    It was a excellent experience I had here at cinnamon grand.. One of the best hotels in Colombo.. cinnamon city club is the best place to relax.. Best swimming pool facilities & gym facilities.. Great chill bath tub.. I have to mention a gym instructor called Danushka who works here.. He is superb. Great knowledge. Overall I had a amazing experience.

    Iโ€™m a regular user of this establishment, mainly the fish restaurant. However on my last visit I experienced a extremely poor customer service. Up on arrival we were promptly given a table, which was first class. We ordered the drinks (six cocktails) took rather long time to arrive, and when arrived it had sugar syrup all over the outside of the glass. Then we ordered the food. As the time was passing we asked few waitresses how long for the food, kept on saying fifteen minutes. After fifty five minutes later we decided to call it a day and vacate the restaurant just paying for the drinks we had. Then after one hour fifteen minutes we had our food on the table . By then we had been in the restaurant over three hours. I wanted to speak to the manager about this poor experience and the manager had the audacity to send a person believe to be a supervisor.what astonishing was there were two groups of white tourists who arrived much later than us, were fed and ready to leave by the time we had our food delivered to the table. Moreover there was a famous political figure dining at same time whose table was surrounded by waiters , waitresses and the person who believed to be the manager. All in all, we felt insulated, treated as second class citizens. On a positive note, food was lovely.

    Reading all the other reviews, it's quite a surprise that I'm the only one who experienced poor customer service. Still, I believe it's worth mentioning. I made a dinner reservation on Christmas eve everything was confirmed till I came to the premises. Someone near the entrance came to us and asked about our reservation. Then I had to argue for about 10 minutes about which outlet I was supposed to go to(When the reservation was made they never told us Which outlet we should go). My point was how the customer supposed to know which outlet we should go if no one informed us. However he was repeatedly asking there are 18 outlets and which outlet I made the reservation. We are not even inside to sit down and speak with receptionist at the first 10 minutes, we had to argue about 10minutes to sort this up. This kind of situation is fine if this is a shop on the beachfront, but not acceptable at all from 5-star restaurant. The lesson is every business should understand the value of training the front officers. They give the first impression and it really matters.

    When they have offers for credit cards or any other offer..they don't let you know about the offer unless you ask them....In Nov they had the option of one person gets free dining when we come with 4 people, this was at the plates restaurant for the dinner buffet...When I made the reservation over the phone they told me about the offer as well... But after we had the dinner and when they brought the bill they have charged for 4 people..When I asked from plates restaurant manager why have you charged 4 persons...with no hesitation he went and changed the bill and brought a new bill for 3 persons...So that's mean in his mind he knows about the offer but he is assuming the guest doesn't know about it and he is trying to get advantage without giving the offer....Very shame about the plates restaurant manager...Is this how you are running a 5* hotel restaurant in the heart of Colombo ? A incident like this was happened in 2022 Oct as well when Mr Dilanka was the Plates restaurant Manager...How ever he gave us a free dining on another day for not giving the card discount. Dear Mr Chairman of Cinnamon Grand Colombo.Don't allow this beautiful 5* hotel to be ruined by some few idiots.Please take further action on this.

    Had a 2 night stay at one of the executive rooms and the service was exceptional. Wahab, our concierge, and Ali, our butler, made the stay incredibly welcoming and easy, while the staff at the executive lounge were pleasant and made my stay a seamless experience.

    First of all, I must thank Rasika very much for making his effort in teaching my daughter how to swim better. Second, after experiencing my daughterโ€™s enhanced performance, I was motivated to start taking lessons from him as well. In fact, my daughter and I have indeed improved and gained a lot of confidence in swimming after learning from him.

    Cinnamon grand visit was related to completion of my assignment last week, it was a bit crowded however the staff especially Nafeel was truly supportive, finding a place to work, charge the devices as well as continuously checking on food and drinks. Truly a blessed staff member. Thank you to him and the team, keep up the amazing work.

    Disappointing NYE event We booked and paid for the dinner dance for NYE at Chutneys on the 23 December. We confirmed our booking on the 30th December. When we arrived at the hotel we had to exchange the receipt for coupons. My partner requested his receipt back as his proof of payment but this request was refused as they were collecting the receipts. He only had the tiny visa slip as proof of payment at this stage. When we arrived at the restaurant they were unable to find our booking. They double checked but without success. If we didnt have the tiny visa slip to prove he paid, I fear they would have refused us entry. (The hotel should have copies of all bookings and should not have to collect the customer's receipts.) They then offered to skeat us outside undercover. It was raining heavily at the time. I refused. They then proceeded to seat us in a dark corner of the restaurant, where the waiter didn't even bother to come light our candle. No ambience at all. It was hard to find a waiter for the drinks menu as well, despite the restaurant not been packed. When booking we were told that the ticket included entrance to the pool party. They failed to inform us that this entrance would only be allowed from 11.30 onwards. As someone who has attended previous NYE parties at this hotel, I found this event this year to be lacklustre, dismal. As a regular visitor to Sri Lanka , I am very disappointed at the service I received at this establishment.
