😐 Nandan is a cultural and flim center sponsored by govt I think. So basically it's a theater with food outlets around it. The food you would find here would most like be light snacks. This is also user as a picnic spot and hang out area. It's a cool place to be around for hanging out but not so much... People often mention good, movie, hall, cinema, Kolkata, Bengali, movies, cultural, Nandan, film,

Nandan is a cultural hub of Kolkata. If you want to watch a Bengali movie and want to have a good theatre experience then it is the place for you. The tickets are extremely affordable and it is clean and a lot of place to hang around near the movie hall. There are food stalls around and a lovely water body surrounds the place.

Authentic place to visit. It is a government-sponsored film and cultural centre in Kolkata. The primary aim of the cultural hub is to encourage and facilitate cinematic awareness in society. It includes a few comparatively large screens housed in an impressively architectured building. The complex, besides being a modern cinema and cultural complex, is a popular destination for the young and the aged alike.Totally Loved it!!

NANDAN:- If you're exhausted by everyday work and need a relaxing weekend with your friends and also to watch some movies then it is the ideal place for you.It is a great place to hangout with friends and family. Nandan is a nostalgia not only for every Bangali as well as people of KOLKATA- the city of Joy ❀. It is an institution for Bengali Films 🎬. KIFF- Kolkata International Film Festival is hosted here every year which makes this place more special. If you're lucky enough to book the ticket of first day first show movie ticket of you favorite bengali movie star then it might be possible for you to have them live in front of you after the movie ends. So do visit once if you are in Kolkata or want to visit the city!

Situated just beside the Academy of fine arts, this place is very good to spend some quality time with friends or family. The cinema halls are run by the government so the ticket prices are very cheap. The seats of the hall are quite small but you can't really complain at this price point. Canteen and washroom are also available here. The ambiance of this place is also very good.

Amazing place. But one thing I missed there is that old vibe. Buildings are big and new construction. It would have been better if it would have given some old Kolkata vibes. Although it's amazing initiative and organisation by gov of West Bangal.

Nandan in Kolkata is not just a regular movie theatre; it's like a cultural hotspot! If you're into Bengali movies and want a great theatre experience, this is the spot for you. The tickets won't break the bank, starting at just 30 rupees. Plus, it's super clean, and there's plenty of space to chill around the movie hall. What's cool is that there are food stalls nearby, and the whole place is surrounded by a lovely water body. It's a chill spot to hang out after catching a movie. And guess what? It's super close to Rabindra Sadan metro station. So, if you're up for a good movie night in Kolkata, Nandan is where it's at!

Must visit place for Bengali film lovers. Film festivals are regularly held here with lot fanfare. All Bengali films are released here. As patronised by State Government, film tickets are very cheap here. Tickets start as low as Rs 30 and for Balcony it is Rs 70. Viewing experience is awesome. There are a lot of canteens and eateries nearby like Haldiram. Recommended for every movie buff

1st time visited to view a movie.. very good experience overall. Very nice and clean place, and good place to visit with friends and family. You can go there and enjoy a movie but i recommend to confirm the tiket before you go there cause in this covid situation movie hall running with half to its seat capacity so it filling fast. So it will better if you confirm your tickets online.. And other than the place have a nice environment. Public toilets pay and use also avilable inside the premises and onside NANDAN also. Give it a thumbs up if you find informative.. πŸ‘

This is a brain child of the genius Satyajit Ray. The architecture of this place brings much into perspective, the multiayered faceted space to hold the mind. Some of the best cinema is showcased here on a continuous basis..

Well it is under west bengal government's film centre. It is a well maintained cinema hall. It has a lot of scenic beauty and a fountain is there along with a pond where yiu can see fishes are freely playing. There is a food court also where anyone can eat. And also clean bathroom which anyone can use safely. It has two part. And atmosphere is also very good. And the most important thing is that the movie tickets are so cheap it costs only 30 rupees. And anyone from North to South can go there safely and the traffic police are always there ready to help you.

I am very happy to visit here, where Bengali actors, actresses walk in public, where press conferences are seen, where there are many canteens for food (veg or nonveg-no separation), where Good movies are shown. Rabindra Sadan does not have a separate vegetarian option, so I am giving 4 stars.

Situated just beside the Academy of fine arts at Rabindra Sadan just beside the Victoria Memorial. It was inaugurated in 1985 by Satyajit Ray, the renowned filmmaker. The complex has three auditoriums, a seminar hall, and an art gallery. It is a popular venue for film screenings, cultural events, and conferences. Best Cinema hall at an affordable price.... ticket prices start from 30rs to 80rs. The seats here are very comfortable with AC. It is really good to watch Bengali movies in such a beautiful place for so little money. Overall, my experience at Nandan Film Centre was exceptional. It is a haven for film lovers, offering an array of cinematic experiences, educational opportunities, and a supportive community. The combination of a welcoming atmosphere, excellent facilities, diverse film programming, and engaging events makes Nandan Film Centre a must-visit destination for anyone passionate about cinema. I highly recommend paying a visit to this cultural gem in West Bengal.

The Nandan Theatre in Kolkata (Calcutta), West Bengal is situated to the southeast tip of the Maidan (Ground). The importance of this theatre is related with the cine culture of Bengal. The veteran director late Satyajit Ray, who had contributed a lot to the Bengali film industry as well as Indian cinema, inaugurated Nandan Theatre. It was opened to the public in September 1985. Satyajit Ray created a landmark in the history of Indian cinema and it was continued by Mrinal Sen, Aparna Sen and now Rituparno Ghosh and Gautam Ghosh. Usually Film Festivals and Retrospectives are held in the Nandan Theatre. You can access a rare collection of books relating to World Cinema inside the theatre complex. The film complex has the Satyajit Ray Film Archive and Ritwik Memorial Library. During the Kolkata Film Festival, this theatre showcases some of the world classic films, which are appreciated by the critics. On the whole this theatre represents the film culture of Bengal.
