This is a very calm and nice place. Even in the mid of city of Colombo, this type of natural beauty makes the wonderful beauty to the city. This is well maintained garden with a nice view towards the Waters Edge lake. Also Waters Edge water aerodrome also clearly visible to this location. Seating benches are located along the garden and also some fruits like guava are also available in the gardedn.

If you are looking for a place to walk under the shade then this is the place. You can reach here if you take 171,170 or 190 bus from Colombo Fort. Not a busy place but this foot path is located parallel to the road so you have to bear up the sound of vehicles.

Great place for a walk. Calm, except for the noise of the vehicles. That's also significantly reduced once you're inside the park. Swan boat rides are also available here.

Some people come can throw garage here. Do not destroy grass around this area. Do not throw garbage in to diyawannawa lake. Do not enter your bikes to here.

(Translated by Google) Exotic Meditation Buddha statue at Mahamevnawa Park Sunset falls on the green roads of the jungle. The tour leader took us again to visit Mahamevnawa Park. The last drops of sunshine of the autumn day pass through the leaves, it glitters with peaceful drops. All of us do not seem to remember our worries of life anymore, only downstream of our own spiritual path. Tucked away in the dense woods of Mahamevnawa Park in Anuradhapura, the Samadhi Buddha image is a Buddha in the meditation posture (Dhyana Mudra) of Buddha. This is a stone statue of more than 2,000 years, has been eroded by the mist and wind, but the miracle is that when we come so close to worship, a calm energy spreads to us, even though it is just a stone statue, yet the statue radiates completely the steadfast abidingness of the Buddha in the deepest meditative levels, his whole body gentle, serene, completely free. "Stubborn", it can be said, the writer himself later when the topic of Buddhist recitation "Buddho", this statue is the image to visualize, it brings natural concentration, to relax and let go of the easiest way. It can be said that this statue was completed by the masterful craftsmanship of the master craftsman and possibly by a person who has experienced meditation. Of course it is speculation, but it is quite possible. How grateful and happy we are that those present here have the opportunity to listen to the Dharma, to contemplate the divine relics, to be able to practice the virtuous dhammas, to follow the tracks of Buddha relics, intentionally kept hidden by the ancient Sages. Among the more than seven billion people present on this earth, that is exactly the result of the good karma we have planted. Grateful! We can say that, it is gratitude and virtue to study that made us come to this place together, and open our hearts to receive the Dharma. Again, the recitation of the Sutras, still the old Pali sound, the feeling that it envelops the country is only this sacred and powerful sound: "Evam me suttam," which means "As I have heard,". Or, Chu Thien here wants me to hear! I don't know, just know that there is something very magical about this ancient statue. We have only this lightness, peace, and endless peace. Chúng tôi chỉ còn sự nhẹ tênh, bình an giữa mênh mang vô tận này.

Place was great but the distespect given by the security lady spolit my whole day, me and a bunch of my friends were messing around at the entrance , and she said “ yanawa methanin “ and something else and i asked my friends what she said and she mocked me saying the same thing with a unpleasnt face, if she is being paid to do her job, she should do it well and show some respect when speakinh , please note this to her , the date was 13th of november at around 4 -4:30 pm, it spoilt my whole day and i dont know how she had the nerve to say it aswell, maybe because we are a bunch of youngsters, but its still not proper be cause i am sure i wont make a visit there anytime sooner.

I really thought this was a part of Diyatha Uyana . Swan Ride is fun but better have precaution as these boats are not exactly well maintained .But very unlikely to sink . Walk here is something awesome alone or with a party .Specialy in the mornings . Diyatha Uyana and Diyatha station is a minutes walk away .
