A wonderful place for school and college students to come face to face with scientific facts and its progress. The exhibits are well documented and explained in both Malayalam and English. The 3D show was OK OK, but the show in the Planetarium was wonderful. The commentary was quite informative and entertaining. There were a lot of school children, as is absolutely necessary in such institutions, and their comments and wonder were quite a revelation. A nice place to spend a couple of quality hours.

This is a great place for kids. It is a centre for recreation and knowledge. There is a park for kids. Many stations are there where scientific laws are applied in to games. There is a model of pslv rocket in front of main building. The main building contain planetarium, a marine world model, astronomical museum, a 3d theatre, small aquarium and lot more. Highly recommended

Very very poor maintenance. Planetarium not functioning. Entry ticket 60per head waste. I don't think why central government is functioning this much worst. Equipments are not working condition. Only few little bit working. Government or concern ministry should consider this one. Mirroring effects are all nice. Keeping photo's and Flex is not much useful. For that children can see it from video or mobile. There they simply wasting space, time and money.. Calm place. good parking and rest room.

A place which is for kids and school students. Maximum portion of this center is closed. But you can spend 2 hours with your kids and enjoy the science projects and game. Note: - Please don't take tour of Planetarium, one of the waste of money. Most of the science games which are in park is not working. Galaxy room, mirror room, sea and water room are awesome.

A great place for kids to come for a field trip, you can learn some science stuff here and the planetarium show is also a must visit program It's a visual treat about the stars, solar system and orbit It was a good experience, and there is a 3D show, I found it a dissapointment, all the stuffs are old, nothing like the progress The changes according to the era should also be brought here, and some improvements should be made in terms of new technology .

It's a nice place kids as well as adults for awareness of science, space, and about our solar system. There's a 3D show and a planetarium show available here in different time slots. I see the time slots of these shows change mostly so better to confirm at the entrance counter during the day of visit. Parking is available inside the premises with a small parking fee (Rs.10 for car).

The place is located in the middle of the city and it's a great experience for kids, in fact many schools from northern Kerala organize school trips to visit this place. There's a ticket counter at the entrance and you can choose what package you want. I will recommend the all inclusive one including the Planetarium, 3D movie and other exhibits. The 3D movie I watched was on Man on the Moon. Theres a glass maze , other exhibits demonstratong various Scientific principles. It's indeed a fun place to visit. There's a cafeteria inside the place which serves good refreshments

I visited the Regional Science Centre And Planetarium in Calicut recently, and I was extremely disappointed with my experience. It's clear that they are not maintaining the facilities well. The exhibits were outdated and in poor condition. It's a shame because the potential for learning and exploration is there, but the lack of upkeep really detracted from the experience. Apart from this The Regional Science Centre and Planetarium, Calicut—one of the most visited places in Calicut and one of the most active science centres under the umbrella of the National Council of Science Museums, Ministry of Culture, Government of India —is home to more than 15,000 square feet of hands-on exhibits designed to spark scientific inquiry and creativity. This place presents a plethora of facilities to delight all people of all ages by its diversity of themes. Facilities PLANETARIUM Planetariums are hemispherical domed theatres that project images of the starry sky and countless objects we find in our universe, creating educational experiences that teach astronomy and related sciences. Planetariums educate people about the objects in the sky, their relative movements by simulating the night sky of a particular place at a particular time. Calicut Planetarium and the programmes it runs gives you a unique experience. 3D THEATRE When we visit the 3D Science Show, we will experience an out of the world immersive experience in which the near realistic visuals come out from the static screen right in front of our eyes.

Govt. Owned property. Good for science enthusiasts/kids. Their Main star show needs betterment. Demonstration & visuals not sinking sometimes. 3d show & star show could be more conclusive. Kids park area to be kept open for atleast 7pm. All facilities closes by 6.30pm.

It will be an interesting place for school children and the adults who still keep that childish interest in science😃. Go with a friend who can enjoy the magic of prism, mirrors and miniatures of solar system, it will be a great experience. If you wish to attend the planetarium show, then better take ticket in advance.

A must visit place for school students and science enthusiasts. It is easily accessible since being located at a walkable distance from New bus stand. The children park here provides ample options to occupy children in a well maintained atmosphere. It has a science exhibition centre which gives us the opportunity to explore various scientific theories and concepts. I would recommend to take Rs 60 ticket to watch planetarium show which explains visually secrets of space and universe in a roof screen. This would help us to know more about the universe where we are living. Paid parking is available at very cheap amount of Rs 10 to park until leaving the planetarium without any time limit.

It is a central government project to encourage and promote science & technologies and its methodologies in everyday lives through active interaction with students and public. The park is really very good with illustrations and interactive exhibits. The whole day can be spend productively with school going kids and it is fun for adults as well. Kids get hands on real life understanding and practical application of science. A must visit for school children. There are many galleries, showcases, experiments and models with the objectives, The planetarium has 3D show, mirror magic, play area and other attractions.

Popular and fun. Some things need maintenance but overall, it was educational. Good place to take kids to. The planetarium was a bit dull compared to the other planetariums I have seen. And the 3D show (about 3 flies going to moon with Neil Armstrong & group) was okay though.

The security personnel are so kind and friendly. But the Science centre has been destroyed by the students whom are accompanied but not guided by teachers. The lack of discipline in the generation is reflected on the equipments in the science centre. Many of them has been destroyed or are on the verge of destruction. There are no security personnel inside the science centre except the Planetarium.

Good place to spend some time. Lot's of picnic team come here. You can spend about 2 hours here Watching the planetarium show is a good experience. But, things are a bit old now. 3D theatre showing the man reaching the moon for the first time is good. Sound system is of slightly bad quality. About 5 different exhibitions are there. Outside the building, there are many games for children. Great expectation before reaching here. Many of the exhibits are not working. Lack of maintenance.

Great place to visit. There were so many interesting things in this place, all of them were scientific and many would look like magic. People with curiosity and kids would have a lot of fun time here with all the curiosities that awaits to be seen here. There was a mirror maze and other mirror illusions, a planetarium, a 3D show(which I didn't see), swings to play, and various other stuff here. Most of the pics taken has people in the frame, so not attaching here.

Very good place for children and science enthusiasts. A lot of concepts are explained through play equipments. Concept of levers is explained very well by a number of funny equipments. Archimedes screw, Newton's pendulum etc are also there. There is a 20 minute 3d show which children will like very much. Planetaurium show is also good. There is a mirror gallery, life science gallery and an astronomy gallery. Having said all these, there are many cons also. Maintenace standards are very poor here. Most of the self-demonstrations in the astronomy gallery are not working. Same is the case with many equipments in the park. Ticket charges are reasonable. No extra fee for camera. About 3-4 hour required to watch all the items and shows here.
