I seldom travel to Colombo and wanted to check this place simply because of the great reviews 🤩👍 Was a quick drop by for brunch and I was longing to return the moment I stepped in. Loved the atmosphere and music. It gave all the vibes of a Caribbean seaside cafe but in the heart of the city. 🏝🍹 Had a summer berry smoothie (hope I got the name right) and a chicken bagel 🥯. The food preparation and presentation was a delight. ❤️ all the flavours of the bread, chicken, potatoes, mushrooms and the smoothie was well balanced. Was a true treat 🥰😋 will be back again, for a much longer stopover next time 😉

One of my most favorite cafes in Colombo. Coffee is amazing and very rich. Lovely menu for breakfast and brunch with so many different options. Make sure to check out their Instagram page because those photos live up to the quality of the food that you will be served. I will 100% be returning regularly to try out the other delicacies on offer and enjoy the welcoming and friendly environment. This place is blended with the environment, natural lighting and cross ventilation is also done right. it was a wonderful place to relax, get some work done as you won't feel tired even during the mid day period. I wish I lived closer so I could enjoy the experience often. It is truly an oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of Colombo Don’t miss out on this local gem, there is something for everyone. The only issue might be the number of parking slots available.

I visited seed cafe for brunch with my friends and we had a wonderful time. The cafe is located in a beautiful old villa with a cozy and relaxing atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was super delicious and healthy. We ordered the Soft shell tacos with slow cooked pulled jerk chicken and Thai spiced chicken w/ raw papaya slaw, coconut rice, charred lime and home made satay sauce. Must say the presentation was delightful. Everything was fresh and yummy, and the portions were generous. The iced milo was also excellent to sip along, and they had a variety of options to choose from. The prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity of the food. I would highly recommend seed cafe to anyone looking for a great brunch spot in Colombo. It’s without a doubt one of the best cafes in the city.

Friendly, positive vibe in the Prana Lounge where Seed Cafe is located. We'll lit both inside and outside with natural lighting and good cross ventilation. Next time will add some photos. A really lovely setting - the ambience is lovely. The staff are very friendly and there is plenty of inside and outside (covered) seating. There is a plentiful healthy menu. Lots of options for drinks and food. You will have a wait for both food and drinks - do not expect the food to come out together either. Only downside was the wait but it was delicious.

They have both indoor and outdoor seating available. Love the decor!, it’s simple yet stylish and elegant. There are few downsides though. There’s no A/C so it can get a little hot indoors. Usually it’s full house in weekends and may get a little noisy as well. But overall, this is a great place to dine, unwind and socialize

Great place to go to, if you are looking for healthy and vegan options. They have a good selection of items to choose from and the food is mostly healthy and nutritional. Mostly famous with the foreign crowd and tends to attract an elite customer base. Loved the food, but the only downside was they didn't have an extensive dessert menu except for some brownies and macarons since they tend to serve all healthy food. Beautiful outside seating area and inside also high ceilings and fans only. Very charming place.

My recent visit to Seed Café was a refreshing experience. I started with the chicken bagel, and it was a delightful combination of tender chicken and fresh vegetables in a perfectly toasted bagel. It made for a satisfying and flavorful meal. To quench my thirst, I ordered a glass of fresh watermelon juice, which was incredibly refreshing and a perfect complement to my meal. It had a natural sweetness that was so enjoyable. As for the ginger kombucha, it provided a zesty kick and a healthy twist to my dining experience. Beautiful heritage building. Food was lovely, the smoothie bowl was a little bit on the smaller side but was yum - loved the peanut butter on top! Red pepper hummus is delicious, I have never had this combination before with tofu, really enjoyed it! Staff were all kind :)

Really nice atmosphere and the food came very quickly. The Turkish eggs were cooked perfectly and we all enjoyed our meals. A bit pricey compared standard prices in Colombo but definitely worth it.

Nice open Cafe with free seating... Located in the middle of the city. Great tasting cookies also. (bit too sweet though) I tried their Vietnamese coffee and it did not taste very authentic. Overall a nice place...

My wife and I went here for lunch with an old friend and it was so good! We tried one of the poke bowls, a chicken salad, the crab croissant, and the french toast for dessert; all were fantastic! I can also highly recommend the cold brew coffee; smooth AF!

Really beautiful architecture! You pay for the quality, presentation and nice surrounding as the food & drinks are quite expensive in comparison to other places. I ordered a crab and egg croissant with coconut drink in a hipster bottle. The croissant was ok. It tasted bit bland. Not sure if it’s because it’s prepared differently due to power cut. I do appreciate that they prepared it for me even though it’s not in the power cut menu. Thank you!

The ambience is so nice! Food is tasty. Perfect for a brunch date. The place can get a bit crowded, but there are a lot of seating options. The portion sizes are big and can be easily shared by 2 people. I'm coming here again.

Last day in Colombo and we decided to grab breakfast from this spot. The ambiance and setup of the place is very nice and bohemian. The food took a while to arrive. We ordered the pulled beed croissant, eggs and salmon Benedict and french toast for my daughter. Flavors were nice but the plates were a bit messy. I felt food could’ve been presented in a better way. The ice cream on the french toast was fried, it didn’t taste fantastic and was melting instantly. The coffee was very good though and the prices are decent too!

It’s really nice and cute place. We’ve had a lunch there. Meal was tasty and also portions were big enough. They provide one of the fastest service I met in Colombo. We waited our order about 10-15 minutes. Prices are the same like all touristic cafes. One thing is upset me they works till 5.30 pm. I’d like to come there and have a dinner after 6 pm.

Was so lucky to find this gem during my stay in Colombo- they have a great selection of vegan food, drinks and coffees 🍃 They are on the pricier side but it’s worth your money as they use fresh and quality ingredients. It’s a busy yet tranquil cafe with yoga next door in a beautiful colonial house located in the middle of a busy city. They do not take reservations so come early and get a spot

Incredible food and service! I had 2 flat whites and the smoked salmon Benny's on a bagel. I could not have been happier with the food, the coffee was fab...I had 2 after all, and the service was lovely! The space itself was super cute, I really liked the space and it was tucked away from the main road so not noisy at all. The prices were what I expected for this part of town and the quality of food. Not crazy, but fair for what you are served. I would say this is my new favourite brunch spot in Colombo!

Had heard a lot about this place, a few of my friends are nearly residents. Now I know why after finally visiting. Capable and friendly staff, even on what was apparently the busiest day they'd had in a while. No compromise on taste when it came to the very healthy menu. Nice atmosphere, seems to have a lot of regulars and now I can see why. It's great that it's dog-friendly too. I will be back soon, and with my dogs once they're a little more grown up!

Best coffee in beautiful building, but chaotic and slow service. When we arrived the table they lead us to was quite dirty and we had to ask at the counter to clean it. It took them forever to serve the cappuccinos we ordered. We only got one and complained and got the second one 10 minutes after the first one. Then they forgot two bring a second set of cutlery and we had to complain again. The salted caramel banana French toast looks great on a photo, but was a bit disappointing, especially for the price. First of all it is not a French toast, just a fried toast. The bananas were not ripe enough and therefore not sweet. The ice cream scoop was very tiny and they could have also been more generous with the butter, the toast was a bit dry. Before leaving I ordered another cappuccino, but I did not get it. After 10 minutes complained once again and finally go it. The cafe itself is beautiful and they okay relaxing music. I really enjoyed the coffee and the atmosphere, but they really need to work on their service.

The place has been set up very well, the atmosphere, the menu design and amount of options etc. Very modern, hip and a cool little spot in Colombo, I'm sure you could do work and chill out here, it was pretty busy when I came and seems popular, they have a yoga studio connected also. Also a really nice outside dining area. They have lots of options with both vegan and gluten free being accommodated for, the staff were helpful with checking my order. I had a granola bowl with coconut milk with butternut squash rotti's with banana and avocado. If I came back again, I'd go for something different as it wasn't the most tasty and also not the cheapest or the most filling :)

We went to the place seeing the positive reviews. However, the place is mostly crowded and you'll have to wait to get a table. The waiter attended us after really long. And the order was also served after a long time. Also, my husband had to go and check for the beverages. The food is nothing great. Tried their famous charcoal smoothie bowl. It was average and not worth the hype. The drinks were really bad. They both tasted like coconut water with colour.

The food is delicious and presented beautifully. The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. The staff is also really friendly. You can tell they know what they’re doing and making the customers happy is their main priority. Do yourself a favour and stop by, and if you a lucky you might bump into the wonderful owners of the cafe as well.

Not worth for money! IDK how the portion sizes are if you go to dine in, but the delivery portion sizes are poor. I ordered a spirulina smoothie bowl which was 1250/= bucks on uber , and this is what I received, the flavors are good, but when you look at the portion its worth about 700 bucks!

The restaurant was so busy but the staff was very attentive and got us a table fast. We ordered passion and mango smoothie bowl and butternut squash roti stacks. The smoothie was smaller than expected but it tasted very good!. The butternut squash dish was new to us and it got a wow factor from the first bite.

Located conveniently in Horton Place with Parking, the best part is the ambience. The colonial settings just off the main road provides the necessary calm and quiet to enjoy a hearty meal. There are comfortable seating arrangements both outdoor and indoor and will find an expat crowd enjoying the continental cuisine. Service is promt and polite. Food was tasty and matched the description as provided in the menu; unfortunately in the current inflationary scenario (Jun, 2022), patrons are bound to feel the pinch. We had a Chicken Burger with Pesto Sauce and it tasted fine with the slaw. The French Toast with Gelato satiated our sweet cravings. The drink was consisting of pineapple, king coconut and other fruits was fresh and light. Overall a good place to enjoy mostly healthy food in good company if you've bucks to spare.

Our Sunday vegetarian brunch fix ! My husband and I are vegetarians and we absolutely love our ritual of eating brunch here twice a month. Our favs on the menu are the healthy Pumpkin bowl, the fulfilling Kale pesto pasta with mushrooms and peppers, and the dessert like very unique Vietnamese coffee. Staff are friendly and vibe is clean & green.

Ordered the roasted pumpkin with hummus. The roasted pumpkin was heavenly. Didn't appreciate the raw tomato pieces in it as didn't go together with everything else. Also would have liked to have more quinoa and hummus instead of a scattering. But I understand with high costs n ridiculous commission charged by pick me and ubereats on these places it can be tough.

Their food is great, I ordered the butternut squash roti stack with pulled jerk chicken and all the flavours were on point. Good coffee as well, but their cookies are to die for, especially the burnt butter double chocolate chip cookie. Get the cookies to go and let it be your indulgence after a healthy meal. Only issue is the limited parking, so better not to drive there.

A cosy cafe down Horton place, Seed Cafe is a hidden coffee spot. Parking space is shared between another 3 establishments, however there is space in total for about 10-15 vehicles so this shouldn’t be an issue. The ambiance is nice and welcoming. The staff and service was also good. We visited the location during Covid 19 however not a lot precautions were taken other than the staff wearing masks. There were a few food and beverage options available and we choose, the smoked salmon benedict bagel and the pesto chicken bagel burger. The presentation was good and so were the meat options, however the poor bread quality made the overall quality of the dish low. The bread was hard to cut with a knife and even to break with the mouth. This was a bit disappointing. We also tried out the Vegan Berry Chia Pudding, which is not in the menu but on their IG page, this was pretty good! For drinks we tried to get the white chocolatier mocha however this was not available, so we tried the milo mocha. This drink didn’t really have the typical milo punch we were looking for so it was a bit underwhelming. Also the staff failed to mention that the sugar was available in a separate counter as self service till we inquired. The prices are on the high side and I don’t think we got the value for our money unfortunately. Also we did visit the location expecting to do some work as well, however to our disappointment there was no WiFi service provided. This would not be a repeat visit place for us.

Been here few times and food has been amazing. Have made it a habit to visit here few times a month. Not a great variety in the menu but what's given tasted extremely good. Presentation is very attractive too. A bit pricy but wouldn't complain as the food and service is good.

Amazing food and reasonably priced. Lovely place to relax and read a book or catch up with a friend. The staff is extremely accommodating and helpful. The owners are very hands on and ensure they maintain quality.

Visit Seed quite often and absolutely love the food and coffee they serve. Can be busy over the weekend so expect a small wait but completely worth it. Had most of the items on the menu but I recommend their flat white and the Mac and cheese! They also have plenty of parking at the back too but when the cafe is busy it may get filled up! 10/10 recommend!
