The property is old and it doesn't match 5 star standards it claims, I have stayed at 3 star hotels with higher luxury and lower rates however it does look promising since renovation work is on going. The staff is courteous and professional. Our room overlooked the sea and it was breathtaking view, super awesome. We had a pleasant stay.

Pros Really close to beach and have good views of the sea. Service by staff is exceptional. Food is also good. The rooms are spacious. Cons Maintenance issues - our room had a leak in the bathroom. Also the TV was not working. (This was informed and they promptly replaced the TV). Overall - a good stay, but bit pricey.

Very bad experience. I found this hotel from the list of 5 star hotel. Actually the reality was far from it. Service was rubbish. Room was just on average. Food is poor. When I checked in, staff said,” restaurant is closed, so please order in-room dining” but actually it was fully open. Should not stay.Waste of money.

Situation in a prime location. Rooms look a bit old but neat and clean. Food was tasty but the menu was very limited. Kovalam beach was just a km away. Try to book ocean view room with balcony.

Good breakfast options. Beautiful pool but no direct access to the beach. Gala dinner on New year's eve was great with a huge selection of food. Service was wonderful from George.

Today visited the hotel and had dinner buffet. It's very poor spread without any choice. Not at all worth and the maintenance side looks very low. It's a good location but only if maintained properly It's value will stand. As such really don't recommend

Located on the Main Road, easily accessible with a good Parking space. Rooms are neat, linens are good as well, and has good seaview. Huge Verandah is a big highlight. We could see there are some construction /maintenance work going on. Initially we had glitches with the Fridge / mini bar, but was sorted out very quickly, thanks for the quick action. Breakfast spread is good, and tasty. Staff's are polite and helpful. Nice place for a Staycation.

Best place to stay. Took care of our guests as if they are family. Food was served on time and was good. Excellent service at the restaurent and at the front desk. The best place to stay connected to a wedding... Don't forget to get in their pool. One of their staff is always watching over. A thanks to Dino for making it all possible.

Very good place for a staycation. The property is a bit old , but maintained well. Rooms are spacious, neat and hygenic. Staff service is exceptional. That is a great upside. Buffet breakfast has a nice spread of local and continental delicacies. Pool is well maintained. There is no direct beach access, that is a downside. But remember to book upperfloor rooms for beach view and a memorable stay.

Great property, the only downside is that, it doesn't have direct beach access. You need to walk 300m with a steep slope and could be a difficult task for old age people however you have auto stand out side of hotel. It's a good hotel with good green view (Don't forget you are in Kerla). Food was great and rooms are big and have large balcony.

Charged full amount + tax for a cancellation that was done 2 days before the stay. The cancellation policy is outrageous. Hope the management reviews it. Sometimes people would have to cancel for genuine reasons. I am pretty sure the room would be booked by someone else, if you are putting a penalty it should be prorated based on when the cancellation is made . Not sure if it is legally correct to charge tax as well when there has been no service availed. Highly disappointing.

The work disappointing is an understatement. I do not know how this property claims that its 4 star. Elevator that partially works. Kitchen that closes early. Rooms that are pretty run down and seriously need upgrades. The bathroom curtains had mildew and the bath tubs were stained and they thought it was OK to rent this room (room 501). Even the TV did not work cos "the cable network providers had a problem" . Am not even sure why these rooms are priced the way they are. Checked out the very next day thanks to me booking only for 1 night here. In the last 2 weeks i've stayed at the marriott and also spent afternoons at various other 4 and 5 star properties in cochin city and Trivandrum for not much more and the whole experience was at another level.

Hospitality and service offered at hotel is commendable. Staff members are courteous, alert and ready to help at any given time. Delicious food, memorable indoor and outdoor ambiance, relaxing and spacious rooms. Hotel is located at prime area. Kovalam beach is at 200 meters walking distance. Value for money deal.

We stayed as a family of 3 for 1 night. Location is great, with close distance from the beach. Checkin and checkout experience was great with friendly and helpful staff. At the time of our visit (August 2023), there was some renovation happening because of which there were construction materials around which took away some of the vibe. Breakfast spread was great, but would have liked slightly more spacious seating. Overall great stay.

It did not feel like a 5 star hotel. But, The rooms (Arabian sea facing room) were spacious and the sea view balcony was the highlight and ambience was good. There's no direct beach access. Staff were polite.

We were a group of 5 people who luckily got a walk-in to this resort's restaurant for lunch today. Their restaurant has good ambience with sea facing view. You can happily eat and have chit chat with your friends while glancing the sea and para sailing activities that are visible from here. A very calm environment to be with your friends and very supportive staffs as well. Most of the items that we ordered were good in taste. They provide their drinks menu and also serves it at the table. Overall a great and happy experience at this place.

Good hotel with friendly staff. However beach access is only by walking through a narrow steep public street with busy traffic - not at all suitable for people with accessibility needs. They offer shuttle but only during certain timeframes and not in evenings. Beach is a public beach , very busy and crowded with vendors and lots of people - not what we expected for a resort at this price point

We had fun time here. Especially my 3 year old son was excited. Front desk accorded a warm welcome and were very helpfull. Abhi and Ashwathy in the restaurant were amazing and took good care of my child. Will definitely want to visit this place if opportunity comes.

Food was excellent for the function organized ; the honey cake was just so delicious; special kudos to the chef. The food was very tasty and service exceptional. All good except that old title (Turtle on the beach) was better than new one (Gokulam Turtle on the beach) 😁

My husband and I came for a couple of nights on the end of our honeymoon in Kerala, and this was BY FAR the best resort we stayed at. We had the Honeymoon Suite, which had an amazing view of the Arabian Sea. We could watch the sunset from the balcony over the sea over afternoon tea service. The staff was very attentive (thank you to Rajesh for such a warm welcome and making us comfortable!) and the food was OUTSTANDING. We had a candlelight dinner, during which the head chef came out to greet us. I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking in the area.

Stayed with my family for a night in the signature suite, superb, it was really a memorable stay. Amazing view from the room feels like we are in the beach, good location smooth checkin and the food and the ambience of the restaurant was awesome. Really wonderful. Thankyou all see you again.

Very nice and helpful staff. My kids enjoyed the south Indian dosa Buffet in the mornings and Dinnertime was good variety of vegetarian dishes and desserts. The rooms are large and spacious. Location is close to beach therefore very practical

Gokulam Grand also known as Turtle on the Beach is one of the Best resort in Kovalam. Beautiful property, nice ambience, tasty food , spacious & big rooms . Great hospitality & professional staff is the best part of my stay in this property. I recommend this property to all the tourists.

Had a very nice stay at this hotel as 70 years plus couple. Very good staff especially Mr George at the reception and taking care of everything , Awathi at the catamaran restaurant, Dr Sindhu who suggested the massage suitable for us and the masseuse who gave us the ayurvedic Kerala massage. The only problem we faced was with the hotel Wi-Fi when required us to login repeatedly. The management should address this issue.

This place is really good and we enjoyed our stay here. We had lovely sea view from our room. The staff is really good and they received us with warm smiles and welcome drink. They have lovely kitchen and food was really good. Pool for kids and elders are friendly and well maintained. You can have drinks.

I had a very good experience staying at this hotel. The Ayurvedic is a must-try, especially with a super friendly and knowledgeable consultant like Greeshma! Kudos also to the hotel team (Rajesh, George, and the rest) for making ourselves feel welcome!

This place is so cool and the stay was a different experience for those who always wanted to have in their life once. Each moment we enjoyed our stay here. The General Manager, Soby was so welcoming and made our experience here memorable. I am so happy to celebrate one of my big days here in this place and each one of the staff organised and made it so special .They went above and beyond my expectations.

This hotel is situated at main centre of kovalam beach. It is very beautiful hotel. Rooms, services, location, all r decent. It is convenient for all purpose, n convenience r available to go anywhere from it, to town. Rooms location is very beautiful, u can enjoy from ur room, n enjoy at swimming pool also. Gym n other entertainment activities are also there. U can enjoy lot. U can go for spa, for morning/evening walk. Very beautiful hotel.

One of the best places to stay, the rooms were big with large balcony with good view of the beach. The rooms were fully equipped and had a neat and clean air in full. The staff were very professional, polite and maintained a healthy & friendly atmosphere. The restaurant is stocked with a decent size menu, and i liked everything I ordered.

Good hospitality by staff. Close to beach, can be accessed via public road. Food was good, especially buffet option. Kids loved the swimming pool. As a surprise we were upgraded to sea view room, and entire family loved it. Highly recommend for family with kids as well as for couples aand extended families and friends. Thanks to the management and we wish to come back here in near future.

At first, a heartfelt thanks to Turtle on the Beach and the staff who provided us with utmost comfort and amazing experience at the resort during our stay. We had a mini stayaction with our 2 year old baby at the resort. We stayed at the sea view room with balcony. The room was perfect. It was neat and tidy with all amenities. The staff were always ready to answer all our quiets and solve our problems. They were strictly following the covid protocols. We had our Breakfast Buffet at the famous Catamaran Restaurant. The live dosa and egg varieties is a must try.

Great service and the staffs are all excellent. However the delux rooms there doesn't seem to be worthy enough for the price. The tv had some problems and had to be repaired and the same was not spacious enough as well.

I went on a weekend trip to this hotel and I must say that all the hype given for this particular place was all fake and my experience there was literally horrible. I am really disappointed with the room service, like the time taken to get the food ordered is soo long. The food they serve are overpriced which are not satisfactory according to the price given. I chose this hotel seeing the review and all the photos provided in the website but it was really disappointing, there were disturbing sounds coming out from the balcony doors. I won't be recommending this place to anyone

The stay experience was really good, the rooms are little antique but morden too which makes it perfect. They are cozy too!! Its better to have rooms with starting series 3 onwards. Below 3 series such as 2 or 1 you will not get sea view. Also breakfast menu was 90% repetitive but it was delicious so I am happy with it. Food quality and service is really nice and appreciable. The thing which I did not like it they charge if you take more than 2 bottle a day. I think they should offer minimum 4 bottles a day, atleast keeping in mind per day room fare they are charging. Also the beach access is NOT direct, you have to walk down a steep slope and climb up steep road while coming back which can be tiring. Although You can go by car but I would prefer direct access with such room fare. Overall nice experience..

We have booked a 10,000 room. But The room is not worth the money we paid (4000 Rs will be ok). This property is very old. Not even painted after its built. We have booked the room for sea view. The oldest AC inside the room wont make u sleep in the night. Swimming pool was good. Staff also was good. And the food cost is very high even a 10 Rs lays will cost 60 Rs inside the hotel.

A good place to enjoy with family. Ask to get sea facing rooms because rooms in the bottom floor do not give proper sea view. Restaurant is nearby and offers all types of food. But the food tastes average. Rooms are not upto the standard of a five star. Not too many areas within the premise for activities. Staffs are friendly and courteous.

I stayed with my family for a night here. This is an old property. Renovation works were going on. Rooms and facilities are not worth the money they charge. Pool is just good. I couldn't sleep as there was power interruption in my room throughout the night. The room phone was not working and I had to Google their number in midnight and call for help. There is no direct beach access from this property. The breakfast quality and restaurant service was good though the spread was only basic.

The stay was amazing. The view from our room was beautiful. We could see the ocean from our room. The rooms and bathroom were really clean. The room service was really good and they were really quick.

Lovely hotel with beautiful views if the sea, especially rooms categorised as those with sea views. The rooms are especially spacious, compared to typical hotel rooms and the service is prompt and attentive. There is no direct access to the beach - it's walkable distance away. There's a good downhill climb to the beach and the return uphill can be difficult for senior citizens. You can take your car down instead and park at the designated parking spot. Swimming pool at the hotel is well maintained and we had a good time as a family at the pool. Overall a reasonably priced hotel with very good facilities and services.

The sea view room with the mezzanine floor is quite good. Food here was okay. Maybe need some more maintenance near the poolside. We'll, we understand that Corona has affected business.

The stay at Gokulam Grand Turtle was an incredibly wonderful experience. The staff always went the extra mile to offer the best hospitality. The food was excellent. It is so kids friendly. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends as it is one of the best places I have ever checked-in.

We stayed at this resort during Sep7th to Sep 10th. Location and food are really good here. Dining staffs are really good and they helped us with all baby food requirements really well. Housekeeping and reception people are highly irresponsible . We checked in to the resort on 7th sep around 9.30 pm. Room centralized AC was not working. Somehow we managed the night and complained them on 8th morning. Issue was resolved on 8th. AC stopped working again on 9th evening when we came back to room after day trip. We informed reception and maintenance guy came to check at 8.30 pm. He did sth and said that it will start working in 15 min. After that nobody from reception or maintenance bothered to check whether the issue has been resolved or not. When we again complained at 10.30 pm that it's not working they checked internally and asked us to shift the room at around 11.45 pm. How can we shift the room at that time when baby is slept and packing is in process as we were supposed to check out on 10th sep morning. Further, the entire wooden floor of the room was completely moist and water was clearly visible on the floor. The floor was completely slippery and we had to put our crocs in the room rather than the slippers provided by them. The room cleaning was also really bad. When we came back from our day trip on 9th evening, rooms were not at all clean. Dusts were there in the room, garbage papers were lying below the table. There were sands on the washroom floor. When we called up the housekeeping they said room has already been cleaned. Then we asked them to come and check. After that they realised that the room has not been cleaned properly. After that they cleaned the room again. Overall we had a pathetic experience here in terms of cleaning, housekeeping, maintenance and reception services. Won't recommend this place at all.

We have stayed here many times, but the service we have received on this visit has been exceptional. Everyone has been helpful, courteous and cheerful in making our stay a real pleasure. The reception team were more than helpful with any request, always with a smile. Due to building work, our room was transferred to the fifth floor with a beautiful view of the beach. The room service on the third floor and fifth floor has been excellent. A couple of excursions were organised at our request, with a comfortable car and great driver on both days. The dining room staff were a pleasure to see every morning, with a good selection of items and fantastic service from everyone from the table staff to the guys cooking eggs and dosas. The team at WWW Jomon, Surya and Vaisakh, ensured the ending of the day was provided with a suitable nightcap and with great style and service. We will certainly be returning and can highly recommend this hotel
