bangla speaking staff. 2. Breakfast is complementary here. 3. Very easy to access via public transport (Only say Kalighat metro you will reach here easily.) 4. Nice common area. 5. Kitchen area with proper utensils and cooking unit is there. 6. Lots of opinions for food near by. Try Bachan dhaba for cheap north Indian and Chinese food and must try Rabri of shop which is located very near to it. 7. Staff there is very friendly and can communicate in english, hindi, bangla.

Very budget-friendly, worth the price. Right next to Kalighat metro station (underground subway), so easy connectivity to the rest of the city. The only big problem was the lack of enough bathrooms. The 6-bed dorm room is inside the 9-bed dorm, so upto 15 people could be forced to share one bathroom. But staff behavior was very good. Shout out to front desk guys Sandeep and Subhajit - keep it up.

The location is great, the place is great and the people are the life of this place. However, I can not give this place more than one star as there are bed bugs and honestly it is completely unacceptable to sleep in beds with bed bugs on them. After bringing this issue up with the manager a pest control was done but the bed still has bed bugs and I still can’t sleep. Hence is the reason I’m writing this review at 5:30am. I cannot sleep peacefully and that is unacceptable in a bed and breakfast. They need to maintain hygiene better and make sure they don’t have bedbugs as that is a very serious issue.

Stay was nice. Staff was helpful. But AC is not 24 hours. You will get AC from 7:30 pm to 9 am. The hostel lacks maintainanace and rooms and toilets are not cleaned daily. We stayed 2 days and floor wasn't cleaned or moped during our stay. Rooms are too congested to move around. Specially the room we stayed in 6 bed mixed dormitory. The outside sitting area is okay. For the price we are paying for a bunk, we expect better service. Hostel should take proper care of maintanance. Otherwise the hostel is located nearby Kalighat metro, which is a plus to move around the city via Metro.

It's a hostel for passing by passengers and for students giving exams. Have minimum accommodation services as needed. Overall provides a good package according to the price. If breakfast time would have been half an hour earlier, it would be helpful. Otherwise everything is good.

You get what you pay for. No complaints! After a thorough search online, finally decided to stay over at this hostel, 'Bubble Beds'. For a solo traveller like me it's the perfect place. Staff is cooperative, friendly and welcoming. Air-conditioned room is clean and spacious enough. Bed comfort is ok, if not the best. Toilet/Shower/Kitchen is clean. And Ofc, laundry service is provided. While for relaxing or socializing, one could head over to the terrace and chill or just sit near the reception area near the entrance. The breakfast provided is decent enough. So. It's kinda located in South Kolkata, What's located nearby? Pretty much everything. The Kalighat Metro Station is a few steps away. While shops, stores and restaurants, etc are conveniently located all over the place. The locality is safe and clean. You can travel to and fro from this location with ease. Other public transportation is easily available. Conclusion - No second thoughts. Any regrets? Nope. Decision? Whatever suits you.

24 Feb 2023 Had the WORST EXPERIENCE WITH BUBBLE BEDS. I filtered Parking Facility the moment i started searching for a stay in Kolkata and this hostel came up in the list. It was our first time in Kolkata and we rode almost 400 km, were tired and reached the hostel at night. I walked smiling at the man in the reception, the moment he saw us with our 3 bikes he was very very rude towards us. As it was our first time in Kolkata we didn't know about the parking rules in Kolkata and we understand. But HIS BEHAVIOUR WAS VERY TERRIBLE and he DENIED US CHECK-IN. We tried to find an alternative parking facility but he wanted us to find some other room at the middle of the night. AND OUR BOOKING AMOUNT FOR THE DAY WAS NOT GIVEN BACK. It is not about the parking or the denied check-in, it is for the UNCONCERNED UNRELIABLE SERVICE of the host towards the customers that we give poor rating. Better FIND SOME OTHER HELPFUL OR POLITE HOSTELS OR HOTELS if staff behaviour is important for you or else when you need help or something important at a crucial time, you wont find it in Bubble Beds. One of the best place for stay if you're a traveller especially for solo travellers .If you're looking for a luxurious stay this is not the place. But if you're in Kolkata by yourself or with friends to explore Kolkata this is a perfect place especially when it is a walkable distance from Kalighat metro station . Other than finding some leaches in the bathroom our stay was comfortable .

Host has a very measure behaviour and helpful. Well maintained cheap stay for travellers. As cons I will only mention one thing specifically that they dont provide lock at the lockers.

Good accommodation, multi storeyed building. Good food, has a small terrace to spend some time alone in the city life.

As the name says,it's a backpackers' hostel.so staying one or two nights is perfectly ok.its a budget friendly accommodation for those who are traveling alone or with a few friends. manager is customer friendly.wonderful common area is available on the rooftop to relax a bit. but you will have to adjust a little bit to use the bathroom as you are sharing it with almost ten people.or you may use the bathroom on the rooftop.

We stayed there (5 travellers) for a day time. He charged INR 475 per bed. The room was not at all clean and smells like anything, even the railway bunker beds will provide good service. Not at all recommended. This front desk guy ( specs) was showing more attitude since we didn’t speak bangla / Hindi. Bathrooms are the worst part here. Common area was good. Breakfast is 2 slice bed, one cup of coffee. But it’s very near to Metro. Rooms are like 10*10 . He charged additional ₹120 since we asked same room for all of us. Review sucks atlast. Based on reviews and one of the YouTubers ( Tranitbites) recommendations we suggest this. But it turns worst

Cozy and budget friendly accommodation. Prime location in Central kolkata situated in 1 min walkable distance near kali ghat metro. Staffs are very friendly specially the hotel manager sandipan, He is a soft spoken guy and very helpful and polite. I'll suggest bubble beds to all my friends

The place is amazing, owing to the well managed rooms, services and support, besides the fact that it is just a stone's throw to the nearest metro station.My stay is such that whenever I wanna come back to Kolkata, this place is where I am gonna stay. Host is very supportive, and caring.😊

I have booked the room for a stay and i have paid the advance payment on the same day i received a system generated mail and messages..once i reach the destination they denied the stay and giving stupid reasons.. The receptionist doesn't know English and also to handle the costumer,he was rude to us. One i asked for the payment back,he moved out and asked us to contact the owner.. Why do you have such a person in the reception.. Even the owner of the bubble Beds was not responding for the message..worst place, please avoid such a stay, don't encourage these kind of people to do the hospitality.. Apps like @booking.com and @hostels worlds has to look after these kind of issues..

I Stayed 2 nights with my Friend , It's was awesome and cool 😎 it's easily accessible and Perfect location. Staff are very good and Very helpful, Sometimes he became our guide for Kolkata,As we are new to the City they guided us very well about the places and Food etc . Well maintained Places, Bathrooms and Bed are very Clean, Kitchen, Dining room and Living Room are more plus point of place it's feel like our home 🏠 Breakfast was Good 👍 I Recommend this place for Stay and you will get new friends also 🙂

The place is good enough. The staff is very friendly, the common area is amazing. One can checkout and still access the facilities of the common area till 9PM. The only issue was that the bed wasn't clean, the blanket was dirty and dusty. Other than that, it was good.

I would strongly suggest you to not stay at this pathetic place. Despite the manager knowing that the whole place is infested by bed bugs, he didn't inform us prior to check-in. Just to save a couple of bucks, you will end up spending more. I had to vacate the place in couple of hours since my whole luggage and clothes was infested by bugs. They did not even refund the amount and I had to book another stay. Additionally, the place has no facilities and is very dirty. Strongly urge you not to stay at this place. Thank you.

Bubble Beds is my favourite backpackers hostel in India. Location is best, near Kalighat metro station. Staffs are very polite, just like friends. Great facilities. It feels like my home ! All coming to Kolkata must experience Bubble Beds.

My one day's stay was good. Bathroom was very clean. The receptionist has a warm behaviour.. I recommend this place for a one or two day job around the location. The room, however, was damp.. it hardly gets any natural light and air. Thus it smelled like chemicals.

A really nice backpackers hostel, Centrally located too, very close to Kalighat metro station. Very friendly staff and good clean facilities. There's a really good common area too at the terrace. My second time staying here and quite happy with the choice.

What a beautiful place it is! Loved the hospitality and service. We went in a group of 29 and the entire staff was at our service. We enjoyed every night and it was probably our best vacation. Even after checking out we were allowed to keep our luggages and even freshen up later that evening before we left. I recommend this place highly to solo travellers, group people and even couples.

In Kolkata, Bubble beds is really a wonderful stay for backpackers. I've found this hostel very comfortable, friendly and cheap to stay for a long time and for a short period of time as well. There are several kinds of room for instance: 9 beds mixed dorm, 4 beds female dorm etc. So you can choose according to your own comfort. Another important thing about this hostel is they provide the complimentary breakfast, which is really amazing for a backpacker, of course. Besides the host of this property was such a good hearted and considerate person. Cleanliness of this place is overall good. .

It was a steel deal! Best place for budget stay in Kolkata. And no i did not had any bedbugs issue. I don’t know maybe there have been an issue in past but I did not had this. I stayed in Room 2A. Best part, breakfast included! It’s the most important meal for me, can’t fire up my brain unless I get to eat anything 😋

We stayed in this hostel for 2 night in a private room, but to be honest the room was too small, there was literally just space for the bed and that's it, no space for our luggage we couldn't move inside the room. Good things about this place is that has metro station at just 100mt, and the guy at the reception was nice and helpful. If you come here just don't get a private room book a bed in dormitory instead will be better.
