A great place if you want to get pure oxygen and a pin drop scilence environment . No of persons which can visit at a time is 2-3. Transportation- bicycle. Its is just 3 to 4 kms from the main city and i give you my word you will not feel like this is a part of kolkata. You also get language option of English and hindi.Overall it was an excellent experience 👍👍 ....

Shirish has named many different trails in the Kolkata Wetlands (Neem Trail, Rice Trail, Dog Barking Trail, Green Wall Trail etc). Now, he should probably consider renaming himself as the "GPS of Kolkata Wetlands". Not only does he know his way around the trails that google can't seem to capture where we lose signal in the interiors; but he is fluid enough to restructure his conversation according to his clients' preference; which makes one lose track of time! He also slows himself down when one may not be able to keep up with his pace/fitness level, without us even realizing that he is making an adjustment for us. He is also extremely punctual, and resourceful (you could hire a cycle if you don't have one), and patient (if you happen to stop over multiple times while trying to maneuver along the bumpy muddy paths in the wetlands). And if you get lucky, you may get free knowledge on bitcoins, asanas, pranayama, and intermittent fasting that can revolutionize your health and perspective on life. I had a great 5.5 km Hike a week ago and have gone on multiple rides with him to discover amazing hinterlands of my city, which I had NO clue existed, till the onset of pandemic propelled me to take up cycling.

Fantastic experience of Kolkata wetlands on a bicycle with a great knowledgeable host ! The wetlands ride was awesome. I recommend going to see the beautiful sunrise (morning) or sunset (afternoon slot) on the wetlands. This was a unique experience in Kolkata for me, which no other tour operator can show you. Thanks for organizing these trips, and showing the hidden side of beautiful Kolkata to people.

Absolutely wonderful. Shirishji is a stellar cycling guide, often checking to be sure you’re all right, need a stop, shorten or extend the ride, etc. Note: this bike tour is for confident, at least somewhat skilled cyclists. There’s some negotiating Kolkata traffic, slippery wetlands paths and such. But it’s a flat, not strenuous ride. If you’re up to experience the wild side of Kolkata, definitely go for it. Highly recommended.

I did the wetlands walking tour with Shirish and it was a great experience. Shirish is very knowledgeable about these wetlands explains everything in detail and personally had a great time walking and talking with him. I would encourage anyone visiting Kolkata to do this tour with Shirish as these wetlands are so beautiful and it should definitely be explored and experienced.

Great hospitality by Mr. Shirish. I met him two years ago in Sandakphu trek and from then onwards always wanted to experience the beautiful Kolkata wetlands on cycle he talked about. Finally managed to do this today and it was just wonderful to do this through the scenic trail routes. Will come back for more for sure.

What an amazing experience! One cant imagine that such a place exists in the heart of Kolkata. Its a must do for nature lovers. And those who are not, this might still convert you. I loved the fact that the tour is customizable- depends on how long, how tough and what you want to do. A thumbs up and five stars!

We barely knew anything about the Wetlands before our walking tour with Mr. Poddar. Despite being a local, I always assumed that this area wasn't really for nature lovers. It was for fishermen and farmers. Happily we found his website and decided to book an early morning guided walk this winter. Mr. Poddar is very knowledgeable about the area and has extensive experience conducting these tours. He explained the ecosystem of the wetlands in a way we could understand, and cheerfully answered all our questions. He thoughtfully carried tea and home-made biscuits for us (which were delicious!) and ensured that the entire 2 hour walk was lovely and memorable. He also conducts cycling tours of the area, and that's something I want to do soon.

With Shirish we took a bike tour through the Wetlands on good bikes. A quiet oasis in the east of the city. Shirish knew a lot about the special ecosystem, the communities and the fishing. He is a nice person to travel with. Recommended!
