It is just a few kilometers away from the cuttack city. It was built approximately 800-900 years ago. The environment and the scenario is too good.. This fort is situated on the river of Mahanadi which is why people from multiple locations come here to spend the times. However this is a ruined fort and it needs some developments to attract the more tourists. Place is so empty and one shop is there. So If you wanna go there to spend the times, please bring foods from outside and don't forget to bring someone with you ( for women).

Good place for photo and video shoot.... Not a big location but it's nice to visit here. Grassy lawn and rock structures are there. Evening 4pm onwards, it is great to visit. Hardly 2 hour is enough to enjoy. City auto drivers also not know about this location, so be careful, they may charge heavy, so prefer ola as Only nearby people know about this location....

Barabati Fort in Cuttack, Odisha is a historical site that is a must-visit for anyone interested in ancient architecture and culture. From the moment you set foot inside the fort, you are transported to a bygone era, where the grandeur and splendor of the past are on full display. Built in the 14th century, the fort stands tall as a testament to the architectural brilliance of the past. The fort is well-maintained, with beautifully manicured lawns and awe-inspiring structures that are sure to leave you speechless. The intricate carvings, detailed designs, and sprawling courtyards are a sight to behold. As you wander through the various sections of the fort, you will be amazed by the level of craftsmanship that has gone into its construction. What makes Barabati Fort truly special is its location. Situated atop a hill, the fort offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and the Mahanadi River flowing nearby. It provides the perfect backdrop for capturing memorable photographs and enjoying peaceful moments. The fort is easily accessible, with ample parking and well-marked signboards. The staff at the fort is knowledgeable and welcoming, providing valuable information about the history and significance of each section. A visit to Barabati Fort is an experience that you will treasure forever. It is a perfect blend of history, culture, and scenic beauty that will leave you with a deeper appreciation for the rich heritage of Odisha. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Cuttack, or even in search of a quick weekend getaway.

There's no ticket. The fort and garden are adjacent to each other. There are only ruins of the fort. There's a gate at a little distance from the fort and the interiors of that gate are now a stadium. Getting an auto is a little challenging here. The garden is very well kept and is clean. You'll find kids playing here and also on the stadium grounds

Whenever I come to this place, I feel happy and amazing. This place is best in Cuttack to spent time and have some snacks. It was the entrance gate of the king Kalinga, at 1600 or 1800 century around. I am sorry if am wrong. But the point is that this place gives a good vibe and recently you can see here mini water fountains with beautiful water falling shapes. I feel happy when I come here.

Nice place to visit for short time or long rest. Soprting activities go everywhere, so everyone is free to workout. Very peaceful place. The fort can be a mediocre place for photoshoot. Pondside Dargah is a nice charm. Lush green and some museums, one deer park and decorative infrastructures laden its outskirts so, one can easily spend much time around this riverside place. Plenty of place for bike and car parking. Also for short picnic. If one can time their trip correctly, they can glimpse a lot of butterflies.

One of the famous place of cuttack, located close to barabati stadium. The fort is open full day but not sure about the park. It's good for walking or doing exercise especially in the morning and evening time. Overall the place is neat clean and covered with vegetation and it give a different feeling compared to the town and that feels so great 😍😍🥰🥰.

Barabati Fort is a 13th-century fort built by the rulers of the Eastern Ganga dynasty in Cuttack, Odisha, India. The ruins of the fort remain with its moat, gate, and the earthen mound of the nine-storied palace, which evokes the memories of past days. Today it sits next to the modern Barabati Stadium, the venue of various sport events and cultural programs. There is also a temple dedicated to Katak Chandi, the presiding deity of the city, not far away from the fort. Now there are plans to develop the old Gadakhai into a world class tourist destination with boating facilities and a world class park. The renovation work of the Gadakhai is going on in full swing.

This place is not exactly the Barabati fort, it's just the ruins. Visiting the place isn't a complete disappointment, but not a must visit either. The place ain't crowded and you can have fun with your travel companions. It's kept clean and tidy but nothing much else is being done about it....

Barabati forts distance from Cuttack junction is 6 km . There is main gate on the front side of the fort . After going 300 meter there is garden and garden is in good condition . There is only 3 buildings are available to see in that fort. And the worst thing is that there is not available any historical board in the fort . Government or local people should make the historical board of fort , If they don't have any proper information they can get information on the Google and please make it for our historical culture this is our responsibility . It is helpful for tourists and I think Tourism is very important part of the total GDP of the Odisha State .

But if you want to visit I would rather request to read the history first so that you will sear h for them and enjoy the views. There are not much shops inside the fort.you can cover it in 1 hour max. There are some findings of the palace inside it . Also way to Indoor stadium.people visit this place for there morning or evening jogging .

Its very beautiful place to ground and entertainment. Since 13 th century it was built by Anangavima Dev III ( Eastern Ganga Dynasty 1211-1238). Some part of his palace have already been destroyed. But now govt. has been taken in his charge and making more attractive and beautiful. I think all should make a visit to enjoy the same. Thank you

A must visit historical place in Cuttack. Odisha has so much to offer and this is one of such place. I went there to shoot a vlog for my Youtube channel ( Channel name - Miss Izanami ). I did some research about it and was so surprised to know the history of Barabati Fort. You can go there with your family and do tell your child about the importance of the fort that British used to fear a lot in the bygone era.

My childhood memories are very much here. Lot of stories are entangled here. How the king protected his fort I have heard in my childhood. Like in the water which surrounds the fort is let to live dor many dangerous species of reptiles like crocodiles and snakes.

Barabati Fort is strategically located between two rivers i,e Mahanadi and Kathajodi. One Gadakhai or canal with crocodiles is too present around it for its security. Now crocodiles are not here and the fort is in ruins. Still beautiful.
