Urban Island offer a wide range of above average market quality products; handicraft, souvenir, gifts, clothings, tea, rug, tableware, fashion wear and even furniture. Products are tastefully done and not commonly available in departmental store. If you are looking for something unique, this is the right place to go to. Pricing is above average but not out of reach. Few parking spaces in front of the shop for the convenient of visitor.

They have a great selection of clothes, accessories, home decor, organic products and so many other stuff. The atmosphere is very nice. You feel welcome to just spend time there browsing through. Prices are also quite reasonable given the quality. There's a small cafe outside that I haven't tried yet.

Nice but pricy shop. However, customer care is by far the worst I have experienced in Sri Lanka. I had ordered and paid for a set of ceramics in January and was told I would receive it in April. Despite repeated update requests via email, phone and in person, no one seemed to be able nor willing to give me a status update on my order. The owner (Karen) answered my email requesting their employee (Jared) to get in touch with me regarding an update but instead it was me who had to keep hunting them down with little success. After a month without update, I requested a refund via email and in person. I also expressed my dissatisfaction about the poor customer care via email, phone and in person on several occasions. I got quickly dismissed saying it was a bank issue, then told they hadn’t transfered the request to the bank yet and that I would be called the next day (I still have not). It is evident to me that they struggle with very ineffective, unclear and contradictory communication among the team and with the customer. I‘ve been trying to get a refund for over one month now but my efforts remain in vain. Now that they know my number they do not even pick up my calls. Moral of the story: Fancy shop doesn‘t necessarily mean decent customer care. I recommend not placing any orders neither online nor in person.

Urban Island is a beautiful curation of Sri Lankan traditional crafts in a contemporary environment. Products are designed by the Urban Island team and produced in collaboration with crafts experts in regional villages. Sari fabrics and rugs are created by hand looms in husband wife teams. Fantastic swimwear, homeware and traditional and Sri Lanka inspired fashion.

Quality goods from handcrafts, toiletries to Sri Lankan designer wear. Would recommend 👍🏻

Nice place if you like unique items and designer wear. Not very expensive. They have done their decos in a minimalistic approach. The staff is young and very helpful.

Urban Island is a unique store in Colmbo with many Sri Lankan crafts, home decor products, scented candles, incense, soap/lotions, massage or bath salts, specially flavoured teas, house plants etc There is a wide range available for selection. Perfect for gifts or souvenirs. The top floor has clothes and accessories. It is very easy to browse through the store, and very confidently laid out. Staff is friendly and helpful. Parking is available outside the restaurant.

I’m so impressed by this shop - very high quality and modern artisan products (teas, clothing, home goods, candles, etc.). I got some tea, prints and candles. The candles by iti are really nice (vanilla and clove bud) - fragrance is amazing - I wish I purchased more!

Nice Concept Store where you can buy beautiful things made in Sri Lanka, with a special modern contemporary design. Unusual mixture of traditional craft with a modern lifestyle. I know this place from the beginning, I was very delighted.But the last times I visited the shop it was disappointing.The staff is very uninterested and not welcoming at all, only 2 people worked there.The shop is not in a nice condition anymore.The fitting room was really dirty, the window bank hasn't been cleaned a long time.Several hangers on the floor from earlier customers. No effort of the employees if you need help. It was a really nice shop but to keep the quality seems to be a problem. What a pity.

Nice place and I like the products. However I had bad experience in buying a pack of chocolate powder as a gift. It was only after a month that I was told by the person I gave it as a gift that it was only a piece of cloth inside the pack with no chocolate powder, and the seal had been apparently tampered with, which i obviously didn’t notice at the time of purchasing it. However when I brought it up to the shop assistant recently and even giving my number for the manager to contact as he was busy when I visited to complain, I never got a call till now.
