I made an appointment between 10.46am-11.00 am and was taken inside the office shortly after 10.15. One of the staff members checked our proof of booking (a time slot) before taking us in. It's helpful if you can take a print out of the document you downloaded. But they're also fine with seeing it in your phone as well. The security officer then sat us down in the order we were taken inside. And there after you have to go to 5 counters to get the work done. I was outby 11.45 and delays were mainly because some of the applicants had complexities in their documents. The staff members were friendly and they did a very admirable job in helping all the applicants. Even when the applicants were careless the staff members didn't so much as raise their voice. They were very polite. Specially the elderly gentleman at the first counter. He was very professional. I urge everyone to make an online appointment so that you know for sure you can get your work done the day itself. Do not take tattered old birth certificates or unclear identity evidence. There is a website. Refer to that. Download the pdf with instructions on how to fill the application. Do your part properly . And share this information with everyone.

I have booked my appointment through https://eservices.immigration.gov.lk/appointment/pages/reservationApplication.xhtml and it just took only 15 minutes to submit my documents. These days they provided above link to book appointment due to Corona situation, but normal way also you can submit your documents. but in that case you have to wait in lengthy queue. You can submit your documents from 8.30 AM to 1.00 PM Please go with complete documents, then no delay. Required Documents:- 1. Filled Application Form 2. Original Birth Certificate 3. NIC and Copy 4. Photo Acknowledgement 5. Original Degree Certificate and Copy with Employer Confirmation Letter (If you need to add your profession to the Passport) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: 2021-11-05 I have received my passport through post today. It took only 3 weeks. With the passport I got all the documents submitted.(Birth certificate, NIc copies, filled application forms etc.) Great service and I was not hoping this much of speed from Government Office :). Go there before 10 AM with the relevant documents. They will stop taking new applications after 1.00 PM. The place can get hectic real quick. Some of the staff here treat computers and fingerprint scanners like they are magical objects so be patient. One day passport service is not available at the moment. Go to immigration website and printout the relevant application before you come here.

TL;DR *Book an appointment online *If not go early in the morning ( may have to stand outside for couple of hours) *Passport will come within a month (mine took 29 days) Review: As of writing this (2021-11-01), passport applicants are at all time high. Hence I made an appointment @10.15 and went on time. They took me in at 10.30. Once I went inside I realized that 9.00 o'clock appointments are still undergoing. I was done around 11.30. People who don't have appointments, can only begin their application process after all the appointments are fulfilled. Even if you went at 8 a.m you have to wait until 11.30 or so. Applications will be collected from 8 a.m to 1 p.m only. There are lots of people visiting these days. So if you don't have an appointment, go early and stand in line. Otherwise you'll not be able to get in. Update: I have received my passport on 2021-11-29. Application submitted on 2021-11-01

One day service not available. Good service, Neat. Have a studio inside, Can get filled form inside the studio. Busy place (because of these hard times in sri lanka.) Now can reserve time for you, You have to wait 6 weeks to receive your passport after apply. The passport will receive by post.

VERY POOR SERVICE. They have given two contact numbers, but no one answers the calls. I applied for a passport under normal service. Now it's more than one month but haven't received it yet.

Quick service. No rush like other immigration office. But one thing go before 10am. You can do everything easily.

I applied through one day Service. Whole process didn't take even 45 mins. Very supportive and efficient staff. I am very convinced.

When i go there to hand over my documents the staff is quick and they work friendly with us.

Applied one day services via the online appointment system. The whole process took only about 30-45min. Very friendly staff. Bring fully filled application form, birth certificate(recently obtained one), your appointment token, ID card, designation confirmation letter and educational certificates to verify the job. You can collect the passport after 3PM. Excellent service by the staff. !!

One day service mean actually 2or 3 days. They only take priorities for to do their's private calls. And the male one who in front doesn't know what he tells, doesn't take any responsibility to serve customers. No current. Now working as appointments. Meaningless service. Just have to come morning and just waiting because they do their best to do the services very SLOWLY.

Main function is issuing passports one day and normal services. You have to get appointment online. Appointments are given from 8am to 12pm for both normal and one day services. Officers will take in customers little by little and first they take one day service customers. All people have to wait outside of the office where there is no sitting place and no roof, almost at road side. However they take all customers before 1pm. Customer service is very good inside the office. Waiting area is the issue.

Big croud. But they have a good management. Need to come around 3-4 AM to get on the queue as of 26/10/2023. They start issuing numbers around 6 AM. They will prioritize the one day service customers first. If you are for normal service you can get a token and come back around 12 to get your service.
